Due to Ysmir's attempted murder, Jake is unable to reply to either of these comments, having retreated from battle.

Jake simply disappears without a trace, in a pruplish shimmer, without a sound. At the same time, Ysmir finds himself encased in a steel harness, with small holes for breathing, which is then reinforced by bands of titanium running horizontally across the human-shaded coffin. An effective and powerful restraint, while not lethal, sufficient to hold the psychotic mage, thinksJake from his perch outside the bar, before disappearing once more into the Vault.

Jake looked at the tiny elf sternly, his fists balling into fists. "You are threatening me with violence in order to break the law. If you truly wished to adopt the child, you could perfectly legally have signed the papers, and become her foster parent. However, instead, you will fight me to prevent her from being led to the safety of the government. Forgive me if I do not believe your word after you have so blatantly lied about yourself before."
Kami smiled down at Abbadon. "Ah, dearie, you're here. It's about time. You've already met Appolyon, have you not?" Not waiting for an answer, Kami continued, her tones layered with false sweetness. "Now, you must be from Hope. Don't worry, I have no wish to interrogate you. However, I would love to hear your opinions. Say, what would you feel about world peace?"

"I can remove it, but that doesn't mean I drink it. If you get drunk, the damage is done so drinks like that hold no pleasure for me....as for the window thing...." He says, moving his left arm around as if sore. "Some highway men got the drop on me and I needed a quick escape...or I may of been a Swiss elf." He says.
"A mage fearing highwaymen? How many were there, two hundred? Are you attempting to insult me? If you wish to lie to me so badly, at least make the pretense of believability."
