I've been RPing for about 10 years on and off, and I secretly want to be a writer. I'm a casual/advance RPer with a distaste for character sheets and extensive templating. I just want to write well with others.

Creative collaboration brings me so much joy, so please don't hesitate to message me if you're interested in telling a story together!

RANDOM SKETCHESSSS

For my fellow wake-up-in-the-middle-of-nowhere peeps. @Bunnita@AliceInRedHeels

And yes, I agree with the above. I'm having a great time trading posts with you guys!! A good story always turns the wheels of creativity in my head :D
Van rose to her feet shakily and stood to face the stranger. Water dripped from her hair and clothes--she must have looked like a drowned mouse. The waterfall babbled softly behind her, birds sang without care, and sunlight danced in her vision. She lifted a hand to shield her eyes and felt unease settle in the bottom of her stomach.

Where am I?

The boy said something and she snapped to attention: "Uh, yeah. I did, didn't I?" She fidgeted, wringing out the water of her shirt. She couldn't remember what she was last doing before she found herself here--or who she was entirely. The dog tags were cold against her skin, and she looked down to the etchings on the metal.

"Van. I'm Van..." she muttered, looking at the inscription. She picked up the metal and angled it to get a better look; her date of birth and name were on the front, and in the back, there was an intricate drawing etched into the metal. For a moment, she got lost in admiring the metal work, and memories of a woman with red long hair flashed through her mind's eye for a moment before she stumbled slightly.

She shook out her limbs, a practice she did to focus on the present before noticing that the boy--Malcolm--was standing their with his hand outstretched. Van hesitated before reaching out to grasp it. They shook hands awkwardly, the way teenagers did it, loosely and with sweaty palms.

"I don't know. I-I don't remember much at all--"

Doing well! It's humid and hot all the time here, but gets cooler in the evening.

Nice post by the way, Bunnita! I see Robin is getting some interest hoohoohoho; these are the sort of things that will fly right past her head.
The only thing she could hear was the sound of wind rushing past her, and she reveled in the sensation of weightlessness.

Van opened her eyes and looked longingly at the bright, blue sky above of her; clouds drifted gently past and seemed to be shrinking in size by the second. Her clothes rippled with the wind and the dog tags around her neck reached towards the sky. She closed her again again, reveling in the sensation of the rushing wind and weightlessness before snapping them open and flailing her arms to find a hold.

She was falling--

She turned to look at the ground, quickly approaching, and opened her mouth in the imitation of a scream before she was plunged into a warm pool of water.

It was deep, she thought, as her body recoiled from the impact. Her side stung and ached, having hit the water at an uncomfortable angle, but she was otherwise fine. Van kicked her feet and flapped her arms wildly, struggling to reach the surface. She reached out, fingers breaching the surface of the water and emerged, sputtering for air.

She was in a pool of water, surrounded by forestry further away on all sides. A small waterfall rushed to her right, and it scared her to think of how close she was to landing on solid ground. Van reached the edge of the water and dug her fingers in grass and dirt, heaving herself out of the pond. It took considerable effort to get out of the water; her body felt heavy and her soaked clothes refusing to cooperate.

Her feet danged over the water, and she rolled over onto her back, shedding her black leather jacket. The sky was a beautiful blue and the sun shone gently on her—the same view that was so peaceful moments earlier, now seemed so unfamiliar.

She lied still for a few moments before the sound of rapidly approaching footsteps came from above. She tilted her head backwards to see the figure of a boy.

“Uhm,” she said, anervously bending her neck to look at the boy who hovered above of her,”..Hi?"
YAY! Interested, and will have a CS over the weekend!

A soft glow of blue and purple light blanketed them, providing enough light to provide visibility up to 7 feet away. If they needed more, Robin could easily take the lantern out, and if they needed less, she could use her hat to dim the light.

They pressed onwards, the leaves of billowy trees hovering over them as if providing protection. The panicked sounds and light were still behind them, but farther now, as they picked up pace. Robin continued her swift progress forward, with no idea where she was heading. They just needed to get away from whatever was after them. The farther away they got, the louder the dead leaves sounded under their feet, the louder their heavy breaths—

”Robin..I’m Robin.” she said. The last word got caught dryly in her throat, and she broke into a coughing fit; speaking wasn’t her strong point, and she was reminded how much every time she opened her mouth. It was better to get names out of the way if they were going to stick together.

A hand slipped into her own. They didn’t break their speed and kept moving swiftly, avoiding the thick roots of the trees and the occasional debris that scattered the floor. It was almost calming, this feeling. Nostalgia hit her like a brick, and she silently longed for her home, where she was free to roam the alleys and rooftops with her motley crew of runners, and where her family was, working and toiling at the inn like they always did.

But there was a lightness in her; there was adventure and new terrain to explore—if there was one thing she got from her father, it was her wily nose for adventure.

Her senses still screamed danger, but there was an undercurrent of excitement. Looking into the darkness of the forest, she wondered if she was foolish to feel that way.

The blue light from behind her dimmed and she looked back, to see the translucent girl stop and spin in circles. They had made considerable ground, and the lights that followed behind them were much smaller than before.

Fireflies fluttered around the mysterious girl as she spun, gently light reflecting off her dress and flowers; Robin stood silently, transfixed by the radiance of the girl compared to the eeriness of the forest. She could almost understand how someone could feel so at home in such a strange environment, but the absolute carefreeness of the girl eluded her.

Robin looked back at the lights in the distance and let go of MC’s hand, rushing towards the nameless girl. She grabbed the girl’s wrist and gently tugged her forwards. Robin looked at her with steady eyes and urged her to continue with them.

I'm better(ish) now, and yeahh trying to write a research paper when all I wanted to do was sleep wasn't fun at all.
I have a week till spring break, and then a month before I'm done with this semester, so not too much longer.

Always nice to come back to a burning forest though.

That's good to hear :D And yes, you came back at a good time HAHA

Also, do you guys (specifically the people with Robin) think we should do another round or hold for the Mokley post?
