What exactly are you adressing with that? I dont think i mentioned anything contradicting your statement, i just said that 500 tons seems more than enough for a minimal-stat focused, high tier character's strength reference to me.

Im okay with a character having enough strength to lift their own and their equipment's weight, but having all the 500 tons to top that seems ridicilous. 500 should be more of a 100% benchmark for high tiers, but not something desirable. Seriously, there are a lot more interesting things than lifting big stuff, and i dont really see how increasing the cap past that number will make pure strength characters that much more fun to fight with.

BTW, interesting fact: placing more distance between you and a gunner wont neccesarily result in easier dodging.
Of course, the time given for you to move is directly proportional to distance, but so is the advatage of the angular movement. If we consider the bullet's trajectory a type 3 lever, then we get a clear advatage in aiming speed, which may as well even out the distance disadvantage for the shooter. Of course, this also means that at close range, movement in the horizontal plane is more likely to disorientate a gunsliner, but then, the dodger will have to deal with the increased amount of bullets that reach him in a given amount of time.

If lasers won't be overly powerful, then i think that it's okay to accept characeters with 'em, as in that case, it would be possible for armor to increase the actual time between the shot and the body damage, making dodging somewhat possible, albeit requiring to sacrifice the integrity one's armor each time.

Sturm-M full-body armor

The Strum-M consists of 4 main layers all of which cotribute to both the wearers comfort and safety. It's exterior is mainly composed of internal CNT webbing-reinforced boron carbide plating, effective at dispersing kinetic energy and combating sharp weaponry; additionaly, their mold provides a higher chance of ricocheting. Protection for the limbs comes in form of inserts, while the torso is consists of a multitude of overlapping plates held together by a fibrous vest, their positioning allowing for both maximum mobility and protection. Covering the whole body, is also a layer of ceramic chainmail, similar to modern day Dragon Skin, compensating for the lack of the more cumbersome plates where needed.
The rest are garments composed with the use of UHMWPWE: the collar (remember those SWAT goons from Equilibrium?), gloves, boots and skirt.

The plates are also connected to the suit's heat sink with a net of superconductive fibers, grown directly inside using magical craft. Protection for the limbs comes in form of inserts, while the torso is made up of a multitude of overlapping plates held together by a fibrous vest, their positioning allowing for both maximum mobility and protection. On the back, beneath the shoulder pads, there are several gaps between overlapping (a strike perpindicular to the armor's surface won't reach any of these) plates: they allow for air circulation and vaporised waste disposal, a filtering station located underneath. Covering the whole body, is also a layer of ceramic chainmail, similar to the modern day Dragon Skin, taking place of the more cumbersome parts where needed.
