Hearing Ren's answer made the blood drain from her face. She was that close to losing all her health points. Would she die if that happened? For a moment fear gripped her and she weakened her grip on her bat. From the chaotic melee in front of her, an Imp broke through and charged at her.
"Sh-shit!" she screamed, swinging her bat in panic. The wide swing missed the Imp by a mile. It raked into her legs and abdomen with its claw. Sasha saw the number 38 appear. 38. Didn't Ren say she had only 7 left?
The girl cried out in agony and fell backwards, landing on her butt. She held on to the bat, trying desperately to get back on her feet. Her vision was blood red and dimming. There was an overwhelming fatigue, like all the energy had been sucked out of her in that one attack. This was really really really bad, she thought.
"I-I'm… not going to… die!" she screamed through gritted teeth. The words came out only as a guttural growl. Her vision returned slightly. After several moments, it seemed as if she wasn't about to expire at that instant. There was the words "Deadly" hanging over the top of her vision, with a small skull icon beside it. What it meant eluded her.
"Fuuuck!" Sasha cried. She aimed the pepper spray at the Imp and held on to the trigger for dear life, while scrambling to get away from the tiny monster.
