"we are not unaccustomed to such things. in fact the ship you arrived in appears to be a more crude or early variant on one the ancient's used to arrive. i will admit that we have had issue decoding their technology due to the gap between our current level and their's as well as the state the information is in, however our current studies are bearing fruit" the high general replies, showing that offering things that the emperor would think would wow them wouldn't work
@supertinyking

"that is agreeable, however if you wish that much land then we'll need much more than just a few scientists to assist with our research. we could also use workers to assist with the reclamation effort and brewery. i could also insentivise traders to head your way if you can proof you have interesting things" the high general replies evenly, suggesting a tithe of some sort
@supertinyking

the captain just growls and goes off to reprimand the guardsmen for retreating without her consent, taking them into the city by the scruffs of their necks with them comeing back after a while and rubbing their necks.

"ah, i see. if you wish, most of this planet is desertous so arranging to free up some space in the southern lands would be as simple as speaking with my fellow high generals. It would of course come with taxes though. our city is based on designs salvaged from the ancients which assists with production and cleanliness... i assume we're to continue negotiations?" the high general replies evenly
@supertinyking

the captain soon, comes out completely towering over her and looking quite thoroughly annoyed as she growls out "your emperor is meeting with one of the high generals. return to your vehicle" as the two male guardsmen just sort of slink away from her quietly, going back to the gate to let the emperor out.

"your emperor asked for some rather strange things, mind elaborating as to why?" the high general asks evenly, adding the scientists to the receiving portion of the contract but leaving it at that for the time being
@supertinyking

"i'm afraid i must decline if you wish for our blood as... it's somewhat of a sensetive topic for my people... we're goverened by our warrior queen, the high generals are below her and rule a capital city in each of the four states as well as handle global events, i handle commerce and civil service for example, below us are the General governers, below them are the mayor-captains, and finally below them are the soldier-civilians." the High general replies evenly, explaining things as best he can. "state your business miss" one of the gate guards says evenly, seeming rather naturally cowed despite his obvious size advantage
@supertinyking

"unfortunately the 'mana' as you call it, is mostly being experimented with just by throwing things into it and seeing if it changes, which is mostly how it works from what we've gathered but it doesn't always work... it does, however, vastly improve food shelf life though, and a certain flower assists with plant growth using the mana as an energy source, but i digress. Our gardening block has the study well in hand, it's just a matter of time rather than study to discover all of the uses for the substance. However, if you do offer scientists that can assist us in the study of other subjects, that would be well appreciated and you would be compensated for their service" the high general replies evenly, writing out a basic outline of a contract for food in exchange for something, though he waits to fill out the rest of it until something specific can be agreed upon
@supertinyking

"that does sound useful, and i could easilly arrange for some shipments of grain and fruits from the surplus AFTER being given a demonstration of it's use and applications, however, the bio-engineering as you call it is currently not needed as you could probably tell that we don't quite understand the flowers yet, only that the energy they produce is useful for various mundane uses" the high general replies evenly, steepling his hands in front of his face
@supertinyking

"we have no need for cloth armor or invisible weaponry, though technology is something of an issue... follow me and we'll work out something" the man replies evenly, the guards opening the gate hurriedly with the captain giving him what looks to be a salute, though she doesn't look too happy about it for some reason. The high general walks with them through the city, most every citizen clad in armor of some sort with weaponry that looked to be way too big for any of them to wield which showed a distinct lack of border between soldier and citizen. The city itself however appears to all be one, solid rock carved entirely out of the same mountain with a rather strange precision in the more heavily crowded outer sections, though there seems to be an entire block of the city devoted to each individual pursuit, whether that be trade, military training, schooling, agriculture, or other wise, making everything rather streamlined and surprisingly orderly despite the obvious lack of technology. The High general takes solaire and the emperor to what looks to be a gardening block with strange flowers being cultivated by, surprisingly, a nearly entirely all male staff despite gardening normally being thought to be a womanly pursuit. While the flowers themselves appeared to be ordinary, their interactions with each other were not as they seemed to be generating some sort of passive mystical energy that's then funneled into odd contraptions that then push the energy into large stone pools which appear to be full of a strange blue liquid, the staff experimenting on it in the background while the High General leads the two into a shaded stall with a table and various storage chests, shelves, and cupboards strewn about. "now, what technology do you offer?" the man asks dryly, getting out a blank sheet of parchment and a quill which seems to be from an unknown animal
@supertinyking

"you're speaking to the man in the great honor of being in charge of such things. however, we do not need medical supplies as the illnesses of the planet have already been catalouged and made moot by the workings of the ancients. If you require food in any large quantity, i can assure that my people can assist you with that, however after all of the insults and abbrasive comments leveled at us my interest in a trade agreement is rapidly dwindling" the sergal replies dryly, obviously more experienced and knowledgeable than the captain the emperor had spoken with before
@supertinyking

"i am the captain of this block of the city. if you wish i shall retrieve one of the high generals if they are not busy with the queen" the captain replies tersly, obviously greatly annoyed by the emporer's words as he lips curl in a scowl before she exits back into the city. After a good hour another creature comes out with a lazy look on his face, clad in thick plate with green decals of an unknown metal that radiates... well... radiation but at a small increment. "i heard tale of annoying, furless creatures wishing to set up an embassy for the people they'd just insulted. i don't suppose you'd be unfortunate enough to be them?" he asks plainly, scars of long passed battles obvious under his helmet over both his eyes and along his muzzle
