What would impress me is if you'd admit you were a douche, and let's call it a day.

so you want me to admit that i'm a douche because i'm different? *claps slowly with a straight face at the

1. I been online role playing since 2005.
2. Does it not strike you that you are the only one different from everybody else?

1. i give not a single flying fuck
2. i view logic differently than most and in some ways very bass akwards but it tends to work out in the end, but you just called me a blight upon free roleplaying for being different and not relying on other people in my posts, expecting them to have some sense of reality in knowing that hey, this mother fucker is suggesting X happens... do i have any way to stop it? i do! *proceeds to type out said response and counters* now let's see how he responds....

Ok. I've had my drink. I'm not mad. It's just... You're probably not going to change the way you've been doing things for years but, It would behoove you to use subjective language. Like, "attempts to," or "aims at," or, "will do X unless anything stops him," etc. And especially don't follow up an attempted action with any subsequent action. If you open a pit on the floor, don't also throw a bomb down the hole, because you don't know if the person actually fell or not. Just keep in mind whether or not you're going to be perceived as rude by the other person. Their character may be a god or something, but you blithely assume they aren't. That's pretty insulting. I'm going to assume my words fall on deaf eyes. Still, these free rp's are very loosely monitored and very divergent from logic and coherence. I don't take them seriously. I haven't decided if I want to play in them or not, because of people like Tyki, making them a bad place for the rest of us. I won't contend where I'm not having fun. I'll just jet and go where people are worth typing to.

i understand... but considering the fact that a. when i do something i expect it to be met with a response either saying why it didn't work instead of saying "here is my face. punch it to your hearts content before i rage" b. expecting some form of proactiveness from other people regarding their characters instead of expecting me to be the one to say things like "try to" c. the fact that i'm typing as if i was expecting it to land.... the point of combat is that i do something to my enemy, expecting certain things to happen... whether that happens is reliant upon your response...

also. just because someone has a different style of writing as you is no reason to instantly rage at them and expect them to change because it's outside you're comfort zone. i have adapted my style of rping over time to be able to do many things, but my stance on combat is from someone that has actually fought and knows how it works so i type as such. do instead of calling me a blight upon free roleplays you should look at yourself and see that such inflexibility and reliance on other people is what's making free roleplays and in fact roleplays in general lose their worth

That makes sense to me, however, that is why people rage when you say 'I stab you in the face.' Instead, you're expected to say. 'I TRY and stab you in the face.' which means the other person can block without contradicting your post.

.... i'm having difficulty understanding that logic....

Nope. They get pissed because they expect you not to create rules. It's like a social rule, whereby you don't change someone else's post. Personally I also find it quite weird, but that's the way people expect it to work, and they get pissed when you suddenly diverge from that.

... odd... one would expect (at least through my logic) that you can't force others to do something without plausible reason so if i were to say do something like *stabs you with a knife with "mr. stabby" carved into the handle* then you could dodge or block or counter in some way if you had a plausible reason... instead of basically saying "here is my face. slide your knife into it repeatedly before i rage because i sat there and let it happen"
thewizardguy said
That is what I would do, but most people regard anything anyone else posts as fact, and get really pissy about changing things in other people's posts, as I recently discovered.

so people get pissed at us for expecting them to be responsible for their chars?
Wraithblade6 said
That's not how it works. YOU are the only one that doesn't seem to get that. You write like a troll.

so i'm being a troll for expecting you to take responsibility for your own characters by saying whether something works or not?...

((At which point, how do you know the other person isn't superhuman? Don't assume their legs are broken.))

because it's suggested not required. if their legs aren't broken due to some circumstance i don't know about then they'll tell me so...

You're pretty much proved you're not worth a booger out of my nose. Screw off Tyki. I'm done with you.

elaborate... i'm having difficulty understanding the motive behind this statement

Did I ruin your day, Tyki? Maybe next time you won't be such a prick to the new person.

generally after hazing or if you're female then i don't tend to be much of a prick... you're just intentionally being so immature that i'm finding myself getting annoyed....
