Myth Academy (PG-13)

Ajala, Arcana, Ahmose, Fiona, Reed and Foster

Between having Arcana adoring the dangerous plants and merely being in the presence of carnivorous plant, the nagini was happy to know that their shift was almost over and prepared to release the beetles for the less savage plants. However, just as Ajala was about to open the beetle case, she heard noises somewhere nearby and turned around, only to gasp in horror and fury as she saw three boys, none of whom were, as she could recall, part of the Gardening club. One of the boys even had the gall to hurt one of the sentient plants, carelessly shredding its vines and leaves. "Hey!" she shouted and, in a fit of anger, left behind Fiona and Arcana as she approached the three boys.

When she did get close to all three of them, however, she was frozen in fear. One of the boys and the student who hurt the plant was a harpy, much like Arcana, but the bad news for her was that he was a hawk harpy. As a part-snake hybrid, she was utterly not fond of birds of prey and found them horrifying. She didn't consider them evil, but she would rather avoid them at all cost. Still, her anger overpowered her fear for the time being and she slithered towards them with a dark glare in her eyes and a furious frown, standing protectively between them and the injured plant. "You lot aren't supposed to be here! What do you think you're doing?!" she yelled at them while trying to keep them away, especially the hawk harpy, from the frightened plant, her calm demeanor nearly gone. Her eyes had a glint of fear as she looked at the harpy, presumably the one who called the shots, but she refused to back down, not when he had so callously disturbed a tiny part of the school's nature.

"I'll return the favor or, at the very least, die trying to," Hayley replied, a small part of her laughing at herself and her seemingly out-of-character mellowness. However, she felt something else inside her mind, a calculative, but satisfied tinge within her chest. Realizing that her 'other self' was now content to further study her relationship and not interfere with her life, she let out a contented sigh and moved in once again to take his lips into a shy, yet deep, kiss.

Smiling hopefully, the blonde timidly scooted closer to him for comfort and sheepishly nodded, still in disbelief that he was willing to forgive her for that. "I will..." she replied, unsure what else she needed to say to further emphasize her desire to trust and love him. It's the least I could do. I mean, that's what couples do, right? Love, trust and protect each other? she thought wistfully. In a fit of joy, she gently pressed her free hand against his cheek, finding comfort and solace in the warmth his skin gave out. Giving it a gentle caress, she whispered, unsure if she was doing it correctly, "Thanks... You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that."

"Well, it's not for an entirely altruistic reason, mind you..." Hayley sighed, trying to fish out her past memories from her cluttered and muddy head. "I figured that I could keep a closer eye on you if you stay with me and then take you out if you did anything funny. That, and if you weren't a threat, as you've proven yourself to be, I could at least take you off the streets and not let you suffer alone like I did. You being homeless gave me a good opening for that." Ashamed and now remorseful of her original intentions, she frowned sadly and looked at Isaac. "I'm sorry about that... I was just too paranoid at the time to let the risk fly by. I hope you don't take that negatively."

The blonde couldn't help herself as she blushed furiously as she once again came into a very close proximity to Isaac. She could hear her heart racing and her face heating up with all the blood inside. "I, uh... I-I appreciate that... Not t-that you have t-t-to do that, b-but that's nice of y-you," she stammered and found herself trying to distract herself, doing anything to lessen the blood flow in her head and all around her face. It was a feeling she had yet to feel accustomed to and she had a feeling that this was just one of many moments like this to come. "Okay, moving on... Your turn, Isaac," she said, still trying to distract herself somehow. Argh!! This is so embarrassing! she thought with no small amount of shock and panic.
