Evelyn looked uncomfortable as the girl said she’d tried to girl herself and couldn’t. Even if she hadn’t succeeded, the thought was disturbing. You Evelyn as the keeper of Defeat. I am sure you have noticed that you cannot turn down the simplest challenges. If you lose a challenge, you experience pain but if you win you experience pleasure. Evie hesitated, knowing what the woman had written was indeed true. The truth of it made her blush though, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone else in the room. Surely some jackass would challenge her now to something she couldn’t win, and she’d feel the stabbing pains again. Or maybe they’d be nice and let her win something so she’d feel better. But these were people with demons in them. She supposed in a way, they were all corrupted now.

Evelyn sighed and glanced over as Conrad introduced himself and said he had nightmares. Maybe that was the reason for the mask. Hmm… Then Katherin spoke of a girl named Tiffany who had lies, and Jorn who had disease. That made Evelyn shudder. Deafeat sucked, but disease sounded worse.

Wait, wait, wait.. hold on a second, Katherine. You’d actually expect me to believe I have a… demon? Living inside of me? Evelyn hesitated at the man’s words. He was trying to be logical, but logic didn’t exactly make sense here did it? It seemed everyone was readily accepting this because it made sense. Even Evelyn was tempted to understand exactly what proof their host had beyond this surprising knowledge about them all.

Shut it! Evelyn jumped, looking a bit scared as Jorn yelled out. ”Umm… the only other explanation there would be really would be a shared delusion, and that would seem rarer to me, than demon possession,” Evie said, hoping she didn’t sound stupid. Evie glanced to whom she assumed was Tiffany, who began stuttering and saying she could hear a demon in her head. Evelyn frowned. She hadn’t noticed a voice in her head or anything… Perhaps he was latently waiting, or just feeding her thoughts when appropriate so he could keep tearing her down in a slow tortuous way. She had no idea. She’d heard a voice in her head before, but then again, she thought she’d just been talking to herself. Hell now she was confused. And the Tiffany girl was sliding to the floor.

”Uhh… are you guys gonna be okay?” she asked. Ah, this was the challenge wasn’t it? To appear to be the most sane one in the room. If she wasn’t, well, she’d be losing perhaps. Or maybe she was making up games in her mind. Maybe she was losing her mind. Either way, at least she wasn’t yelling for no reason or grabbing her head or wearing a mask, or trying to kill herself.
There was a boy with a backpack who showed up, and a girl named Colline introduced herself. Another boy with a tie on named Alan, and then the boy who sat next to her said his name was Baylen. Gwen mentally tried to recall every name she’d just heard with a face, but she wasn’t sure if she’d remember them or not. She would try hard though. After all, she didn’t want to be rude. ”Gwen,” she said simply to those that had arrived after she’d already said her name, when the guy beside her asked if they smelled something. Gwen looked surprised but sniffed the air. Maybe there was something? She didn’t know. She shrugged, not getting it. She’d never smelled pot in her life, or if she did, she had not recognized it. She’d always been too busy studying and playing sports to take part in smoking. Or even drinking for that matter.

Gwen didn’t have time to ask Baylen what he was smelling before a pretty blonde girl who looked about the same size as she did, stepped up in front of them and smiled. She looked like she knew something they didn’t, so Gwen looked towards her, waiting for whatever she had to say. The girl’s starting intro made Gwen chuckle a bit, thinking it rather corny, or something meant for younger campers, but she just smirked and continued listening to the girl.

The ‘rules’ seemed to be basically what she’d lived with her whole life, so no surprises there. A bonfire sounded great though, as Gwen had always loved the few she’d managed to go to. A tour? Was the camp really that big? Meh. Probably so by the looks of the map the lady had given her when she checked in. Still. With a map, the only reason she’d go on this tour was for the activities at the end.

Gwen cleared her throat, letting her eyes widen for a minute before going half open again as if to say Well, that was interesting before standing from the table. ”Well, guess I could stand a few corny, getting to know you orientation activities,” she mumbled, making air quotes around the last two words before smiling a bit and heading to where the blonde chick had gone to.
Eva - Maria's Home - Tony

Eva simply kissed Tony back, giving a bit more of a sincere smile at his words and mouthing ‘I love you too’ back to him. She held onto him as they rode, deciding to cheer herself up by thinking about eloping to Las Vegas or something fun instead of a big fancy wedding. The time passed quickly that way, and soon they were on the other side of town at Maria’s apartment. She handed him back his helmet, running her fingers through her hair as he got off and nodded. Like she was going to stay far away from him out here? This wasn’t exactly where she normally hung out. Even the person she was coming here to help would probably beat her senseless on her worst day. So, Eva took his hand and squeezed it reassuringly before walking to the apartment and watching him go in in front of her.

Eva! was all she heard before she quickly went inside, crinkling her nose a bit at the smell and disorder or the place, but otherwise finding Tony right away. ”What? What? she said, worried he was hurt or Maria was dead. Even she wouldn’t wish such a thing on her or anyone else. Eva came in just in time to see Tony lifting Maria and putting her on the couch… or furniture. Whatever it was.

Eva furrowed her brow, feeling herself going into nurse mode, especially since Tony appeared to be freaking out just a bit. He put his fingers to Maria’s neck, but then didn’t tell Eva if the woman had a pulse or not. So with a small sigh, she stepped forward and put her own fingers to Maria’s neck, finding a pulse. Good, she was just stupid, not dead, she thought to herself. Eva jumped at Tony knocked crap around and yelled, punching a wall. ”Calm the fuck down, Tony. I’m not telling anyone, and you’re not helping by yelling. Freak out later,” she said in scolding tone of voice but not without some care for the situation. ”It’d be nice to have some of the stuff I have at the house,” she mumbled, still frowning. ”But honestly, she’s still breathing and that’s all that matters. We really can’t do much but monitor her breathing. If it gets too slow or tries to stop I’ll give her rescue breathing, otherwise I’d need naloxone or at least the charcoal pills I have at home,” she said to Tony, ignoring his question about Maria’s wakefulness. If the woman woke up, they’d know it. So, Eva sat back on the floor, folding her hands in her lap and watching Maria to make sure the girl did breathe or at best, wake up. In the back of her mind, she thought she could have done better about helping Tony not freak out, but honestly she was more concerned about keeping her own cool so Maria didn’t die.
Well, and there are plenty of non-fatal diseases =P
Evera glanced to her other side and almost jumped when she saw Andrew, clearing her throat and smiling a bit. ”Oh, hi, sorry I didn’t notice you at first,” she said, looking apologetic. He certainly did look different than he had on the bus. But then again, most of them did. Evera looked back to Roxanne who said she was going to get something to eat, and hesitated, trying to determine if she was hungry or not. ”Sure, I actually don’t remember if I had breakfast or not,” she frowned, thinking to herself. ”Hopefully we can get an idea of the place without getting lost since we’ll all be together,” she said more matter of factly, seeming more herself as the seconds ticked by and the chill in her spine dissipated.
Eva was thinking to herself when she heard the door open, she glanced over her shoulder and saw Isabel walking, making her roll her eyes and just turn back the way she had been. Great. She’d spent the first 2 years she’d known Tony trying to be nice to the woman but the last year she’d given up. Why be nice to someone who hates you for no reason? Eva had learned to just not care. Isabel hadn’t seemed to notice the change in her demeanor towards her, which had just made it that more obvious to Eva that no matter what she did, Tony’s aunt would never respect her.

Why are you here? Tony isn’t here, he’s out on business with the boys, so maybe you should wait for him at your little castle princess. You don’t belong around here hun, so I suggest you get going once you finish that drink, it’s on the house Isabel blurted out at her before walking away, Eva’s middle finger staring at the woman’s back until she closed the office door. Eva just shook her head with a light sigh after lowering her hand, glancing up at Jasmine.

”Thank you,” Eva said kindly, a sincere smile on her face while she waited a bit longer and heard roaring engines getting louder. She turned to the side on the stool she was on, leaning her elbow on the counter while the guys started coming in. She smiled and waved cutely at Charles when he raised his glass to her, glancing back to the door as Tony walked in. She kissed him back and shook her head at his question, opening her mouth only for Harry to yell out a call to a meeting. ”Sounds good babe,” Eva said happily when Tony said he’d take her out. She slid off the stool and pulled the back of her shirt down, then putting her hands in her jacket pockets while she waited once again.

She yawned and moseyed around the bar until she felt Tony touch her, and then slid her hand from her pocket so he could take it. She opened her mouth to say something but was again interrupted, this time by Jasmine who said Maria might be in trouble. Eva did her best not to roll her eyes, knowing Tony would of course go check on her, when she was probably just fine. And of course, he agreed, pulling her with him. She gave an obviously fake smile to Tony as he got on his bike outside.

”Um, yeah. I guess. Whatever,” she sighed softly, taking his helmet and putting it on before getting on his bike with him. If Maria really was in need, he’d be calling her anyway. Best to just be there in case so she didn’t have to drive up afterwards anyway.

Evelyn followed their host, glancing at the others a bit and trying to determine what she could about them from how they acted and appeared. They all seemed like something was off, but then again it could have just been her mind skewing her perspective that way. Evie shook her head and just grabbed a cookie off the snack table and watched as the redhead turned on a projector and began writing.

Demons? Evelyn frowned, popping the rest of the sweet into her mouth and wiping her hands on her clothes. ”Um, immortal… hmm… I’m not sure I want to test that, but how can we be sure what you’re saying is true? And are all 12 of us different?” she asked, unsure exactly how demonic things worked. If all of this was even true. Evelyn had always been fascinated by ghost hunter shows, demon possessions, horror movies, etc. But she’d never planned on being IN a situation like this.
Seamus was surprised by her reaction, expecting her to say something out of fear, or something that said she expected such a malformation. After all, she’d gone right for his jacket, and he figured people out here were either used to this kind of thing, or afraid by it. But she seemed impressed. He shrugged his jacket back on, eyebrows furrowed slightly but expression grateful as she said he was right about it not being safe. ”Oh alright,” he nodded, making sure the jacket was tight on him. He tilted his head in towards her a bit as she lowered her voice, expression darkening.

Shifters Hmm, he hadn’t recalled ever hearing the term before. Was that what he was? Apparently. And he didn’t want to get caught. He could only thank fate, luck, whatever was watching out for him, that he’d met this girl first and not someone who would be afraid of him or turn him over to these ‘patrols’.

As she extended her hand, Seamus took it, shaking it and tilting his head a bit when she said her name. That was different. Wasn’t freedom a concept, not a name? Then again, he supposed anything could be a name. ”I’m Seamus,” he said firmly before letting go of her hand and hesitating at her question.

”Um, sure, food and water would be great,” he smiled slightly with a nod, letting her lead so he could walk next to her, where ever they were going. ”I don’t exactly know where I’m from. I’ve been walking for a day so… well I’m just really not sure,” he said, frowning heavily and exhaling deeply. It suddenly dawned on him that she might diagnose him with amnesia, and he looked up at her with a less concerning expression. ”I mean, well, I don’t know the name of the place. You see I’m from this lab, where they kept me my whole life, so… all of this…” he indicated, waving about them a little, ”Is new to me,” he finished, not knowing if someone like him was rare or not. Not many people escaped from labs did they? Surely not.

Nona giggled as Aemilia agreed with her, also ignoring the poor people who were so below them before settling in the front row with her friend. She held onto her arm, the two quite a pair, and already catching eyes from near them.

She was enjoying talking to Aemilia when a man walked up looking very official, and saying Aemilia’s father wanted her protected. Nona frowned, scoffing and looking as if the man must be confused. Who would dare try and hurt Aemilia? This was quite bizarre. Aemilia seemed to think so as well judging by her eye roll and snapping off to the man. It made Nona grin, giving the man a ‘shooing’ motion with her hand. Such a presence would surely drive away the ones they were trying to catch.

Your sister tried to kill your father today the man spoke before walking away. Nona looked at the man like he was crazy, shaking her head and looking to Aemilia. ”Well, your sister is not only pathetic but completely mad!” she said, looking surprised with her frown and wondering exactly just what had happened. She only hoped her own sister wasn’t that crazy. Hopefully, Aemiliana would be thrown in jail. Forever. Nona petted Aemilia's hair in a sympathetic way, pouting for her.
