Arlia took a moment to look at Sarah, noticing the shared appearance between her and her brother. She could feel warmth from her touch and saw worry in her eyes for her. Not wanting to be rude as the guest of the house, Arlia nodded and replied, "I'm alright, thanks to your brother. I was just involved in a... domestic dispute, so to speak." Looking at the broken shackles, she chuckled and said to the silver-haired woman, "All things considered, I'm happy to leave with my life and my body intact. Thank you for your concern, but I will be fine from now on."

I was thinking that they should join after Hayley left so the drama could be intensified. Imagine how Hayley would feel when she saw her mother's killer now allied with her two enemies. :3

Also, when will Nigel start regaining his memory of his childhood friendship with Hayley?

That is an awesome idea! They both could meet each other in a normal situation, then Eryn would be flabbergasted when she sees her new friend trouncing on his enemies like a boss. :D

As Arlia heard his words, she felt a sense of peace and freedom she had only felt when Nigel was with her, only this time stronger and more long lasting. Perhaps her father's death had finally given her some sense of independence from her dark and twisted past. Resting her head on his chest, she whispered, "I could never repay you for saving me... Loving you with all my heart, body, and soul is all I can do to ever show my undying gratitude. Thank you, my beloved savior." Looking around at the destroyed room and at the remains of the courtyard, she looked up at him and, running one hand through his flaming silver hair, said, "Let's leave... There is nothing left that could anchor me to this nightmare. I don't know where I want to go or what I would do from now on, but as long as I'm with you, I'm content to follow you wherever you go, even to the depths of hell."

Shaking her head, Arlia gathered all the courage she had and looked up at Nigel, not at all scared by his demonic form. She gently caressed his cheek with one hand and placed another on his burning arm, the warmth radiating from the fire bringing a strangely calming wave upon her. "Don't apologize. It's not your fault. I should've been more honest about that bastard instead of hiding it from you... He had taken so many things from me... My life, my sister, and my dignity. I didn't want you to find out about this... shameful side of mine. To think that my own father has been treating me as a vent for his carnal lust and I never have the bravery or power to stand up to him... I feel so dirty and unworthy."

There would be splinters of Medici left now that Adriano and the main base are destroyed. They will join forces with Crey and some will even submit to the organization in search of a new leader. Still, Nigel's rescue took a significant chunk of out the Medici's force and he got the strongest captain to his side. :D
