@Acid HippieWell now that I look a little closer, there are a few differences. My RP was going to be more of a direct sendup to battle school shounen anime and its cliches, where yours seems to be more generally inspired by them (also the way I did the energy stuff was kinda similar but not the same). Still, I think they're more similar than they are different

Also, a couple questions

1: Does this RP exist in the real world, or is it its own made up world?

2: In this world, what would you say the most powerful and/or prestigious position in this world is? Y'know, this story's equivalent of the Hokage or Pirate King or something

3: Would you be bothered if I ended up making an RP with very similar ideas after or during this one? I'm probably gonna join this RP, but I don't want my own stuff I've worked on to go to waste, y'know? (I could PM you what I've written so far)

Aw man, this RP is practically the exact same idea as the one I've been working on and was planning on making (except this one is way more fleshed out and detailed). Like, I even used very similar wording in the opening description for the thread that I was working on

As for your RPs, why don't you tell people what your RP is about?

It's an open world, freeform, massive crossover RP. It takes place in an alternate universe called the Multiverse, where characters from all over different series (chosen and played by the players, of course) appear and explore the world and meet each other. It's meant to be fun overall as well as not too heavy on plot, which will mainly be dictated by the players in whatever way they want it to go

The Multiverse

Name: The Doctor

Series character originates from: Doctor Who

Gender: Male

Personality: While the surface traits of his personality changes from regeneration to regeneration, at his core the Doctor is almost always quirky, silly, sarcastic, witty and always looking for adventure and to help people whenever they need it. However, he also has a very serious, almost frightening side of him if you push the right buttons

Appearance: (11th incarnation)


Affiliation (either good/evil/other, or use the D&D character alignment chart): Isn't particularly consistent, but tends to be either neutral or chaotic good

Description of abilities: The Doctor has the ability to "regenerate", which means when in the middle of dying, he can regenerate his body back to complete health. However, this takes a few seconds to do, and it comes with a physical and psychological change, so he won't look or act the same after doing it, and he almost always avoids doing it unless he absolutely has to. Also, as a result of traveling throughout all time and space for over 1000 years, The Doctor has a working knowledge of seemingly everything in the known universe, most notably time. He is also very skilled at making up plans as he goes, a la Indiana Jones

Description of weapons and equipment: The Doctor has his TARDIS, which is a mechanism that he uses to transport himself through time and space (though for the sake of fairness, the time travel aspect will be removed). He also has a Sonic Screwdriver, which has a multitude of small uses, such as opening locks or making scans of certain things

Name: John 117, AKA Master Chief

Series character originates from: Halo

Gender: Male

Personality: Master Chief is a man of few words. He is quiet, calm and just a bit cynical and sarcastic when the situation calls for it. He is mostly professional, always focusing on the task at hand and avoids getting sidetracked. Most of his emotions ended up being suppressed during his SPARTAN augmentations, so he is not very emotive

Appearance:

Affiliation (either good/evil/other, or use the D&D character alignment chart): Lawful good

Description of abilities: Master Chief has undergone many cybernetic enhancements, which have enhanced his abilities in many different ways, most notably enhanced strength, agility, logic, eyesight and bone durability

Description of weapons and equipment: Master Chief carries many weapons, most of which he will gain later on in the RP. He will start with the standard MA5B Assault Rifle and the M6D Magnum to start with. His armor is made out of a thick, high quality metal that weighs one ton, and he has built in energy shields that can absorb a certain amount of energy before needing to recharge

Name: Anthony "Tony" Stark, AKA Iron Man

Series character originates from: Marvel Cinematic Universe (this will be specifically the version of Iron Man that is from the recent movies, not the comics. I don't know as much about the comics as I would like to)

Gender: Male

Personality: Tony Stark is a very vain, self absorbed billionaire. He has an intensely large sarcastic streak, and constantly puts on a stylish, nothing-affects-me partygoer, devil-may-care persona most of the time. However, underneath all is a genuine desire to help people and be heroic...some of the time

Affiliation (either good/evil/other, or use the D&D character alignment chart): Difficult to place, either Lawful Good or Neutral Good

Description of abilities: Tony Stark is a genius (billionaire playboy philanthropist) mechanic, smart enough to graduate from MIT at 17. He's also a decent tactician

Weapons and equipment: The Mark VII Iron Man suit is a full body suit of armor, filled with many gadgets and weapons. There are repulsor rays in the palms of the hands and feet of the armor, which grant him the ability to fly as well as knock things around. He also has a numerous amount of weapons hidden in various parts of his suit, including missile launchers, guns and lasers. He also has other items hidden in it, such as flares

The Multiverse

DESCRIPTION OF WORLD
From all over different universes, characters have resided in dimensions from books, movies, comics, television shows, video games and more. However, there is one being that exists within the crossroads of every one of these universes, who has named himself "The Overlord". He is a faceless being of nearly infinite power, living in a realm named "The Multiverse". This mysterious Overlord enjoys bringing various characters from secluded universes and watching how they would react with each other, as if they were toys. He has been monitoring the beings that reside within the other universes, deciding on which characters were worthy enough to be brought into his realm

The Multiverse itself is made up of all sorts of settings, structures, biomes and buildings from all sorts of time periods. From the old west, to modern day, to medieval Japan, to the future. There are townhouses, castles, caves, skyscrapers, tree houses, and so much more. They tend to group together by type with appropriate terrain nearby but they also shift and move around the city as a whole. Entire structures appear and disappear, either by itself or by the Overlord's will. Above the ground level is a vast, open area of space. There are multiple planets that will appear, varying in size, location and environments. Atmosphere and other related subjects are not an issue for these planets, anyone can survive on them. There is also a very massive space station floating around in space, which is big enough to be seen from miles. It has many sections for anyone to place their ships in

Whenever a new character arrives from their home universe, they wake up in the Multiverse. It's alright to bring a base/dwelling place, a companion or whatever else the character normally has with them within reason. If they have some kind of communication device that they normally use, they will find that it now has a strange button on it. If they do not, they will receive one related to their theme and home universe. Once they arrive in the Multiverse, they will receive a message on the communication device that will say as follows: "Hello [character's name here], I am the Overlord and you have been transported to my Multiverse. If you look on this [name of communication device], you will notice that there is a new button on it that reads 'random'. When you press it, a number between 1 and 20 will appear on the screen. If the number's 11-20, something good will happen, if the number's 1-10, something bad will happen. Have fun!" The characters will also function on the laws of their home universe (So anime physics for anime characters, video game physics for video game characters, etc.)

RULES AND GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE RP
This is going to be a fairly laid back RP. The plot will more or less be created (or not be created, depending on how it goes) by the players as it goes along, I will not be particularly strict about the rules, and everything will just be done in service of having the most fun. However, there are a few things I want to avoid happening in the RP

1: Have proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Don't make yourself look like a n00b

2: No god modding or power playing

3: I don't want every single one of the characters to gather together in a single place and meet each other, that has been disastrous in previous versions of this RP. Meeting up in small groups of 3, 4 or even 5 is preferable

4: If you can, try to choose characters that are more generally popular and well known. If you play as an obscure character that no one has heard of before, it makes people less interested and willing to RP with you

4: Past versions of this RP have fallen into inactivity, and I feel like the reason for this is because too often, people play as nice, passive, heroic characters. I would really appreciate it if a good amount of players joined as active villains. Y'know, characters that mess with others, cause conflict and fuck things up. You can play as villainous masterminds that try to hatch massive evil schemes across the entire Multiverse, just small time villains that like to fuck with people, or anywhere in between. Just in general, try to avoid playing passive characters that wait for things to happen to them, and instead try to make things happen yourself

5: You're not allowed to choose stupidly powerful characters. You know who I'm talking about, characters that can alter reality with a snap of their fingers, or characters that are so strong and so skilled that you have no hope of doing anything at all to them. Characters like Superman, Goku, etc. Keep it at least somewhat fair. Now I will be a little lenient on this however, as I understand that playing powerful characters can be fun. But if you really want to play as characters like this, try to think of a way to limit their powers so that they're not completely unbeatable

7: You're not allowed to choose any people that actually exist in real life, fan characters from an existing fiction, or completely original characters. Keep it to pre created, non existing characters

8: You are allowed to play as many characters as you want. However, be smart about it: if you don't think you have the ability to juggle too many characters, put a personal character limit on yourself

9: Keep in mind that there will be fighting in the RP, so I would suggest playing a character that's good at fighting, or at least can protect themselves some other way
