So Kagura will be approaching Yuki about starting a gardening club.

And Tohru will probably be helping Momiji settle into his own dorm room and getting used to the campus setting.

And it'll be like August or September? Did we have a year in mind? I think it was set back in the 90s or something like that?

Writing Death in These Pages

So I finally decided to give that Netflix movie "Death Note" a go but it was pretty bad acting and music and writing but it made me think about the anime (which I haven't rewatched in years) and how great it was. I was thinking I'd like to make my own Death Note RP but I have a premise that allows for both users of a Death Note to have to work together.

There is the notebook but there is also a special pen the uses a Shinigami's blood to work with the Death Note itself.

One person holds onto the pen and the other has the book, both people have to then come to an agreement to use the Death Note since one is useless without the other. Does one try to eventually steal the other item in order to fully control the Death Note? Will they make the world a better place or make push into a dark era run by fear and paranoia?

I want there to be a balance of slice of life and mystery and thrills. I am not in the mood for knockoff characters like Misa or Light or L. I don't want the smartest loner and a star teaming up together to take down a genius detective who likes potato chips. I want us to make our own, more ordinary characters and have them be fueled by their own emotions. If you ask me, if a typical guy and girl found the book, there'd be some philosophical debates and probably a lot of trepidation using it. To me the Death Note needing two items to work is a good way to draw out conflict.

That said I am totally on board for romance and gory deaths and sex and stuff. I don't want this to be all gloom and doom and debates about morals. I want there to be development of backstories and multiple plots going on. I want there to be some fluff too cause too much death is going to tire me out.

I can play the guy or the girl or we could do two girls or two guys if that's your thing. What matters to me is a unique but believable character who doesn't have to be ultra special. When it comes to posts I give what I get but I do try to stick to 2+ paragraphs at the very least but I am hoping we can write more than that since this is a very cool concept and I want us to embrace the tone and themes.

I would like this set in Japan or The UK if possible.

Sure, my two suggestions would be Yokote or Morioka. And I pretty much do a ton of research and talk to folks who have been there, it's fun research. -laughs-

Okay.

So maybe it's a small university? I don't think they ever established what city the show takes place in but we can figure that out or decide. Maybe someplace up north so they can have snow and hotsprings? I think the anime does have snow and hotsprings so I think our best bet would be to say they are someplace north then.
