Serena reached the two girls and gave a small wave as greetings. She felt slightly uncomfortable standing there in a dress, even if it was just for a party. She was about to compliment the two girls when Sebastian reached them. She laughed as considered himself lucky and Anna stole his hat, concurring. A moment later, the girl handed the hat back and turned to her, telling her she looked fantastic. She could help but blush. She smiled, “Grazie. You two look… Sfarzoso.”

She looked at Sebastian when he cleared his throat. She laughed a little and joked, “Do you like?”

Her voice trailed off a little, hardly noticeable, when Sebastian took hold of her hand and kissed her fingers. She smiled and shook her head, she wasn’t fully sure what it meant in American culture. After all, kissing cheeks was a very common greeting back in Italy. However, due to the flourish Sebastian did it with, she felt there was little to think about.

There was a small conversation between Sebastian and Niya before Anna turned to her. She giggled a little and nodded, “I did not go to many parties like this at Santa Catherina’s.”

Anna seemed to catch a glimpse of something over her shoulder and was lost from their conversation. After a moment, she looked at Sebastian, reassuring him and there was a sudden change in the conversation. Serena felt like she was missing something…. She looked over her shoulder as Anna excused herself and tried to figure out who it was that had gotten Anna so flustered.

Gunner showed up shortly after, his hands in his pockets. He nodded to Sebastian but seemed a little distracted as he looked around the crowd and merely gave a wave to the two girls. When he made the joke about it being a night of miracles due to his presence, Gunner laughed and made a face, “Very funny. Surprising after two months of no one, I want to hang out with my friends. Even if that means… being here.”

Serena laughed a little at the comment and felt Sebastian’s arm wrap around her shoulders. She looked up at him to find him doing the same to Niya. She laughed again, “You are a very touchy person, Sebastian.”

Gunner nodded, “Ain’t that the truth…” He looked around the crowd again before looking at Sebastian, “I thought you said Anna was going to be here. I only came because you said how all of you were going to be here.”

Serena smiled, “She is. She just went to grab a drink.”

Gunner looked slightly disappointed by the information, “Damn… I was hoping I could leave.”

Basil turned around and saw Anna. She grinned at the other girl and waved before walking over to her, “You came!” She laughed, “I honestly wasn’t expecting that… You and your friends…. Seem really serious. Good to see you loosening up a little,” She looked Anna over, taking in the girl’s dress and accessories, “My, my. Whoever you dressed up for is very lucky.”

She giggled and took another swig from the bottle she held, “Now, grab someone and dance, girly.”

She turned away again, still grinning and went back to the larger group of people who were dancing in less than proper fashion.
Serena stood in her room, thankful that she had no roommate as she covered her scar with foundation. It wasn't something she had the time to do everyday, neither was makeup but she managed to do a pretty simple job of that. She sighed, why was she even going to this thing. Sebastian had invited her and she guess he had a pretty good excuse for her going. Although, the typical way she met her fellow students was as they were trying to throw each other around. She shook her head, none of that tonight. She blended the foundation and when she was certain you could no longer see the scars, she turned away from the mirror.

She walked over to her closet and grabbed one of the few dresses her mother had forced her to bring. Per essere bella, cara, her mother had said. It was the only time her mother had actually paid attention to the fact that Serena was leaving and not planning on coming back. As much as she hated her mother, she loved her to. So, she packed the dresses, despite never believing she'd have to wear them. She pulled on the dress and ran her hands along the skirt that flowed down from her waist to mid thigh. The neckline sat at her collar bone, making her feel a bit more confident about her hidden scars. The dresses small sleeves covered her shoulders and little else. As simple as the style was the design was less so, golden flowers danced along the off white undertone. She pulled on a simple pair of beige heels and allowed her hair to flow around her shoulders. As confident she was that the makeup covered her scars, she was not going to risk it.

She made her way to the party and felt a little awkward. She didn't know how she looked to those around her and a little uncomfortable in a dress to begin with. She spotted Niya as she ran and a moment later spot Anna, who she was running to. She let out a little sigh and made her way over to them.
~
Basil was there dancing away with a bottle in her hand. She pulled lightly as her strapless sweetheart dress, despite the fact that it wasn't going anywhere. The white top of the dress became black as it reached the middle of her rib cage. The lower half also clung to her other than a thin layer of fabric that hung over it reaching her mid thigh in the front and flowing lower in the back.

She was happily dancing with Rae, who wore a sports jacket and slacks. She laughed and handed him the bottle, which he quickly took a large gulp of before the alcohol burned his throat, causing him to grimace for a moment before handing the bottle back for Basil to do the same.

Gunner walked through the forest with a great sigh. He wasn't fully sure why he was going. Maybe, it was because he had spent the last two months alone without friends and he wasn't going to sit in his room because he didn't want to go to a party. Or maybe it was because so many Moroi were partying by the ward and it didn't make him feel comfortable. All the same, he came. He wore black pants and a black button down, only dressing up slightly for the occasion. He wasn't exactly sure how one was supposed to dress up for these things. When he got there though, it seemed as though there was a varying opinion of the dress code.
Anya stepped out of the feeders and looked around to find Sebastian no where to be found. She walked over to the receptionist and double checked that he wasn't still in one of the rooms. When she told her that he'd already left, Anya felt a small stinging sensation in her eye. She shouldn't have said it. Any of it but... She was done with going back to the dorm and crying because Sebastian would be sweet all day and then leave her with but we can't actually be together.

She tried to keep the tears at bay as she walked into the lunchroom to find Gunner and Anna.
~
Gunner nodded, "You eat, I'll look," He stood as well and was about to head to the feeder's when he spotted Anya. He smiled and walked over to her, "Good morning-" He words ran short as he saw Anya's face. He gently took her shoulders and pushed her toward Anna, "Anna! I don't know how to deal with.... this."

Anya looked at Anna and sunk into one of the chairs and buried her face in her arms, "I'm stupid..."

Gunner just looked between the two girls, bewildered. He was completely and entirely unsure of what he was supposed to do.
Elliot looked at Kyle and shook her head, "I don't think there is a way to measure who will be 'most scarred'. To each their own. Some might agree. Others might think the girl who lost her arm was captured and tortured by robots to the point of forgetting everything about who she was. Who fought along side them and killed when all she ever did before was heal. Who drove herself crazy, would be most scarred. But at the end of the day... It doesn't actually matter."

She climbed off the couch and sighed, "I'm with Jacob if you need me."

Ophelia spotted Seth leaving and quickly hopped to her feet. She dumped what was left on her plate into the fire, deciding give it as tribute to Mars and Apollo. She wasn't really sure if it would go to Mars or Ares but she didn't care. The two of them blessed her and let her get to and save Seth, that couldn't go unnoticed. If it did, they'd probably smite her. She ran after Seth and caught him at the beach, "Seth..... We.... You should..... um.... talk to m-.... someone... about what happened," If there was every a worse time for her to get tongue tied! She sighed, "It isn't.... you know... healthy and stuff... to keep it bottled up.... and... stuff."

She finally bit her tongue, the eloquent Ophelia had clearly left the building.
Serena smirked, "In Siena, my nonna makes the best desserts. But I am... um.... bias," She shook her head a little, "Here in America... Well, I cannot say. I just got off the plane this morning."

When she was certain that his hands were in the right place, she released them, "I am sorry... If my English is not very good... I did not think I would be teaching" She rose a hand to her chest and pointed to just left of the centre, "The cuore... The heart... is protected by the... the... sterno and costola... I... I do not know the English," She blushed slightly but continued, "They are bone and they are there to protect. So you have to be... precise. Easiest way to go... is through the..." She blushed again, "Costola."

She took hold of the end of the stake and guided it to her ribs, "From here you would aim up and use both hands," She smile, "We, of course, are not going to be stabbing me."

She looked around and spotted the dummies that they used in practice and quickly grabbed one and brought it over to Sebastian. She patted its shoulder and smiled, "This we will be... But you need to work on strength. Like I said the costola and sterno are bone they will be hard to get through. Staking is not easy unless you know what you are doing. It also needs an opening to the chest that trained Dhampirs turned, know how to not give. Just... try and get through the bone for now. We see how much work you truly need."

And so, they went on like that until class wore down to an end. Sebastian had done well but he hadn't reached the heart at all. Every once in a while, Serena would stop him and show him herself, slowing her motions, talking through different ways trying not to repeat herself. She was glad when it ended though, she hadn't spoken much before, so she wasn't aware how broken her English was. When they finished, she was putting the dummy away and looked at Sebastian, "I am sorry... It would have been easier for you to learn from An-na or Gunner..."

Rae chuckled a little, "Sibera isn't much more specific. "

When she asked about Gabby he shook her head, "Nope," He wasn't bothered by it any. They weren't anything, he didn't want them to be anything, "She is studying or something."

He turned away again and started walking aimlessly around the campus, "So... Is it cold in Siberia? I only been to Russia once... and that was Moscow with my parents during the summer. It wasn't that bad... but I figure winter is a different story."
~
Gunner sighed, he truly did not know what was worse, listening to her flirt Rae all day or watching her read. He could probably sit down as well and read without a problem but he really didn't want someone like Stan to see him and think that he was being lazy. Not to mention, he might not end up with Sebastian, this could be what he does for the rest of his life. Standing two feet behind someone watching them read. Even if he did become Sebastian Guardian. He'd be far guard, Anna didn't look as threatening, her being near guard just made more sense.
~
Basil walked with her and pursed her lips about where she would be in the morning, "Probably at the feeders. I find it better to go in the morning... Even if there is a bigger line. But don't worry about it, I can come find you. You got to eat too, after all."

She smiled and soon they reached her dorm house. She turned to look at Anna, "So, I didn't get a Novice last year... When are you guys off the clock?" She pondered something for a moment, "Oh, there is also a bunch of us, Dhampirs and Moroi, in the forest tonight... Kind of where we were this afternoon. A whole, start of the year get together. You should come... Oh and dress nice, not that you don't but you guys don't get a lot of reasons to dress hot for the boys."
Elliot walked around the couch and sat down on it, "None of us are getting out without being scarred. I killed innocent people, I was one of them.... You tried to kill your own brother... for a girl... Savannah killed Marcus. Those are all unique situations but that doesn't mean everyone else is getting out unscathed. Ever heard of PTSD? If we really manage to get out of this... Every last person is going to suffer from it. Simple."

She sighed and rested her head on the couch, "We can't leave here for a couple weeks. Not with Jacob in this condition."

She looked out the window, "The survivors... need to be less dependant of Jacob too... He shouldn't be the one thing that gives them hope. It is too much for him."

Ophelia heard the call to dinner and sighed. She stood and grabbed a sweater before walking out of the cabin. She made her way to join the Apollo kids. She looked at Seth and gave him a small and, hopefully, reassuring smile before she sat down. She didn't eat much, which was a little strange, since she hadn't eaten anything other than nectar since before the Titan attack on the camp.
Anya felt her heart flutter a little when she felt Sebastian's hand holding hers. She looked at him as they walked to the feeders and allowed him to sign them up before taking a seat. She frowned slightly when he spoke though. She shook her head and removed her hand from his, "I can't... You need to make a decision, Sebastian... You either like me or you don't. You know how I feel... so... Just stop... toying with me."

It killed her to say any of that to him. She knew what he'd choose and as much as it hurt that he'd flirt with her one moment and push her away the next, she didn't want the flirting to stop. The times when it felt like they were a couple. The lady at the desk called her name and she stood. She looked over her shoulder once at Sebastian as she walked into the small curtained room.
~
Gunner bit into his apple again and pondered the second rumor that she presented to him. Finally, he shook his head, "I don't think he is old enough to be one of the elite that went after the Strigoi... Guardian Hathaway's year were the only ones allowed to go and even they were a select few... But he does have Molnija marks. I've seen them. He apparently got them at a pretty young age."

Gunner wasn't sure how he felt about molnija marks. After all, it was pretty cool to know you were strong enough to take down a Strigoi... But he didn't think there was any shame in protecting your ward and never receiving a mark. That meant you kept them safe and completely out of harm's way. He shrugged, "Maybe if you ask nicely, he'll tell you. Of course, you'd have to use the magic words."
