Gunner laughed, "I guess you could say that."

He set them up and placed the white ball in front of her, "Alright, so you hit this ball at the triangle and break the triangle. You get any in the pockets you get to go again... You don't it's my turn.... Think you can do that, Ross?"
~
Anya looked up at him, "So are they just pretending... or do they actually like me?" She laughed a little. She let him guide her over to a piano in the corner. She sat down on the chaise lounge and watched him as he kissed her hand. She blushed a little and dropped her hand into her lap as he walked over to the piano. She grinned when he mentioned not having played for anyone in quite a few years, "Well... Aren't I just special."

She leaned against the back of the lounge and picked her feet up as he slowly started to play the piano. She closed his eyes as he played. As he neared the end, she stood and walked over to the piano. She took a seat on the bench beside and rested her head on his shoulder, watching his fingers as he played the last few notes of the song. She looked up at him, "That was lovely," She placed her hand on his cheek and smiled before kissing him, "Thank you for bringing me here..."
Serena was very hesitant about fighting Anna. As much as the girl told her not to take it easy on her, she couldn't help it. Every time she hit the girl, she cringed. She didn't like fighting her like this. When they stopped after Serena 'staked' Anna yet again, she bit her lip, "Maybe."

She watched as she rubbed her wrist and found herself rubbing her neck. When she insisted they go again, she nodded and obliged. When the bell rang, Serena was about to leave when Anna caught her arm and asked her not to tell anyone. She nodded, "O-okay..." She knew that if Sebastian really wanted to know, he'd find out and she wasn't really sure... that she wanted to keep it from him. It was nice having someone know her secret, she felt comfortable about him. With Anna, now that she realized what was happening with the girl. She felt uncomfortable. It wasn't the girl's fault though, it was Serena. Her own past playing into what was happening. Serena had never had someone like that that she'd let do that. However, thinking about Anna letting someone, it brought back memories Serena didn't want to remember. She hugged herself as Anna left the room. She stood there for a little bit, feeling ill to her stomach. It was like standing in the feeders all over again. Or when the Guardian had pretended to bite her.

When she left the gym, her hands were trembling. She reached up and let her hair down over her neck, not wanting to think about what she was hiding. She was supressing a small panic attack when she found Sebastian. He never made things go away but she always felt a little better around him. She nodded her head, her arms still wrapped around herself, "Ciao..."
~
Basil gasped a little when she ran right into Anna. She looked down at her, "Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't know if you'd be here or not and well...." Gunner walked passed without looking at them before ducking into the boys' locker room, "I like the view."

She giggled and grabbed Anna's hand, "So, are you going to protect me or trade with Jordan and run off with lover boy?"
Anya felt Sebastian lace his fingers threw her own and smiled at him as he squeezed it. She took a sip of the wine in front of her and was a little surprised when Sebastian's father laughed. Yes, they were trying to impress her... but she had basically spoke out against everything he just told her he believed. It eased her worries to see him amused by her words. Anya looked to the door as the cake was brought in and joined into Sebastian's song, singing his sister a Happy Birthday. Gunner didn't sing. It wasn't that he was too stuck up for it, Gunner just didn't sing ever.

Anya grinned as Kenzie cheered about her being ten and blew out her candles happily. She was a sweet one, she could tell why Sebastian loved her.

Once dinner finished, Anya allowed Sebastian to take her to the art room. She kept her fingers wrapped around his and placed her head on his shoulder. Her fingers had the smallest of tremors. Yes, all had seemed to go well with Sebastian's parents but she was very worried if that was just for show. She looked up at him, "So... what's the verdict?... Do they like me?"
~
Gunner wrapped his arm around Anna and guided her to the games room and grabbed them a couple pool cues. He handed her one, "Ever play before?"

fixed it.
Serena heard Anna's voice and quickly pulled her shirt down, ensuring that she hadn't seen any on her neck. However, when she turned to look at the girl, she was pretty sure it didn't matter. Living in a commune it got pretty easy to pick out blood whores, the distant look in their eyes and well, the giant bruise on their neck was always a give away. Anna didn't have any markings on her neck but Serena could tell something... was wrong. It wasn't just the clothes she was wearing or the skipping class, that look in her eyes, that distant look. It terrified Serena, she'd seen it before, in herself. Serena could only guess that it was Jace... Maybe it was different when it was with someone you cared about. Maybe it was different when you wanted it but it still made Serena's hands shake, "Hi..."

She looked at Anna's wrist, "You... are not allowed... to wear bracelets in practice...." Serena had a feeling that that was wear Jace was biting her. She walked over to her and one hand took Anna's wrist before the other reached up and pulled her sleeve over top of it, "No one.... has to know..."

She gave her friend a small smile, "We should go."

She tucked her hair up into her bun and walked into the Gym. Gunner caught sight of her and Anna, "Good to see you'll actually have someone to fight."

"Gun..." Serena said softly, silently pleading him to stop. He had suggested that she shorten his name when she was continually struggling with the pronunciation. He was still a little ticked about everything that had happened between him and Anna. It radiated off of him and it was clear that he did not like the changed Jason was making to her. She grabbed Anna's hand and dragged her away from her old friend. When she turned to her, she bit her lip, "We should not spar... You are... um... dizzy... I do not want to hurt you..."

Gunner watched the two girls walk away. Sebastian hadn't been able to figure out whether or not Jason was using any compulsion. He'd confessed to Gunner that Jace was a Spirit user when he was at his ultimate low. He'd actually been sent to fight a punching bag that week, as he was deemed to volatile after nearly breaking a kid in half. He'd gotten better, back to Robot Guardian, keeping his emotions far from him when he was fighting. Robot Guardian had started to slip into his every day life as well though. He remained stoic through almost everything and rarely cracked a smile. Now, he was just watching Anna slip away from him. The person he had the crush on was gone, maybe that was a good thing but he didn't like it.

He turned to his partner and the two started to spar. Anything to keep his mind off Anna.
Gunner took a deep as Anna spoke. He was mad at her but more so at himself. He could have been Moroi or not care about being a Guardian. Any of that would mean he could kiss her right now. Of course, he couldn't. He wasn't even too pleased with her talking to him, even if for the most part he really liked what she was saying. She was about to say something about Jace when he popped up behind her, god this guy was really annoying. He started to talk about Anna being a catch as he doubt of having a chance. Gunner smirked, "You wouldn't."

Anna excused herself and Jace followed her. Gunner was left back to seeing but not seeing. He only felt a little better about what happened. Anna liked him and he was the ass that was keeping them apart. Then to add to it, he hated this Jace guy and didn't want him anywhere near her... He wasn't sure if it was just Jace though. He'd probably hate any guy who tried to flirt with Anna. He wanted to be with her, but couldn't, but he didn't want anyone else to be with her. He was a grade A douche.
~
Basil looked up from her book when Anna returned, "Hey! Did you know that putting water on burns is actually pretty helpful? Too bad my element is earth."
~
Serena was a little stunned when he called her pretty. She bit the inside of her lip as he stabbed the dummy and failed. She smiled at him and shook her head, "You didn't," She walked over to him and pulled the stake out. She looked at him, "I think that a Strigoi will do more than hand you your.... um.... ass."

She placed the stake back in his hands. She took one of his arms into her hands, "You aren't aiming right... Since you don't have the strength that Dhampirs do, aim is very important. She moved his arm so that the tip touched where he should be aiming. She moved his arms through the movements, one at time then stepped back as he went to stake it, "You be pro at staking when you try it on me, promise."

She waved her hand, inviting him to try and stab the dummy again.
Anya placed her free hand on top of Sebastian's when he squeezed it, running her fingers along it, trying in anyway to calm him. She looked at Mr. Lazar when he asked her about her views on whether or not it was useful for the Moroi to fight. Gunner looked at Kenzie and smiled, "There are far more qualified people to do that at the Academy. As for the hair thing.... Well... I'm not to sure."

Anya nodded addressing Mr. Lazar's question to her about attack classes, "Of course I do," She said kindly, "Not particularly to protect ourselves if our Guardians fail. More so to assist them. To prevent failure. It would cause far less death among our Guardians and well... They are... already a depleting race, with women having to come to a choice... Children or Wards. Men hardly having the choice of children at all. Since we no longer mate with humans... They are our only way of continuing our protection. If more of them die, less children are born, less and less become Guardians until there is no one left to protect us," She picked up her fork, making a show of it, allowing Gunner and Anna to pick up on which one they should be using, "However, I wouldn't go as far to say... that we are superior to Strigoi.... Yes, we maintain our magical ability but to say we are more powerful would be similar to saying we are more powerful than Dhampirs. Which I don't believe we are."

She daintily cut off a piece of her food and plopped it into her mouth, "I also wouldn't say that Spirit is impractical," her voice was still light and kind as she delved into a more uncomfortable subject between the family members. However, it seemed like Mr. and Mrs. Lazar cared about what she said, even if it was because of her name. If she could make the on going battle between Sebastian and his father a little kinder, she was going to. She smiled, "Those that we know have Spirit are some of the strongest and most influential people in Moroi history. Queen Vasilisa, Saint Vladimir. They also seem to draw strong people to them, Shadow kissed Anna and Guardian Hathaway. Even with the back lash of their abilities they are inclined to help without worry of themselves.... They also must have more restraint than any of the Moroi," She sipped at her water as though this was the most casual thing, "Just because it isn't something that we can see, does not mean it isn't powerful. It is impractical because it is new... because it scares us... but you could say the same for four forks at dinner," She glanced at Anna and Gunner. Gunner rose a hand to his mouth and coughed a little, clearly preventing himself from choking.
Basil smiled as she walked, trying to listen in without looking as though she was listening. Jace was cute, not really her style but she could totally see him and Anna together and if she wasn't going to do anything with Gunner, why not set her up with Jace.

She looked at Anna when she said her name and followed her over to the bookshelf. She took the books from her and nodded, taking a seat, "Thanks,"

She opened them and was about to start reading them when Jace made comment. She was kind of happy that he made an excuse for them. She nodded, "It is totally boring... but," She shrugged, "I think my parents would prefer I'm reading up on how to bandage an arm than punch and Strigoi."

She looked back down at the book when Anna excused herself. She knew Jason and took classes with him but they weren't friends. Acquaintances really. Besides, he was there for Anna not Basil, so why not get a head start on her reading. She rested her head on one of her hands and started to read about how to deal with minor burns. If Jason was going to hang around, it was probably best that she keep up with the lie.
~
Serena looked at him when he started to speak Italian. Well, try to. She laughed a little, "It was.... But I understood you!" she nodded, "You're welcome."

They walked into the Gym and Sebastian made comment to Gunner. She pursed her lips, "You might want to... not the stabbing his own leg part... but," She pointed as the two dummies he had dealt with in class. One of them still had the stake lodged inside of it, "He is good."

She retrieved a second stake, leaving her fake one on her waist. She didn't want to get caught without it. She walked back to Sebastian as he asked how to stand. She looked at him, measuring him. She stuck her foot between his feet and moved them slightly. She nodded, "Like this.... It is the best position for you... but you might not be able to get to it. We will work with different stances... later."

She handed him the stake, her fingers wrapping his around the handle, "You remember what we worked on last time?"

She pointed at their dummy, un-staked, "If you can stake him more than ten times... In three different positions... I will fight you... let you try and stake a moving target that fights back," She smiled at him, "Sound good?"
~
Gunner glanced at the door when Anna and the others walked in. He looked at the guy with his arm around her shoulder. That was fast. Really fast. She had just kissed him and now she was off walking with a guy with his arm around her. Jealousy flared him in but he didn't look away, even as Anna slipped off to help Basil. He caught a look pass over Jason's face. Annoyance, maybe? What the hell did he have to be annoyed about?! Gunner's blood was boiling as he looked away from the guy and focused back on their surroundings. Seeing but not seeing.

He looked down at Anna when she approached him, he hadn't noticed that she left the little group over there. He nodded curtly to her, removing his eyes to look back around the room, "I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?"
Gunner smiled when Anya seemed to give up on her plight to stand at the wall through the meal. He nodded his head, "I do. But you are fine around Sebastian and Anya, I think you'll live."

He walked over to the table with her and took his seat as she stole McKenzie from the seat next to Anya and placed the young girl between them. He smiled at her, "Don't worry. I'll protect you from Anna's insanity."
~
Anya was incredibly grateful when Anna and Gunner walked to the table and Anna even stole McKenzie away, allowing Sebastian took take the seat next to her. She smiled, "I think you are the last person to be teasing someone about brooding."

She took his hand in her own as he kissed her cheek. She nodded, "O-okay... It's just... all a little overwhelming."

How could it not be, his family seemed to just be fawning over her. Well, not exactly her, her name. She smiled all the same when Sebastian's parents came in and took their seats. She looked at them when they asked about her time at the Academy. She nodded, "Quite. I always love being there with everyone."

She glanced as Sebastian and smiled, "Studies are pretty simple too. The only one I'm kind of struggling with is Attack Classes," She shrugged, "Water is a pretty difficult element to help out with and I'm not strong enough with it yet to manage to freeze anything... just... move it."
Anya smiled at Sebastian as he pulled out her seat for her and looked over at Anna and Gunner as they entered the room. She gave them a relieved smile, it was strange being around people that didn't really care to introduce themselves. Of course, she knew who they were, Mr. and Mrs. Lazar, but she didn't know their first names. She only picked up on Kenzie's name because Sebastian had said it and she had a feeling it was a nickname... for McKenzie... Maybe? Having Gunner and Anna there was comforting, she was incredibly happy that Sebastian had invited them. She took her seat and her smile faded slightly when Anna informed the Dhampir setting the table she'd eat later.

Gunner was looking at her and noticed, moving quickly to Anna.

Anya was pulled out of her thoughts when Kenzie jumped into the seat next to her, stating that that was where she wanted to sit. When she asked for her approval, Anya smiled, "I don't think I can argue with that logic."

As sweet as Kenzie was, Anya would have liked to sit next to Sebastian. Hold his hand or something. The feeling of discomfort grew but she refused to let it show on her face, "How old are you turning, Kenzie?"
~
Gunner walked over to Anna and looked at her, "Hey..."

He searched her face, "Anna... you got to sit and eat... If you don't, I won't, and if neither of us do... I don't think Anya is really going to enjoy herself. I mean this is all stressful enough for her but add that fact that she has ideals that Sebastian's family doesn't..." He gave her a small smile, "It isn't going to hurt you to sit and eat. We're guests... I think Anya would really appreciate it."
