A tapestry of earth, stretching out into the horizon, lit by the slowly setting sun. Upon it, was painted a hundred wars, great works of art drawn in fresh blood and bitter memories, an image ingrained into the land itself. Groups of bustling weeds grew out of the ground in the rocky wasteland, marking where the injured had died, drained of their blood, the remains of ancient weapons buried deep below. Layer over layer, the violence had marked this place, hatred growing into an almost palpable aura, inhabiting the sand, the walls, spreading into the hearts of men. Brilliant pillars of light arose, deeds of hero and villain alike, acts so despicable or selfless they radiated, reaching through the veil of history, carrying with them a long-forgotten world. It was poetry, a beautiful tale, sung only to those who could hear it, with the voices of the fallen. Standing at the crest of a rolling hill, covered in rocky protrusions, Gabriel stared out at this ancient canvas. It was not through chance that this place had been chosen to host the first great strike against SOLDIER. The blood had sunk deep into the soil here, and the promise of bloodshed had drawn those vampires with the longest of memories out from hiding. Many times, this ground had hosted horrifying massacres, and brutal vampire hunts, both sides vying for supremacy, and even survival. Even now, the gentle beat of the drums of war echoed in Gabriel's ears, filling him with strange, psychotic glee. Once more, the brush had lifted, waiting for the ink that would paint the hills red. Once more, war approached. Red eyes glowed brightly from underneath the brim of a top hat, as white gloved hands were raised to the sky. Softly, Gabriel hummed a tune only he could hear, his foot tapping to the rythm. And as his fingers plucked at the heartstrings of men, great clouds of thunder gathered high above. The very atmosphere trembled, and the earth soon followed suit. A rumble, an echo, a drumbeat engraved into the stones, that had witnessed a hundred thousand years of brutal slaughter. Once more, Gabriel would walk among the immortals. And this time would be the last.
Hey wiz,can you do something about me and creed?
I'm waiting for you to explain your 'weapons of mass destruction', as I stated before.
Nice speech.
I was in no way suggesting a 'get out of jail for free' just merely a substitution of weaknesses for vampires from cultures that did not have Christianity. For example: Mo could be especially weak to wood and running water, as her religion revolved around nature/shamanistic beliefs. Just a suggestion. But as Shik stated, if these items don't really effect elder vamps as much, it shouldn't be a huge deal for my character anyway.
Stakes come from far before Christianity, the idea being that certain beings could only be slain with the branches of particular trees. The tree in question varied often, and occasionally there were other requirements such as the application of goat's blood, or dead man's blood. So the stake thing should still affect you. And the holy water thing is a rather significant deal, due to the nature of my character.
Crosses: Crosses are a mere annoyance than anything to elders, newer vampires would get burned /if/ it touched them. Elders would simply regenerate the damage and shrug it off. Silver: Silver hurts, period. Newer vampires, again, are weaker. Elders, while still vulnerable, will heal it at a moderate pace, the flesh slowly forcing the silver out as it regrows. Holy Water: New vampires worst enemy, especially vapor. Elders, In great amounts proves troublesome, small amounts you are basically poking them with a damned toothpick. Running Water: Does jackshit to anything, ever. Blessed Iron: Neh...Concept seems a bit...eh. Not sure how one would bless a chunk of metal.. Dead Man's Blood: Hinders healing powers, large doses can damage. Almost useless, but handy in a pinch. Poison: Younger vampires could be susceptible, depending on age. Does nothing to elders, whatsoever. Acid: What hurts flesh, hurts flesh. That simple. Did I miss anything? :D
Stakes to the heart. Also, sunlight.
Asura blasts his way downward, as he finds himself moving through several layers of densely packed hallways, Laboratories and even living areas, all of them underground. It's significantly warmer here, and the steady hum of a heating system can be heard, although the electric lights affixed to the ceiling remain off. In these hallways, Asura sees series of bronze, humanoid statues, posing in positions of terror and flight, as if they had been turned to bronze mid-run. Expressions of fear still haunt their faces, perfectly preserved. The dark magic in this place leaves almost a palpable trail, as if Asura was moving through a thin soup of coagulated human fear. Below and to the right, the Failed God feels Genocide, although even with the repeated blasts from Vajira, both parties are moving down at an equal speed. Furthermore, blasting through layer after layer of metal was placing a strain on Asura's energy reserves, if he continued like this he would arrive exhausted. Already, he had dug down dozens of meters through the maze of winding corridors and bronze statues, the dim light of the outside world reduced to irrelevance by the sheer depth. Whatever Genocide was after, it would be near the core of the planet, where Asura could feel a definite wrongness, as if he were looking at an angled picture. Coupled with the powerful aura of dark magic in this place, it did not bode well for what lay in the centre. --------------------------------------------- The newly formed Kevin clone simply turned, mute and emotionless, cocking it's head as it observed Leeroy's change. Already, crackling lightning rippled over the creature's skin, gathering in his hands into large, glowing orbs. Wielding two orbs, each a different wavelength, humming with power. It seemed as if 5 hadn't spent any energy fighting Kevin - in fact, the homicidal nanobot swarm seemed to be stronger than ever, quite possible due to the new Soular Shard that now floated among it's metaphysical collection.
Firefly has spaceships, but that's like saying 'Lord of the Rings? You mean the one with the swords?'
Well, it's Always been vague how vamps work in Blood Compact, but I'm pretty sure we established the Christian Symbolism thing quite firmly. Then again, that could just be 'Draculan' vampires, and that older strains of vampires may have different weaknesses. I would not state, however, that vampires from other religions get a get-out-of-jail-free card when it comes to weaknesses, as it's the one thing balancing vamps and humies.
In this world, vampires were aplenty. Hordes of them ran across the globe, like a great swathe of darkness, creatures of the night, united only by their bloodthirsty nature. Some attempted to integrate themselves into human society, subduing the curse that could not be subdued, attempting to live a life more befitting of a human. Others gave in to their animalistic urges, hunting across the land and slaughtering all who came before them. Either way, they were nothing more than a pest, a plague of demons that had spread under the neglectful watch of man, who had forgotten the Glory of God. For every strength they wielded, a new weakness grew, a reflection of their descent into sin, their failure to live up to their heritage. Whilst certainly dangerous, these were not, truly, a threat. Far more dangerous were the Oldbloods. A title attributed to many vampires, those that had survived for ostensibly long periods of time, and gained powers beyond those of the common breed. Ancient creatures of great power, with the cunning of the devil himself. These older vampires lead the lesser hordes, or dwelt alone in nature. They were the Vampire Lords, the Ancient Ones, the Elder Nosferatu. Many names had been granted to those who had fully embraced the darkness of their soul. And yet, there were creatures even older, revered even among the Oldbloods. The Pale Lady, an icon of death found in cultures thousands of years old, a creature so ancient, her origins are impossible to trace, and said to be synonymous with the Lady of the Lake in Arthurian legends. Cain, rumoured to be the first vampire to ever walk the Earth, the father of murder, who was the first to be abandoned by God, and set to wander the world until the end of time itself. Gabriel, shrouded in mystery, a being with many names, each as heretical as the first, attributed with powers unknown. Dracula, the father of all modern vampirism, the foul fallen Count who is responsible for the great spread of vampires in this modern day. These creatures, those that others would revere as minor Gods, those who would cloak themselves in the purest of darkness, were the prey of those that would carry the banner of the Light. The Shadow of God, Kami no Kage, who moved from roof to roof in the silence of the night, soundless and scentless, scanning the ground with every glance. Shrouded in fear, as well as his own prowess, wielding his fearsom reputation to show the Light to those that had blinded themselves. He would annihilate not just the symptoms, those hordes of undead that swept over the lands, but the Lords that ruled from their thrones of darkness. He would find the source of the darkness that flowed across the land, and he would bring them the justice he had been charged with. A servant of the Pale Lady had entered this land, a knight said to be the only relic of Arthurian legend. A traitor not only to his name, and legend, but to the Lord he had once served. This heretic would be made to taste Judgement, and in death, would form a stepping stone to lead Kami no Kage to the Pale Lady. Like the shadow his name would suggest, Kami no Kage dropped down from the ceiling, his infrared flipping on and off, revealing those in the crowd that had already been turned. Already, they turned to him, realizing that something was not as it ought to be. And those that would turn to the exits, would find themselves facing a wall of Holy Vapour, pouring in through every entrance, filling the airport. With a light click, Muramasa found itself in Onikage's hand. All here were guilty. Those who had not aided the vampire, had turned their head to the side, allowing for his passage through this place. This place was drenched in sin, and all that could be done was to speed the fools to their Judgement. Ten minutes later, Kami no Kage sat in front of the Fallen. A man, who had once been handsome, his face burnign as he screamed. Kami no Kage held him up with one arm, and as the vampire clawed at the black scaled gauntlet, his fingers had already begun to fall off. Mechanical, and clearly altered, a voice spoke from the featureless helmet. 'Tell me what you know of Bedivere, and you shall receive swift death.' The vampire still screaming, vainly attempted to speak, but it's tongue had already been burned. It would be irrelevant, already the Purge had started a witch hunt for the Vampire Lord. Dropping the pathetic creature, the Shadow turned, walking away, it's figure obscured by fog. Behind it, the vampire struggled, burning to a crips. Beneath his feet, the bodies of human and vampire alike were sprawled, sliced and burned. The walls had been painted red in the blood of sinners, but even surrounded by such sin, the Shadow was clean. For he was the purity of fire, who would burn the corruption from this land, no matter how many innocents had to die on the way.
Name: [REDACTED] Alias: Kami no Kage Age: [REDACTED] Vampire: Probably not Gender: Unknown, presumed to be male Appearance: Weapons: Muramasa Sengo Named after the legendary Japanese blade of legend, this sword was forged using the most advanced modern techniques. Using molecular alteration to create molecule-sized tubes throughout the structure of glass, combining it's natural hardness with the flexibility of steel, while remaining lighter than titanium. Using the same technique, the blade is forged from Boron Carbide, the hardest known naturally occuring material, almost 50% stronger than Diamond. Focused into a single blade less than a molecule in width at the edge, it's probably the sharpest blade ever forged, capable of cutting through steel as if it weren't even there. The total mass is comparable to that of a shortsword, as it is around 40% air, but this simply makes it harder to break. Muramasa is holstered using a magnetic lock, as it would slice through any form of holster. The lock applies to the hilt, which contains an electromagnet of average capability. By switching the power through it, the value of the magnet can be changed. This is also linked to the palm of Kami no Kage's suit, allowing for him to retrieve it after being disarmed. Kuro Karada Literally translated as 'Dark Body', or 'Black Body', this suit of full-body armor has a variety of functions. The armor itself is composed of a special alloy of altered Boron Carbide, and Titanium Diboride, an incredibly tough combination of materials, both of which are harder than diamond even individually, but grant one another a vastly increased resistance to heat and electricity when combined. The alloys form a series of scale-like plates, each of which is only a few milimeters wide and thick, overlaying one another in multiple layers, gaining an effect similar to that of Dragon Scale modern combat armor. This is capable of absorbing massive amounts of kinetic force, and in addition to being bulletproof, it can even withstand grenades and other light explosives. It specializes against the force from the blades, hammers and punches often employed by oldbloods, however. Each scale is inscribed with a tiny, nearly invisible crucifix, millimeters tall, but still capable of burning a vampire on contact. With enough contact, these tiny crucifixes could deal serious damage to any vampire, burning their skin off. The helmet contains a heads-up display, as well as both infrared and nightvision modes. It's the hub for a specialized mental interface, a more advanced version of the mental interfaces already present in advanced robotic limbs and drone interfaces. It's said to be lodged directly into kami no Kage's brain, reacting to every thought instantly, allowing for high-speed toggling. It contains a communcations center, flappy bird, and all the other capabilities of a mobile phone. It's additionally installed with a microphone for vocal communication, and radio signal interceptors. On the back of this armored suit is a special containment area, filled with drugs. Advanced painkillers and other narcotic substances which can increase Onikage's reaction time, strength and speed. Specialized chemical enhancers which would allow him to fight on-level with even the most vicious of oldbloods. The exact substances used are a mystery, but legends say that they make him as close to immortal as a human being can get. The last feature of this armoured suit is the exoskeleton within it. A series of mechanical muscles linked directly to Kami no Kage's brain, partially integrated with his body. Small and highly advanced, with an unknown powersource. Highly dangerous enhancements that would grant him a strength on-level with that of most vampires. While the sheer physical prowes of some Oldbloods are impossible to match, he is far stronger and faster than any normal human could ever be. Then again, twisted as he is by all these enhancements, it is unknown of Kami no Kage can still be considered human. Aku Segi A modified fog machine, capable of spreading large quantities of fog all over the place. The 'fog' spread by these devices is the vapour of holy water, blessed by a holy man, said to be augmented with a drop of the blood of a member of the Purge. While it's unknown if the addition of the blood actually does something, other than make the fog smell faintly like blood, the holy water retains it's burning properties after entering vapour form, causing unspeakable agony to any vampire caught inside the fog. The Purge is known for spreading these devices around a city, and covering the entire city in a bank of fog. Enough exposure can kill lesser vampires, and even greater vampires are sent into agony by the 'divine wrath'. Other This is only a small collection of advanced items that Kami no Segi is likely to use on the battlefield. If necessary, he can easily procure almost anything he needs for a particular situation. From heavy-duty magnesium-based flamethrowers, to small cruise missiles, he has access to anything he needs to ge tthe job done. The sheer extents of his armoury is the subject of many legends. Personality: Vampires are a blasphemy, they are heretical beings that defy God's divine light. They are burned by the cross, the symbol of the sacrifice Jesus made for humanity, and they fall before the water blessed by those who would serve Him. They feed off of humans, eternally thirsting for that which they can never gain - true life, in the Light of God. There is no mercy, no complacency, there may be no rest until they are exterminated from the face of the Earth. Any human who would harbor a vampire is a heretic, and a traitor to humanity as a whole, and is to be punished with death. Bio: Originally a splinter organization within SOLDIER, the Purge was an extremist religious group that believed Vampires to be heretical beings, that required purging. While the Christian faith had always been on ends with vampirism for fairly obvious reasons, in the general population they had been accepted as strange, dangerous, but people. The Puge, however, believed that any who accepted Vampires were worthy of death themselves. Eventually, SOLDIER found the Purge to be going too far, and attempted to destroy the organizations. That's when they discovered what they were truly dealing with. Before, nobody had heard of the Oldblood-Hunter. Oldbloods weren't hunted, except with large numbers of highly trained soldiers, and a number of artillery tanks. And yet, even as SOLDIER rebuked the Purge, a legendary figure arose among them, who would go on to earn the title of Oldblood-Hunter. Named the Shadow of God by his followers, this mysterious warrior was incredibly capable, highly dangerous, and funded by large numbers of religious organizations and anti-vampire officials. By slaughtering one of the leaders of the vampire forces, Magnus' sireling Dresden, Kami no Kage showed that SOLDIER was nothing compared to the Purge. Stealing funding away from SOLDIER, and singlehandedly eliminating any information SOLDIER tried to spread about him, Kami no Kage became a figure of legend, slaying numberous Oldbloods, the most powerful of vampires. He was unstoppable, the boogeyman for vampires, a merciless, unhalting figure who would gladly sacrifice a hundred humans to slaughter an oldblood. There are too many vampires in this thread..... but not for long.
Return of Onikage! And Wraith, it's not a VAMPIRE NINJA. It's a CYBORG NINJA. I never confirmed whether he was a vampire or not.
