'It's up to you, I don't want to waste your time. There are computers in here, I could go and grab one, and you could grab a book, if you really wanted to.' Alex told him. 'But if you can't spend a second away from me, I'm sure we can work something out.' Alex said, winking, with a smile spread across his face.
Alex shook his head. 'I'd rather stay with you. That is, if you don't mind, of course. I can go back if you prefer.' He said, giving Jason the puppy-dog eyes look that could melt the hearts of even the coldest people.
Alex nodded. 'Yeah, there is.' He said. 'I know what Dan did. He was bragging to me earlier. But I want you to know I've put a stop to it. You shouldn't have any more trouble, and if you do, I'll see to it personally that you don't get any more. I like you, Jason, and I'm not going to let some stupid guys start pushing you around just because they can.'
Leon stood up, but did so a little too quickly. He stood still until the head-rush passed. The dizziness, followed by the few seconds of blindness were nothing other than annoying.
Alex decided he needed to talk to Jason. He got up and followed him to the front, taking a pass, and writing his name down. He would even go to the library, rather than sneaking away, if that's what Jason wanted him to do. He'd be a good boy, just this once. He smiled at Jason as he did this, trying to let him know why he was choosing the library over a movie.
Leon could hear several things at the same time. He was groggy so he made no sense of it at first, but when he actually woke up properly, the smell of coffee having hit his nose, he made sense of it all. Avery had obviously put the coffee maker on, before training. She had the strength of a whole army, that one. He couldn't help but realise that she was strong-willed. It was something he admired in anyone, and found even more admirable among women, because of how often men thought they were better.
Alex was furious with Dan, but had to keep his cool, he didn't want these guys thinking he was soft... Not yet anyway. He might risk his reputation in future, but not yet. He needed it at the moment. He needed to carry out his plan. 'Ease up on the kid, will you?' He said, looking at Dan. 'I mean, he's new, he's smart and he's frail. He doesn't need you tearing up his essays and damaging his car.' He watched as Dan's face contorted into confusion. He stared at him. 'You think you can ask me for an explanation?' He laughed. 'I made you, Dan. I could make you into nothing just as easily. The same goes for all of you. Doubt me, and I'll start spreading rumours. You know the school will believe anything I say.' He smiled. 'Bye then.' He said as the bell went, signalling the beginning of a lesson. He walked and left his friends, dumbstruck.
Alex pulled up in the driveway to his home and stepped out of his car, locking it behind him. He walked up to his house and unlocked the door, stepping inside. He turned a few lights on and headed to the kitchen to make something to eat. Both of his parents worked away quite a lot, so the house was often empty, most of the time it was like having his own place. That's why he went out a lot. Loneliness, for the most part. Then again, these popular people were so incredibly shallow that he often felt lonely in a crowd full of people.
Fair enough, I'll PM you and we can sort something out :)
Alex chuckled. 'I'll look forward to it.' He said simply, before hanging up. Jason seemed excited, which was a good sign. That either meant he was into Alex, or was very naive. And no one was that naive. He was almost certain that Jason would be able to figure out that this less than elaborate set-up was basically a date. He was one of, if not the, smartest kid in school, after all. Alex wasn't going to let friday night pass without saying something.
