Yup, the RP will have very little, if not nothing in common with the game except for the setting. This RP is friendly to those who have never even played the game.

Think of it this way, the only thing in relation to the game this would have is the setting. I'm trying to make it so people that have never heard of the game can hop in and enjoy the RP.

That being said SMGs would do what a SMG would do in real life. And no you wouldn't be limited to just SMGs and pistols. If you wanted to you could carry anything from a Pistol to a LMG. Just don't expect to be jumping around as much lugging around a large machine gun.
