"that... was my ex-wife... plague witch of Veril the alabastor kingdom... used to be green until everything succumbed to her plagues" the man replies evenly, adding "your 'Elli' is most likely dead now, or on her way there" as he looks around, his silver eyes scanning the landscape before pointing out of the gate, saying evenly "there. tracks" before taking off at a run

Aggoth finds them missing, the lord trailing behind him until they get to the post where they'd freed the woman, the lord asking "where is the woman that was strung up here?"
@supertinyking

"damn it! the sodding witch tricked me again!" the lord replies, the wind around him whipping into a fury, the fires being put out before he breathes in deeply, asking evenly "please tell me that's the smell of the herds rotting and not the people" as he rips the rags off before getting some fresh clothes on
@supertinyking

the rat-like creature dips under the initial strike, the fire balls sailing past as he strikes at aggoth's legs only for the giant ogre to beat his head to a red paste on the ground, his fur melting away to human skin as his head reforms and he looks around confusedly, asking evenly "where am i?... why is everything on fire?..."
@supertinyking

he finds the shockwaves to hurt the creature more than wound, the basement nearly pitch black around him. After a good few minutes of silence he's toppled over, his back scratched up horribly before the creature returns to the darkness of it's own volition, the new and old wounds inflaming with disease and rot rather painfully
@supertinyking

the creature hits the floor to avoid the fireballs before being blasted in the face by Aggoth's flame breath, stumbling back a bit before scurrying into the basement
@supertinyking

the door busts open to reveal a rat-like creature only slightly smaller than Aggoth draped in the skin and clothing of a nobleman as it devours a corpse noiselly, stopping with a crunch of bone as it rounds to look at the ogre, letting out an ear splitting screech with it's breath smelling of death as i charges at Aggoth, it's clawed hands held out as it jumps at him, bowling him over and ripping at him, it slashing him deeply but his natural resilience and strength allowing him to weather the blows and boot it off of him, his wounds almost imediatly festering and inflaming with gangrine
@supertinyking

"i won't be stayin here. come with me to a safe place little one" the woman says evenly, standing and holding her hand out to lead Elli to safety outside of the disease-ridden ghost town.

Aggoth finds the corpse of a man, pressing against a barred door, his bottom half having been added to the bar during the last few seconds of life, his wound looking to be rotted rather than torn or ripped, his innards on the floor below him, his bloodshot eyes gazing blankly into the distance

the woman nearly collapses but manages to catch herself well enough to stumble down the wet tender and walk slowly over to a nearby house, inviting them in while she gets some bread and cheese to eat along with some milk, finishing it while they sit down at a table with a giant pole crashed through the middle of it.

she sits down opposite them before begining her tale "a while back, lord rasimov got into a dispute with a local witch about land. She'd lived in her hut in the woods since before the lord's father was born, but the young lord was a greedy sort and insisted that she give up her hut and rejoin the townsfolk, going so far as to set it alight while she was out gathering food. However, his naivete begat a curse upon his line; 'what has been taken from me shall be paid for by your first son'. Not soon after, the local lady begat a son and daughter but the son died soon after the daughter had been born, leaving him stricken with grief. In a rage he began a witch hunt and executed all those suspected of witch-craft without trial in order to suss out the witch... after the first one, his wife died of sickness and then his daughter disappeared into the forest in a trance after the second. After a while he just began killing off all the women in the village, plague claiming the men until finally i was all that was left. When a rain put out the pyre on my stake, he ran thinking me to be the witch. I'm just a medicine woman and work herbs not magic, the lord needs to be stopped though, the sickness... it has effected him... made him something else... me husband locked him up in his manor but... hasn't been back since"
@supertinyking

she eats and drinks as much as she can, cough a bit to clear her throat before replying raspily "cut me down from here and i'll tell you all about what happened in this forsaken place" her hands bound to the stake that had been freed from the flames that seemed to scorch most everything else to a certain extent
