Just a random guy, doing random things. Main RP: Hell's Coffee Lounge Current RPs change often enough that it's too much effort keeping a list of them updated.

The one minute time limit is to ensure that the ability is almost exclusively used outside of combat. If someone can just pop off in the middle of combat, then there's no stakes. Reducing it to a matter of seconds means that you could just hide around the corner and TP out, presumably to some dimension where you'd have a massive homeground advantage.

@Teoinsanity
Vehicles are probably much faster at moving from dimension to dimension. However, they come with the downside that you actually need to be in the vehicle in order to use it. As such, the time limitation is replaced with a place limitation.
Sorry Kurai. I really tried not to turn it into a fight. I really did.

In any case, I'm thinking the only chance Freelance has of escaping this situation is if Eric helps them. And even then it's going to be a seriously close call just to escape alive. You're facing Kami, Ved, and two Paladins.

A smoke grenade? Really? Kami could have killed North even as he retrieved the grenade from his utility belt. To the Oldblood, the movements seemed to occur in slow motion, a mockery of action performed by one who didn't understand how vastly outclassed he was. North threw the grenade to the ground, and Kami watched it go off motionlessly. The smoke spread, and North turned to run from his foes. He was going to rendezvous with his allies, even through the helmet Kami could easily hear the conversation take place. The entire event was silly, it was almost tiring. Previously, he would have acted sooner. He would have killed North the moment he had moved his hand towards his utility belt, broken his neck with a single gesture. But now, it seemed like a tedium to defeat such a weak opponent.

Kami locked onto North with his suit's many additional sensor arrays. He could see the infrared and ultraviolet shadows cast by the large metallic suit. With advanced sound sensors, he was able to easily triangulate North's position. Even the electromagnetic fields that surrounded the suit gave away North's position. Kami shot forward like a loosed arrow, accelerating to sprinting speeds instantly. Even as North were to emerge from the smoke, he would find Kami standing in front of him. Kami had the strength and speed of an Oldblood, and no longer was he limited by his suit. No longer was he tortured by the crucifixes affixed within. He was a god among men, capable of crushing steel with his bare hands and outspeeding a moving car.

North kept running, primal instincts taking over as he realized the strength of his opponent. It was a hopeless endeavour, human legs could never outrun an Oldblood. Even boosted by a mechanical suit, it was mere mortal technology. And Kami had had quite enough of such trivial dealings.

He flew past, his feet digging into the ground and leaving craters from the force of their impact. He was next to the Humvee in an instant, and grabbed onto it with one hand. He shot a look back at North, even as the soldier rushed up towards what he had believed was his escape.

[Very well. Witness, the consequences of your choice.]

Using one hand, Kami pushed the car upwards. The two ton vehicle briefly lifted above the ground, spinning 180 degrees. It came down, wrong side up, it's chassis collapsing under it's own weight. Allison was trapped within by the twisted metal, and had she not been wearing her armour she would have been crushed to death. Kami simply turned back to North, even as he felt anger boil within him. He had given them every chance, every option. He had given them Mercy. Now they would feel Wrath.

[Ved. I want them alive. Break their arms and legs, we will then take them to HQ. Kill them only if you must.] Kami nearly growled, as he stalked towards North. The man had foolishly made himself a mouthpiece for Freelance, and would face Kami's personal anger. [Now allow me to show you why the meek must not anger the strong. You have refused the Law of the Land. You have refused the Law of God. So allow me to introduce you to the one Law left. The Law of Nature, the Law of the Strong. Allow me to introduce you to the fate of weaklings who attempt to stand up to me, the Lord of Death.] For the first time, emotion permeated Kami's monotone. His robotic voice seemed to shift, becoming deeper and more gravelly. He was pissed.

------------

Ford had sat at a distance, presumably observing. However, now that was no longer an option. One of the Paladins shot towards him, brandishing it's shield and sword as it advanced on the Freelance soldier. Without his sniper rifle, Ford would have little in the way of protection. And yet, he was faced with the righteous hulk of metal, storming towards him like a 4 ton battering ram.
I have once more found this thread. Sorry for having disappeared so suddenly and mysteriously, and hope I didn't cause any inconveniences. I will write up a character.
@Legion-114
A direct connection? What's that supposed to mean?

And how could a vampire be born? They're not biologically alive, and as such can't give birth to children (or impregnate women.) Good thing too, or Gabriel would have knocked up half the planet.

In all sincerity, I think you're trying to make Alucard a massive thing. But he's only about 400, maybe 450 years old. That means he doesn't even fulfill the requirements to be a proper Oldblood.

Here's my suggestion. What if the reason Alucard was locked up wasn't because he had some kind of direct connection to Satan (because he doesn't currently canonically exist in this universe, and neither do the rest of the Biblical caste), but rather because he was the vampire equivelant of a prodigy? At his age he should just be a fairly powerful vamp, but not on Oldblood level. But he has powers far beyond what he should, and was able to match or even surpass other Oldbloods. As such, he was locked up by the other vamps in order to limit him. You could even state they framed him for a certain crime to excuse their decision, which would also explain why they didn't just kill him.
I'm going to start writing up things I think should be in the OP.

Dimension Shifting:
Within the grand Multiverse exist a myriad of universes. Among those who live within these realms, there are a number that have seemingly at random been granted the capability to shift from reality to reality. They can walk between the many universes of HCL, allowing them to go on grand adventures. It's these people that may eventually determine the fate of the Multiverse. However, dimension shifting isn't instant, and it isn't easy.

In order to move from one dimension to another, you must be able to concentrate. The process usually takes about a minute, and any interruptions during that time period will prevent you from transporting. There are also many magic spells, or sciency dimensional anchors that might prevent you from leaving or entering a certain reality.
@Lady Athena
Again, everything goes. To quote Tyki:
"Do whatever the f*ck you want!"

HCL is a free-for-all roleplay where you can play characters you made up, alongside characters from alternate fictional universes. We've had everything ranging from Angels, Gods, Minecraft Characters, and plenty of Crazy Scientists. We even had a character from Blood Compact show up in here ^^

You wanna play an 8-year-old with the power to summon giant teddy bears of doom? Go ahead. You wanna play a bloodstained veteran of many wars, punisher-style? Go for it!

@kishin Asura

Suggestions are always welcome. You needn't even ask ^^
@Legion-114

What the Hell is a vampire primarch?

I mean, we have Oldbloods, Sire Kings, Newbloods, and the Elder Council. Are we really adding new titles to the list? And what does that particular title even signify?
@Kurai Assassin@hagroden@DiZL ReloadeD
[You seem to be under the impression that your ignorance grants forgiveness. In truth, it merely makes you a fool in addition to a criminal. Your failure to recognize your enemy does not alter the actions you took, your motives do not belay your sins. You speak of your wars with HIVE as if that, in and of itself, were not a criminal offense.] Kami gestures, and one of the paladins steps on the truck they were previously driving. With a single push, the entire structure is forced to collapse. [By the law of this land, you are to be arrested and locked away. By the law of man, you are to be slaughtered in retribution. Only in the Law of God, the absolute law, can you find any hope of forgiveness.]

Kami then does something unexpected. He turns his sword around, and drops it to the ground. The blade sinks to the hilt into the rock, as if it had been dropped into warm butter. [I am willing to compromise, to grant you a mercy beyond what you deserve. Whilst by all rights you should be dragged back in chains, I will instead follow you to your base. I will speak to your leader, and I will attempt to end this fight without further bloodshed.] He steps forward, now unarmed. [Your organization will be disbanded. It is the only way to maintain the peace. We cannot have criminal organizations fighting over vendettas. Both you and HIVE will be dealt with, in the most peaceful way we can manage. Those among you with righteous intentions may join us in our cause, and take up arms for the betterment of mankind. But there will be no war between humans. Not while a far more sinister enemy plots behind the scenes.]

Kami's stance was firm, and he would not budge from this chosen view. Many would peg Kami as a warrior. But he was also a tactician, and he knew very well that a peaceful solution was best. In order to stave of the powers of vampirism, all of humanity would need to unite under one flag. Anything less would pale before the coming storm. [Ved, you are hereby named Warleader of the Purge. You will lead the Crusaders in any conflicts that may arrive in my absence, and protect America from heretic and demon alike. I trust that you will not fail me in this duty, and that you will not engage in pointless bloodshed. Our enemy is cunning, and he is to be found in every shadow. Do not forget that. He will strike when we are weakest, and we are not to allow ourselves weakness.]

The threat to the Pope of Flames was completely ignored. Should Hive seek to eliminate the Pope, they would find themselves hardpressed to escape alive. After all, the Pope was nothing more than a puppet for the true leader of the Purge. A mouthpiece, a martyr, and bait. If either Hive or the vampires struck at the Pope, their actions would lead to their own demise. Of course, Kami was also well aware that Hive had no motive to work against the Purge. They were an organization that was almost as adamantly opposed to the supernatural as the Purge was, and their recent actions were uncharacteristically hostile. After Freelancer was disbanded, Kami would make a point of once more befriending Hive. They had less power in America, but their connections and presence in other countries was significantly greater than that of the Purge.
@Lady Athena
Hiya

All species are allowed. The basic concept is a Multiverse, in which there are a variety of different realities. Each reality has it's own rules and laws, and has it's own inhabitants.

You can play everything ranging from a vampire to a fairy to a God.
