James looked up to see the Dragoid enter the class, and struggle with the chair. His size would indeed slow him down. For the dragoid especially, he would have to learn to depends upon his team mates when agility in tight spaces was required. If he could not even best a simple chair, then he had no chance on the Path of Needles, or the Aquatic Maze, both of which required one to be agile and quick in the tight confines of the test. Once it came down to these tests, it would not be his agility that would be tested, but his teamwork, and patience. Also, in the case of the maze, his lung capacity.
James said nothing, not even returning the nod. He should not prepare a future for those who might not even see the end of the day. While the Vile Vials were his first test, they were one of his most deadly, and he expected multiple deaths. He would let the students brush with death yet, and it would not be pretty. There was a reason teh confines of this room had been magically hardened - it would not do for the events that occurred here to spill out into the outside world, and should one of James' "pets" get out of control, those walls would be required to contain the beast.
Another student entered. The boy was Isaac, and he had quit the Survival Class fairly early on, although he had done well. Luckily, James had been able to teach Isaac quite a lot in the limited time he had been here, and it pleased James to see a slight shiver of nostalgia as the boy entered the classroom. He sat in the corner. Perhaps he wished to retake the first test? James had no objection to this - he was quite liberal about school times - and he could understand the reason, as last time Isaac had depended on another student in order to complete the test. Alternatively, the dragoid could be his reason of attendance, perhaps to try and help his friend. James briefly entertained the notion of love, but soon dispelled it. Quite probably he was simply sticking close to a friend.
