BTW, i hate hammerspace.
Cheap, but heavy. One of the advantages that magic does give you is having a wide selection of spells without any weight penalty. Healling, omni-hazardous protection, highly effective situational attacks and whole lot of other stuff - having all that in tech requires a lot of equipment and heavy-duty transport, whilst arcane powers allow to avoid the hussle.

That is why i preffer a soft blend of technology and magic. :3
nooooooooooo

Tech may be harder to explain, and thus, have its power justified, but it is no way inferior to magic.
Huh? What's that powers>tech?

Our industrial production levels have been raised, my Lord! Unfortunately, all greenry, forests and agriculture have been wiped in process.
BTW, what are the possible means of defending against a particle beam weapon (dodging-before-it-fires aside)?

An excellent source for facts.

Hence the "im not sure why" part.
Oh, and though im not sure why, TvTropes say that lasers do not cauterize wounds.
Hey.

First of all, the slightest "fog-of-war" (dust and vapour particles) would actualy impede the work of laser weaponary, not to mention rainstorms or fog. Atmospheric conditions fucking up you laser? Check.
Second of all, a laser powerful enough will still punch through a mirror, having only part of it reflected.
