Both the Eye and the Council of Nations might be considered paranoid and power-hungry within the MEC's mind and his suspicions may be proven right! It was a fool's decision to believe in absolutes anyway. With a strong willpower, he theoretically could be "Gifted" but became augmented as he failed miserably in sacrificing himself. Oh well, when life gives lemons, make lemonade. Plus he did express support for the psychic people, arguing that they are still human beings at the core. The brave volunteers sacrifice their normalcy to save billions and this is what they get? It seems that no good deed goes unpunished.
After the war, Mr. Grey was detained, but for reasons unknown to him other than his suspicions. Because of his nature as a MEC, he suspected that they thought he was dangerous. He also got the designs for making a suit that can be used with Earth resources. A mechanical engineer and a master of materials, he wanted to contribute with Dr. Shen and discuss how the public can benefit from the discoveries that the XCOM project brought along. Disbanding the XCOM project would never be a smart move. What if the aliens defeated have remnants coming for revenge? What if humans only created a power vacuum? The victory with the aliens was a Pyrrhic victory at best. The questions may be left unanswered until it is too late.
He got a hold of himself and realized that it is better to focus on the now. The Council of Nations shouldn't act so foolish in the face of uncertainty. The situation is volatile and improper handling of the situation will result in disastrous consequences. So much for democracy or in this instance, "demo-crazy". Pragmatism must take place over the will of the people. Though unpleasant, what must be done must be done. Besides, even good medicine can taste bitter. Short term pain should not be preventative when it comes to long term gain.

The holidays are coming and tons of finals. Worst comes to worst, I always adapt into fiction as the events are all planned out.
After lengthy discussion, Draco was able to broker negotiations with Center as well as his commander. Center even got on terms with the supreme leader, seeing how the humans have a vast amount of collective reserves of precious metals and gems. The Mercenary nature of the Saurians were finally revealed once Center settled for twice as much as the paranormal forces pay: 250 grams of gold a month or about nine ounces worth. And that was for each trooper. Center's haggling paid off. He even slyly promised that it will raise to 300 grams for very good work and efficiency.
For professional courtesy and after hearing of the deal, the science team decided not to autopsy the fallen bodies in respect. The new plan was to trade notes with their new allies. The engineers also got in on the ideas to trade notes with their dinosauroid colleagues. Due to the speed of the Saurians, the paranormal forces did not get wind of the new deal...yet.
