I have an idea for a superhero that has a very interesting twist to him.

But my superhero is not technically a superhero. I like to go the more 'grounded' route. My superhero uses trained skills, his tactical thinking, and gadgets to assist him in his missions.

I'm not sure if I want to go with:
1. He is a normal human, just damn good at what he does, or
2. He was gravely injured, but cybernetic implants saved his life and enhanced his body.

You know what? No. I got an idea for a superhero and I've been thinking about it a lot lately.

He gets his ass whooped all the time. He may get about 1 or 2 punches in, but he pretty much gets his ass whooped the entire time until someone else deals with that particular villain. He's cannon fodder, except he has that one shred of luck that keeps him alive.
@Heat: Your character may be doing whatever they like at the moment. This was the problem I had to face, cause I didn't want all the characters just suddenly congregating in a single moment at the very beginning of the RP. I'm not sure how long it will take before I can actually build up the whole team. You technically don't even have to post until that particular moment I come for you, or you can actually come to me instead, whatever works for you.

@rocketrobie2: Posts may be of any length. First IC posts are always longer than your average post, so mine will probably be shorter.
*facepalm*

Well damn... the IC was a rough draft that I changed, and LadyKnight's character had already been written into it and I guess I forgot to alter that. I reckon I'll just use her with permission, let me ask LadyKnight. sorry, I've barely had ANY sleep this week.

Ain't sure you guys care, but....

@HellOfALife: Frances' Geomancy power sounded a bit curious. Maybe tone it down some? To me, it sounds like could practically shift the entire surface of a planet. I think it would be better if this sort of power was minimized to a sort of 'Earthbending'. Basically, the same thing as Geomancy, just on a smaller scale. See what you can work with and get back to me on it.

Raeli, however seems to be unique and I think her hacking expertise could prove useful to the squad.

Are my sheets accepted?

I'll be on that soon enough... sorry!
Oh, should we do an introduction type post? For example, should I write a post about Hessta completing some job before he meets up with Six?

Hessta's pretty much doing his own thing at the moment. You technically don't even have to post until Six starts looking for you. I just didn't want all the players to 'suddenly congregate' by sheer chance, but at the same time I didn't know what everyone else should do while I'm out looking for other characters. If you wanna speed things along, Hessta could technically be looking for Six himself, and the two meet up that way.

I intend to recruit at least one person for every post I make. If not, then I'll be recruiting a character every other post, and the posts in between will probably be about traveling. It'll probably take longer than expected to be honest; we may be past page 1 (maybe even 2) before the whole team actually gets assembled.
Don't worry guys, I don't usually write that much! This is just the first IC, so...

Hessta will probably be solo for a a little while, yeah, but not for TO long. Six is going to be recruiting the most obvious people first. For example, he's recruiting a Amynta, a medic of sorts, first and foremost.

Also, some of you may be deemed hostiles at first. Such as Alpha. But don't worry, I;m sure things will smoothen out (hopefully).

Through the scope of his rifle a deadly assassin observed two figures enter through a doorway. They were in a skyscraper about two blocks away; the sniper was well-hidden in the cold, dark, and rainy night. Hover cars and personal flyers zipped by back and forth through the skyscrapers while the street lights illuminated most of the areas below. But none of that bothered the high-ranking personnel in the tower. A well-placed shot could have easily ended the life of both individuals, but only one of them was the target. The sniper sat calmly, his trigger-finger motionless, his breaths long and quiet. Finally, one of the men left the room, closing the door behind him. The assassin waited... and waited... and waited... about ten seconds went by before he finally began to squeeze the trigger. A loud, far-reaching 'boom' erupted throughout the night. It would have been hard to hear with all the traffic and the rain, but it wasn't exactly quiet.

After observing the man's body through his scope the assassin lifted up his rifle and took a deep breath. Mission accomplished, he thought to himself.

"Identification: John Taylors. Entry: confirmed. Thank you." The robotic voice sounded off and the elevators doors opened up. The smell of a clean office rushed into the confined area and the lone individual stepped out of the elevator and into the room. The office was a semi-circle, on the north-side of the building; the entire wall was nothing but a large curved window, overlooking the bustling metropolis of Corvais below. The metallic-gray ceiling and floor, and the matching desk and chair gave off a sleek, slender, and professional look to the whole office. The chair was facing out of the window, and the figure sitting in it was patiently awaiting his visitors.

"That's the last one, Dax," the newcomer said. "Why didn't you tell me he had a daughter? Now she's going to grow up without a-"

"Does that really matter, John?" The man in the chair slowly spun around. He was an old guy, but not to old. while wrinkled, his skin was relatively healthy. His hair was ash-gray, neatly fixed, and his dark blue eyes still had some gleam in them. "How many fathers have you killed before? How many brothers, sons, and nephews?"

"Yeah well... that's the last time, Dax. I've had enough of these business dealings. I came to you for a reason, and if you can't fulfill your end of the bargain then I can't fulfill mine."

Dax laughed off John's angst. He sighed and started sifting through the paperwork on his desk. "You know how the game works. In order for me to provide the weapons, the funds, and the ordinance you require to fight Gortex, I need the proper business partners to invest in my business. Everything's a game, John, you just have to move the right pieces at the right time."

John shook his head and sighed loudly. "Well, enough with business... let's get back to my previous mission. You said you had something urgent, something to do with Gortex? Did you find a lead on him?"

Dax ignored John for a few moments before finally picking up a small thumb-sized computer drive. "Unfortunately not. But I have the next best plan." Dax held up the drive with his index and thumb fingers.

John looked at the drive for a few seconds before finally asking, "this had better have some coordinates on it."

"It comes with plenty. But none of them are Gortex." John sighed and was about to interrupt but not before Dax hopped up out of chair and leaned forward. "You're not the only one after Gortex, John. Don't forget why I put that gun in your hand." There was a moment of silence as the two individuals faced one another. "This drive... it has very important- very classified files on it. Level 10 access only, but I've already made sure my personal receptionist allowed you that privilege. And it is Strattix-coded, meaning it is only recognized on Strattix drivers."

John took the drive from Dax's hands and observed it for a moment before asking, "what's on it, exactly?"

Dax sat back down in his chair. "You're not the only one after Gortex John, and time is running short. Your efforts have done us a tremendous help, but I'm afraid you can't do this alone. The idea is for you to build a team composed of anyone who could aid you in your quest. That drive there, it contains the names, known histories, and backgrounds of dozens of potential candidates. Not only that, but very important information on potential hostiles, threats, and persons of interest. The fate of the Republic, possibly even the galaxy, rests in the hands of you and your allies."

John shook his head, a bit hesitant to agree to this. But Dax was right, if he really needed to go after Gortex, he was going to need more help. "Alright... I'll get right on it..." John nodded his head to Dax, turned, and walked back towards the elevator. As the doors opened, Dax called back, "John, be careful about opening those files. You may not want to see what's in some of them." By then John had already entered the elevator and the doors began to close...

15 Minutes later
Location: Corvais, Strattix Headquarters, Private Docking Station 3

John sat in the seat of the sleek Phoenix-3, specially-crafted for important missions, given to John by Dax himself. As he prepped the ship for take-off he plugged in the drive to the ship's computer. "Welcome back, Agent Six," the AI said. "Would you like me to decrypt and analyze the files on this drive?"

"Yes, Ellie," John said. 'Ellie' was actually LE-10, an artificial intelligence that assisted John in his travels ever since he began working for Dax Strattix.

"Decryption in progress." As the computer screen show the files being collected and decrptyed, John began to lift Phoenix-3 off the ground. The engines were turned downwardsm allowing the ship to slowly rise. With all traffic clear he engaged the forward controls and the ship began to move forward. As soon as he was sure everything was clear, the ship zoomed towards the traffic of the city. He easily transferred into the stream of other vehicles, zipping through the corridors of the overhanging buildings. "Decryption complete. Assumption: Mr. Strattix has assigned you to become acquainted with 'Candidates List' and assassinate 'Hostiles List'."

"Any recommendations?"

"Closest Candidate: Amynta Lianez. Mixed species. 25. The file implies she lives in an apartment here on Corvais. Assumed talents include medical skills."

"Perfect, set up the best route to get to her apartment. She's first on the list. Anyone we should be worried about?"

"Potential Hostile: Alpha. Hydraxien. 16. The file implies Alpha is a potential threat. He is from Hydra-4, but a genetic mutation has allowed him individuality. If allowed to make contact with Gortex, Alpha may propose an alliance. Having a species like the Hydraxiens as enemies could prove troublesome. Recommend immediate extermination of Alpha."
I might be able to get an IC up here soon.

Won't be perfect... but I really ain't got a lot of time to plan it. And it's better to do it now than later before this RP stales.
Perhaps a co-GM could be useful, but I ain't never done a RP like that so I'd be new to the operation of it. I might let someone co-host as soon as I get the bios finished.

@Schradinger: Very interesting, clever, and new. Good job. Mortimer is accepted.

@Deadcruiser: I didn't see any weapons on your character. The mecha will prove useful in some scenarios, but I ain't so sure Kiril will be of much use in other scenarios. I usually complain about age, but I can let this one slide, especially since Kiril is being aided largely in part by his ship. But right now, accepted, though you may want to consider some weapons (unless you're playing a different role).

@Balthazar: Tayla's bio seems alright, but the format was a bit odd. Still, accepted. Glad you took the course of using swords. Makes it more varied.

@rocketrobie2: Midas seems to be an interesting addition to the team, and I like the Bandit pistol. Accepted. Hopefully, he can haggle Dax Strattix to catch us some pretty good deals.

@Sheikarah: Hessta will be a welcomed addition to the group. You don't see many scimitars.

@HellOfALife: I'll check up on those bios tomorrow, maybe.

If all goes well, I'll finish bios tomorrow, maybe post an IC (I have a rough-draft) either tomorrow or Thursday. I am going to see Guardians of the Galaxy Wednesday, so that's gonna really give me a good push into this roleplay.

If anyone here is worried that I am accepting 'overpowered' characters, worry not. Trust me, everyone's going to have their fair share of trouble in this RP. Nobody's going to be able to do things alone, you're going to have to work as a team, follow orders, and improvise.

Also, since it will take some time for Six to actually get to each member and recruit them, some of you will be flying solo for a little while at the beginning of the RP. Six is going to recruit the more usual members first before moving on to other potential members. As an example, Six doesn't know a whole lot about Alpha, so he's probably going to be building up a team before he even thinks about trying to contact the Hydraxien; it's only practical.
