I'm pretty sure the Purge are kinda busy right now. I mean, the world is kinda being threatened by an army of Ghouls.
Posted for the Purge fighting against the Ghoul plague. I vote we call these creatures Ghouls. Not vamps, because they're too different, and they're not quite zombies either. So Ghouls.
@Legion-114
Alarms rang across the country. A massive zombie outbreak had been confirmed across the entire nation of America, thousands of infected individuals emerging from the hospitals of the world. They infected those nearby, and continued to spread and grow. It was a plague of death, a cancer that rapidly spread and consumed all in it's path. However, even as this cancer began to take hold, there was a single force that stood before them. The clatter of armour could be heard, the ringing of church bells across the nation. Battlecries and prayers side by side, as the full military might of the Purge mobilized.

In Oklahoma, as well as several other cities, the infection was instantly wiped out. As the infected emerged, large amounts of holy vapour shot out of every corridor. Specially mounted release valves across the city released a cloud that covered the entire city, wrapping everything in the deadly divine fog. The foul demons burned, even as Crusaders marched forth and cut them down. Weakened and burning they were swiftly eliminated, unable to stand up against the preparations that the Purge had made. However, many other cities were not nearly so lucky. For only a few cities had been converted by the Purge, and many remained without the automatic fog generators.

Creatures swarmed the streets, even as Purge agents marched into battle. Batallions of warriors marched side by side, slicing through the enemy lines with their longswords even as waves of fog and flame washed over the enemy. Strange and mutated creatures ripped into the Purge ranks, beating their way through the Purge's thick armoured plating. The Purge refused to die, and yet were swiftly turned by the hyperinfectious abominations. Many were cooked alive inside their suits, the very armour and weapons they wielded killing them before they could become a threat. Those that didn't were slain by their comrades, only a momentary prayer said over their corpse.

In some cities, the Purge prevailed. Beating back superior numbers with great preparation and superior weaponry. Their every weapon was devoted to killing vampires, and it was what they did best. Their armour burned the creatures at a touch, their weapons burned the very flesh from their bones. And yet often it was not enough. Claws, acid and blades ripped through armoured plating. A gruesome slime forced it's way through the eye holes of a Crusader, as the man inside was eaten alive. But they did not scream as they fell. Rather, they shouted for their comrades to go on without them. To remain vigilant, and to carry on their names.

Entire cities were lost. Los Angles and Seattle were overwhelmed by the creatures. They had refused to cooperate with the Purge and were being torn to shreds by this vampire threat. Texas was infested, a continuous battle ranging from across the state as the vile creatures were being pushed back. But it was not a time for panic. It was a time for war, a glorious war. And even as the great Annihilation Shrines set out to purify those cities that had been lost to this demonic cancer, one thing was certain. The Purge would not allow humanity to fall on this day. And every death, every scream, was a hardwon battle.

This day, the Purge, who so many had despised, stepped up to save mankind.

Don't worry about it. This might be even more interesting, as Freelance is given the chance to escape with no downsides. But if they don't, the same trick won't work twice. And if they help Eric, Kami and Ved would most likely not spare them.
@Shikaru
As Eric reached into Kami's mind, he found something equal parts confusing and disturbing. First, he found the methodical and clear thoughts of a killer. The inhumanly fast thought processes, as Kami processed all the information around him instantly. It was like a waterfall of thoughts to wade through, as Eric tried to anchor himself. However, as Eric spoke, he began to dig deeper. He managed to take a closer look at the stream, to begin to comprehend even Kami's hyper-fast thought process. And between the cold and emotionless evaluation, he found impurities. Small streaks of colour between the grey. Pride and anger, distaste and frustration. They would have been normal in any other mind, save for how starkly they contrasted with their environment. Like a coffee stain in a pure white room.

Following the stream, Eric dug deeper into Kami's psyche. It was as much curiosity as necessity that drove him, as he realized that he might never find a mind even similar to that of this strange being. And as he did, he came to a great wall. It was a massive mental barrier, erected within Kami's mind. It was huge, and heavily reinforced. Ancient but strong, capable of withstanding serious punishment. And yet, there seemed to be tiny cracks in the wall. From these cracks flowed multicoloured light, the source of the impurities in the stream. It was behind this barrier that Kami had somehow locked his emotions.

And then it was that Eric discovered something truly astounding. It had been there all along, and yet it had taken him this long to truly comprehend it's scope, to truly realize what it was he was dealing with. And in that moment of comprehension, Eric felt himself trembling in fear.

Back in the real world, Eric came to a sudden halt. Midsentence he simply paused, taking a step back with a horrified expression on his face. For what he had seen in the depths of Kami's mind would change his world forever. The information he now possessed might be the only thing standing between the world, and utter annihilation. And yet, even as Kami's head jerked towards him, Eric knew that Kami knew that he knew. And Eric knew that Kami would kill him for the knowledge he possessed.

@Kurai Assassin@DiZL ReloadeD

It was this strange series of events that distracted Kami far more than the Pelican did. North didn't know what had caused Kami to suddenly focus on Eric, and what had caused Eric to pause, but he would happily abuse the distraction. A bubble shield formed around Kami, locking him off from the rest of the world. He seemed to growl, as he punched the sudden wall of energy that had appeared before him. The field wavered, but didn't budge. Kami shouted out orders, as he unleashed a rain of blows on the bubble of energy, attempting to shatter it with brute force. And it was clear that the shield would soon give away under the sheer force of the blows, dozens of punches being thrown in mere seconds and each with the power to tear through metal.

[Attack him! Kill the halfbreed, ignore the others! Whatever happens, he must die!]

Needing no further prompting, the two Paladins charged Eric, completely ignoring Freelance as it escaped the premises. However, they descended on Eric with speed and strength, and it was only through his timely use of stealth technology that Eric avoided becoming the meaty filling of a Mech Soldier Sandwich. And even then he could see the Paladins attempting to track him. Using the sound of his footsteps, the slight movements in the air. He would have a hard time escaping, even with stealth tech.
@Kurai Assassin

How do you throw that at someone? I want to know because I'm trying to figure out how Kami would react to being trapped in one of these things, which I can only do if I know what they are and how they work.

Is the shield magnetic, or gravitational, or is it just solid energy?
Kurai, could you stop jumping ahead without giving me time to react? If you don't stop doing so, I will be forced to simply ignore your posts and post my reaction to the original action. Which will then mean you have to edit everything that comes after.

This is beginning to really annoy me.
The Hell is a Bubble Shield anyway?
@Kurai Assassin
Yeah, well. The cyborg ninja is strong in him.
@Kurai Assassin
What do you mean? Kami is currently fighting North and the Freelancers.
