Thanks for answering teapotshark (you do have a strange username). I haven't yet decided if I want Joric to go with you or not. I kind of don't want him to go because I don't want every character hanging onto him throughout the RP. I like for the players to make decisions based on what their characters would do, not just blindly follow the host's character throughout the course of the RP.
Oh, I hadn't yet read the IC to see that Athinar really did burn down the inn.

Hmmm.... I don't like to restrict your freedom, but I don't know that I like the idea of burning down Night-Raven Inn at this moment; there's still some functionality in it that pertains to the storyline (and possibly the sequel).

Could you redo or edit your latest post Athinar? I'll be sure to let you burn something else down in the future. ;)

EDIT: And I was wondering if you guys are getting any sort of bad vibes from Joric... what do you think of him? What do you make of the greatsword on his back? And who do you think he is speaking to? If you didn't notice, he has to touch the hilt of the sword to speak to... whoever it is (no spoilers!).

EDIT2: And what do you think caused the earthquake at the keep?
My general idea for a character goes something like this:

He and his people were forced to flee their homeland years ago and settled these 'new lands'. These people are pagans with a warrior-ethos and simply want to raid, pillage, and loot everyone around them (similar to the Vikings). Their leader, however, is more level-headed. He wants his people to remain at peace, build up his forces and economy, and simply try to survive in this new land. He is also trying to convert his pagan people over to the church, but like an old habit their beliefs can be hard to push away. But how long before his practices cause unrest amongst his people?
First off let me say I am already hosting a RP and so this particular RP will not be hosted anytime soon (either until I finish my current RP or when I get everything going smoothly). Assuming, however, someone else wants to co-host this that would be fine as well. Otherwise, this is more or less to see what the general reaction is and to change things you don't like about it. (I like to plan my RP's out a lot).

Alright, inHuman (yes, it's stylized inHuman) takes place in an alternate reality. The year is 2014, and everything is pretty much the same, the only difference is the existence of inHumans. inHumans are born with extraordinary powers, and there have literally been millions of inHumans throughout history... but less than 1% of them have discovered their powers. In fact, there are a little over 100 inHumans who have actually discovered and used their powers, and even then most of them have kept it a secret (the Salem Witch Trials, for example, saw the killing of many inHumans and even non-inHumans).

In the modern-day, a secret organization (which I'll refer to as 'the Agency') has been tasked with tracking down and 'dealing' with rogue inHumans (terrorists and those who would use abuse their powers). So far the Agency has been successful at detaining these 'villains' and have managed to cover up the inciedents (blaming them on 'terrorist attacks' or 'suicide bombings'). The Agency's top asset is Six, which I'll explain below.

Now Six is different from most inHumans. He was once a non-inHuman, but the Agency acquired his body (among others) after a horrific accident and experimented on him. Subject Six does not remember much of anything since he suffers from amnesia (acquired from the accident), but the Agency has trained him and their experiments have given him a number of inHuman abilities. Ever since, Six has been tasked with tracking down virtually every modern would-be villain on the Earth and bringing them into custody. There's only one problem...

More and more people are discovering their powers. More inHumans are surfacing, and the amount of wrongdoers are growing. It's to much for the Agency to handle, and Six is beginning to face groups of inHumans who can easily overpower him. There's only one other option left: form his own team of inHumans and work together to defeat these rogues and would-be villains. Your character will have discovered his powers or not, but Six will train you to use them, and in the process you will go on missions solo, with groups, or even with Six himself to stop the rise of these bad inHumans.

More questions arise though...
-Who exactly is the Agency, and what are their actual goals?
-How will the growing threat of inHumans affect the world?
-How will the world's governments respond to these 'battles'?
I'd be interested, so long as I can see a full-OOC first.
I don't think the destruction of Night-Raven Inn flies very well, lol. It's like a national landmark almost.

But who's to say you can't bring down the keep after we're finished with it?
On a side-note, you guys can go to Valuun Keep whenever you want, but if you want until morning-time a certain someone will greet you before you leave.
As Joric took refuge in one of the rooms at the inn, so to did another newcomer: Serkan Stahlwurm. This particular half-elf mercenary was on his way to Valuun Keep, seeking his master, Ferran. If only Serkan knew what had become of his old master... Not to long after, a young woman entered the inn, seeking refuge as well; her sly trickery earned her a free room, albeit being able to pay for every room in the inn.

Other than those who decided to get a quick rest, some other interesting customers sought shelter from the torrential downpour of the outdoors. The first of these was Ireth Vardamir, an elven ranger seeking her glory at Valuun Keep. Not long after the young Leon Thorne arrived, informing Ireth of what he knew about the keep. The young Aveline Ronan wasn't far behind, deciding to purchase a meal and join in with the others; she was seeking her brother, Castan, at the keep. A beast of a man: Arkadi Vasile walked into the inn, almost as big if not bigger than Joric himself. Arkadi decided to fill his stomach with some pork while trying to pick up information on the keep, so the innkeeper allowed him to help himself. A wise mage walked in next; his name was Athinar Da' Danash, and he was obviously here to see what Valuun Keep had to offer, joining in with the others. The last fellow to walk in was Dale Gade, who promptly fell flat on the floor. The innkeeper looked at him curiously.

"Have you any rooms and a bath to trade for some quality eggs," asked Dale.

The innkeeper blinked his eyes for a moment before replying, "well, we just received a shipment of some supplies, but I don't reckon we got any eggs in it. I... suppose a few eggs'll do; might even let'chu fix'em in the mornin'." The innkeeper shook his head and took one of the room keys. He handed it to Dale and told him "room's upstairs; we got one bath, water's probably cold, but what can you do, eh?" After finishing up with Dale, the innkeeper fixed some pork on a plate for Aveline.

Athinar, Leon, Ireth, and Aveline anxiously awaited the inn keeper's return. As he approached he passed Aveline's plate over to here and poured her a cup of drink while starting his tale. "One of my great ancestors built this here inn. Ain't sure why he built it here... reckon he thought he could serve all the would-be heroes on there way to the keep." He passed the mug to Aveline. "I seen people come and go on the Longroad when I was but a wee little lad; but I ain't never - in all my life - seen anyone come back outta that keep. In the rest of the world they may it's just tales and stories... but they ain't nowhere next to the truth. That there keep is cold, dangerous, and it ain't right. The earthquake we had here recently was from that keep, I know it - I can feel it in me bones. I ain't tellin you to not go in there... I'm just tellin ye it ain't such a good idea. But whatta I know, eh? I'm just a drunk innkeeper." The innkeeper started laughing as he walked away to tend to his other customers, including the group who had just taken a beating by Joric. They probably wouldn't mind sleeping with the horses for tonight.

Up above, in one of the rooms, Joric lie on his bed, eyes wide open. Below him he could hear murmurs, the opening of doors, and laughing. Obviously the inn had filled up with some new people. Curious, Joric slowly stood up, strapped his covered item on his back, and cautiously looked outside his door. No one was around, so he pushed it open. The door creaked, but that didn't matter. He took a few steps forward and looked down the strairs. A group of several adventuring-types sat at the bar and some of the tables.

Slowly, Joric reached his hand back and unraveled some of the cloth on the covered item. The hilt of a greatsword was revealed. The hilt was obsidian-black, decorated with hellish patterns and design, adorned with blood-red gemstones. He gripped the hilt with his hand and quietly whispered "they're here."

"AS I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD."

Joric shook his head, feeling a bit guilty, but he shook these thoughts from his head. He recovered the hilt, walked back to his room, and lay back on his bed, anticipating the morning.
Read all 8 posts. loved them all. My favorite line comes from Diggerton:
"He could feel the hostile glares of the locals, and judging by the state of the room someone had felt those stares in a more personal way rather recently."

I was sort of smiling to myself when I read that nearly everyone just walked right over those degenerates.

@thegreenleafe: I noticed you used the term Varan, which is good for... reasons I'll explain later.

Will post the next IC soon; feel free to post right after.

PS: Hope it doesn't bother anybody that I double/triple post in the OOC.
Okay, of all of the 8 people who are accepted, they have all posted.

Now I will read up on all 8 posts, then I'll post again. After that, everyone may post again.

See we were working on a Toyota truck. The thing is, they always blow a head gasket on the driver-side for some reason, so you have to tear it down and replace the gasket. But for some reason, when putting the cam bolts back on, they always strip. You're only suppose to torque them so much, and our torque wrench is probably off anyway, but it ends up stripping some of them. This time 2 stripped (1 stripped on the last one). So we had to stop, go buy a tapping set, and we gotta make some new threads in the holes, which can be a pain in itself. After that, we'll finish up putting everything back together, which should go smoothly. But then we still got one other truck after that, a van which needs a new radiator, and a small car that needs a new head on it (or something, not sure about that one). In the middle of all this, I gotta cut grass and haul the trash off, as well as babysit. So I can be quite busy during this time of the year, until it gets cold again.
