Voltaire, I am very interested in that idea!I can upload the instrumental version if you want to put your vocals over it? =)

I wish dude, but due to a series of unfortunate events (house fire a few months back) I lost all my equipment. Otherwise I'd be all over that.
Omigod that was awesome. I wish I could lend my voice to the effort. Not that your vocals weren't great, but I would love to make it that much more METAL with something more aggressive.
Fantastic work. Made me chuckle.
M'kay, as distracted as I am by my impressive new avatar, I'm gonna try really, really hard to have that collab started by the weekend. And by the weekend I mean my weekend, which starts Monday. Because the world revolves around me.
Cool, thanks Dervs.
I figure some leather armor covered by a couple coats of mail and topped off by robes should do nicely. It'll be more of a speed and finesse build and give me an opportunity to switch up Blade's style a bit.
Oh, I was wondering, what kind of armor and weapon variations do the Redguard have? Anything that might be more suited to Blade's style than gangsta shirts and pants (cause they're baggy get it... I'll stop) or curved swords? Curved... swords.

Because those are the only Redguard items I've seen.

I don't mean to come across as el big bad GM, just thought I'd square things away early so things go smooth! I appreciate you being reasonable about all that, I certainly enjoy having you around, thanks for being easy to work with!

What, are you kidding? Your like, the fucking Darth Vader of GMs. I'm afraid if I don't comply you'll very calmly force choke me through the screen or something. Er, that's a complement I swear!
Darth Dervish. That actually has a ring to it.

And what the heck Dervs! You didn't even comment on my totally awesome Mosin Nagant joke! I thought you of all people would appreciate that. I am disappoint.

Couple things with that last post, Volt. The first is the shield, I am not a fan of people adding things to their inventory without GM say so. I'd prefer that you waited until Soul or I describe loot and inventory in an area before making changes to your equipment. The reason being is simple, it's a slippery slope where it sets a precedent where people start feeling that they can do the same. We were already linent with the swords in Chorrol, and we established thay dwemer stuff is high-tier equipment, so randomly deciding you want new stuff, especially of that caliber and just justifying it in a time skip isn't cool. I don't want this to turn into 'And Blade killed a guy in power armour and took it for himself' or whatever.

Gotcha. I didn't think you would mind the shield since, outside of being a targe, it has no special properties. It's just a shield with spikes on it. Ill redact that if you like though.

Your character is already strong, which brings me to point two.We get that Blade is tough, but in just about every encounter he's basically unstoppable, takes no injuries, and makes everyone he fights look like a bunch of weak, half-wit Redshirts.

I think that's a little unfair, well, the no injuries part anyway. Yeah I do have him go on sprees but I try to balance it out with injuries.
He got busted up by those trolls when I first started. He was near death after Chorral. He got cut up during the boarding of the Dominion ship (admittedly less so that time.) And I was gonna have him get carved up in the fight with Krieger's minions too but then the site blew up and I have no context as to what they were actually capable of, and NoSoul's characters seemed healthy enough so I went along with that.

Maybe I don't explain it well while I'm writing, but due to the chaotic nature of a pitched battle, not all of the people he kills are necessarily killed 'fairly' per se. Many of them just get blindsided and it's over, so I don't go into detail about exactly what happened to them. But when it's a fair, face to face fight, I write it as more of a duel, like the time he faced off against the dwemer he took the greatsword from for example.

But I get your point and will try to balance it more.

He's not going to step into a tournament with a bunch of Alik'r warriors and other veteran fighters who have fought the dwemer more than he has and come out on top and have them just get walked all over.

I realize I didn't go into much detail with the fights (I was too tired at the time) but I did mention that he was having a hard time with the more skilled warriors, and I also assumed that there would be plenty of less skilled ones, which he could steam roll.

Remember in the OOC where I wrote that the goal was believable characters with lots of development and not unstoppable badasses? Blade hasn't changed, at all, since the game started and he can pretty much be defined by 'apathic badass who is unphased by everything who is emotionally static and is only driven by fighting. ' I get he's a gladiator and that's the only life he knows, but he's still a person.

I actually agree with you on that point, his development is going very slowly. But I do have something in mind. It actually started with your mention of how the people of Chorral looked to him as a hero after the battle and he started getting recognition for helping a cause instead of just fighting for himself. It's happening slowly, but it's happening.

Final point, the Hammerfell equipment is necessary for the Helgathe arc because it's the dwemer capital in the province and as such is the most secure. The guards aren't going to let strangely clothed, heavily armed and armoured people walk the streets unchallenged, especially since they know about the Heroes of Tamriel after Chorrol and there's uprisings in other cities. Even if that were socially acceptable, the dwemer are not going to see him with dwemer gear and think, 'he has good taste!' They're going to think, rightfully, he killed somebody for it.

Ah. I was not aware we were going on a stealth mission. Will fix.
Sorry guys, I've been procrastinating (obviously, it's a sickness don't judge me) if you don't wanna wait for me to start the collab, anybody else feel free to do so.
Wets-His-Blade pondered recent events as he sat in his chair just outside the short, wood walled ring that designated the combat area for the games that were being held in the camp. Two pretty (in Blade's opinion) Argonian maids were tending to him as his unfocused eyes stared absently at the combatants.

His mind wandered to Krieger's island. Of the fight with the zombie horde, the journey through the dark mausoleum, and the eventual death of that thrice damned Mage. Blade had, as usual, enjoyed plunging the dagger into the lunatic's ribcage in his berserk fury. Everything after that was a bloody, rage fueled blur. He wasn't sure how exactly they escaped, but it didn't really matter. They were alive and that's all that mattered.

When asked by the sailors that had remained on the ship, what had happened, he just shrugged and said simply,
"I killed a lotta shit. What do ya think?"
And left it at that. Not because he was traumatized, but because these things were par for the course at this point in his life.

He was pleased to have found his weapons at some point during their fight underground and even walked away with a little something extra. During all the excitement, Blade had grabbed an enemy's shield for his own use and had held onto it for the duration of the battle. Later, when he'd calmed down, he discovered that the shield was a unique find. It was a simple round shield for the most part, but instead of the usual dome of metal in the center, it was adorned with spikes. He recalled this type being called a targe, and gladly replaced his old steel one with it.

Upon arriving at the insurgents camp, Blade was led, along with the others and several new allies it seemed, to their tents, where Redguard weapons and armor were available for use. Blade had held up the lightweight gear for inspection and scoffed disdainfully before tossing it aside like so much rubbish.
"Yeah, that'll stop a Dwemer blade like stalks of wheat stop a sickle. I think I'll stick with what I've got, thanks."

He'd found himself at the makeshift arena a short time later, after wandering the camp and briefly considering a fling at the brothel. Of course he immediately signed himself up. When one of the organizers informed him that he also had to contribute to the reward pot, Blade looked up and raised a surprised brow, "There's a reward too?"

Just as he had at the Capitol arena, Blade made quick work of most of his competition in every event he entered. None had been able to withstand his brute strength during the unarmed combat event. And now the weapons portion was coming to a close. He'd gotten more stiff competition here. Armed with blunted weapons of their choice, the combatants tested their skills with a blade and some of the Redguard were quite skilled. More than once Blade had almost been bested by their extravagant patterns and techniques. Normally he could have countered this with the range of his greatsword, but there were none available since even a blunt weapon of that size could be quite lethal.
So he made do with a broadsword and shield. He quickly adopted a rushing tactic. Since the Redguard could outdo him with technique if he played that game to long, he forced them to play his by charging in with his shield up, disrupting their patterns and gaining the upper hand through brute force. It was a simple tactic and was getting repetitive. But so far no one had discovered a way to counter it.

His attention was brought back to the present as one of his attendants pushed fruit to his mouth while the other massaged his corded shoulders. He slowly plucked the morsel from her delicate fingers with his teeth as he gazed at her. She smiled knowingly before walking off, Blade's eyes following her. His eyes travelled lower and his brows raised as he noticed a little extra sway in the maid's hips, then she was out of range. He turned back to the arena, where the winner of the bout was declared, and grinned. Tonight was turning out well.
But tomorrow promised to be even better.
