The girl simply smiles. "Stubborn." her mind leaves, before she simply blinks. Somehow, that simple act carries a massive weight, and you can feel the magic collapse. The coin is still in your hand, but the menu is gone, and the girl is smiling at you. "Come back any time!" With that, she simply walks back into the building.
As you attempt to connect to her mind, you find it to be completely inaccessible. While she quite clearly has a soul, her mind is completely different from any sentient being you have ever encountered, alien to human reasoning. However, as you do this, suddenly, it's as if something shifts, and she herself starts pouring into your mind. Fear bounces off of her harmlessly, as if the very emotion were alien to her, useless against this strange creature. A being beyond fear, incapable of feeling it, passing through your defenses as if they were water, as you can feel her icy cold hands on your face. "Beware what you seek, or it shall be granted to you."
The girl gives the sweetest smile. "Where do you think the food comes from?" The girl is soaked now, her hair dripping with water. The water pooling at her bare feet is slightly greenish in color, and the smell of whet dirt strengthens as it drips, having become almost overwhelming. The magic seems to have reached it's peak, and it's an odd magic, far different from that used by most beings, making it impossible to gauge it's strength. It seems to partially exist only in your mind, and yet it also seems quite strongly attached to the coin.
The girl simply giggles. "No other costs whatsoever. You pay a quarter, and you get what you want. That's the deal." At the sight of the quarter, the magic only increases, seeming to focus around the coin as if it were some sort of magical symbol, despite not possessing any real magic. However, you do feel oddly wet, and the girl seems to be shimering slightly. She's clearly the source of the magic.
Surprisingly, these specific items are very soon on the list, requiring only a few readings to get to. With each reading, it got closer to what Maxwell wanted, until he read his entire order on a single page. The moment this occured, the green-haired girl reappeared from the cafe once more, walking over to your table, still smiling. "I see you've made your choice. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay beforehand. The price, however, is but a quarter." She smiles, cocking her head, and holding out her hand for the price she had named, expectantly. However, as she does, there's a strong feeling of magic in the air.
Could this please be revived?
The girl nods, without even the slightest hint of fear. "Of course!" She instantly places a rather short menu on the table. "Please feel free to browse. I'll be back once you've decided what to order!" She then walks off, still blissfully oblivious, entering the cafe's main building once more. You can see her through the windows, cleaning tables and moving around dishes, although there doesn't seem to be an actual cook. The menu itself is comprised of fairly simple things, standard for a cafe to offer. However, as you're done reading it, your interest is caught. Once you had finished reading, and started reading from the top once more, you see the menu has changed, and it continues to do so each time you finish reading.
