Bumping a quiet OOC
Adelie felt a staircase lurch as a familiar voice called out to her, turning around, she smiled as she saw her friend Evanora behind her. ”Allo der!” she said brightly, holding onto the railing until the stairs stopped. She waved for her friend to come with her. ”Come on then, E. We got breakfast!” she said, hopping off the steps with a bound and heading for the Great Hall. Addy found Gryffindor’s table and the general area where she usually sat, plopping down and reaching out for a bagel and smearing cream cheese on it before thinking aloud.

”I wonder where Jimmy’s gone off ta. Prolly getting’ in trouble,” she said absentmindedly about her other Gryffindor friend. She looked up to Evanora and smiled. ”I got a letter from me mum yesterday. Said she and me dad are headin’ on a cruise over Christmas, so I get ta stay ‘ere over break. Adrienne prolly threw a fit when she got hers, but oh well,” she shrugged. Addy was used to going back home during Christmas break, but honestly the thought of being at Hogwarts, around her friends, books, classes, etc. Sounded much more appealing. She would get a head start on the second half of the year after all. Not to mention continue practicing her animagus abilities, which she had yet to reveal to anyone that she was even attempting.

”What aboot you? Goin’ ‘ome er do ya know yet?” she asked, knowing the subject was far off, but Adelie was a planner after all. She took a bit of her bagel and glanced at the other tables and some others at their own for a moment as well, finding it hard to stay eyes locked on to one thing for a long period of time, though she saw and heard everything near her and retained it.
Yvette got comfortable in her seat, sitting next to a guy who didn’t look much older or younger than herself. She was too shy to really say anything though, so she just pulled out a book and pretended to read for a few minutes. Really, her eyes were flickering around the plane ,taking in everything and thinking about her trip. She was to meet a chaperone once arriving in Europe, but for now she was on her own. She’d only ever been on a plane once before, and it was a tiny little thing that shook. This plane seemed rather stable and comfortable… safe. In comparison at least. She eased into the atmosphere once they were in the air, and actually started reading.

She couldn’t find it in her to sleep though, despite the long plane ride. She was tired though, and her heavy eyelids began lifting when the plane began to run into turbulence. She gripped her seat, mentally reminding herself everything would be fine. When suddenly, people were screaming, she felt like she was going to be sick, the masks fell from above them, but she was frozen, holding onto her seat and gritting her teeth, tears stinging her eyes. A sickening metallic sound happened, and looking behind her, Yvette saw the plane had torn apart. I’m going to die… she thought before everything went black.

Not to sound rude or mean, but the uniform at Hogwarts is a plain black robe. Why is no one in uniform?

I planned on my character putting her robes on over her clothes for classes :)

Whirlwind, I understand what you mean, but I feel you should specify whether the things she remembers is what she sees or what she hears. I think she'd be a bit too powerful if she remembered everything she'd ever seen or heard. I think an eidetic memory is remembering what you've seen. So, choose either sight or sound, and that I'll allow.

Seen is fine
I'm still here ><
Adelie – 6:30 AM – Gryffindor Girl’s Dormitory & Common Room

Adelie heard her alarm ringing and reached over to smack it til it stopped berating her. She lifted her tired, disheveled head from her pillow and made a soft growling sound, hating to be woken up. Her long brown hair tangled around her throat and arms, causing her to throw her arms up to try and get it off her as she slipped out of bed. Normally, she wore it in a braid but last night she’d gotten so wrapped up in A Guide to Advanced Transfiguration that she’d fallen asleep on its pages. She grabbed a brush and began running it through her locks before setting it down and grabbing the textbook, shutting it and hoping she hadn’t gotten too much drool on its pages.

She got dressed in some jeans and a tucked in white shirt, slipping her feet into some flat boots. All the while, she repeated her schedule in her head. Easily embarrassed, she was not repeating day one where she’d accidentally walked in on the wrong class and sat there for several minutes before she realized her mistake, running out and showing up late to her actual class. She’d been bright red and mortified, and the memory was still replaying in her mind.

With her clothes sufficiently in place and her schedule repeated enough for her liking, she packed her messenger bag with a the books, parchment, quills, and what not she needed for classes. She double checked everything about her before leaving the dorms, heading to the common room and looking around for any of her friends. It was still early however, and although there were a few other Gryffindors up bright and early, she didn’t see anyone she’d sit and discuss lectures with at the moment. She smiled and waved to her fellow housemates before leaving, a few roling their eyes as they found her need for excellence obnoxious, and others smiling and waving back, finding her motherly nature comforting and charming. Adelie didn’t care either way though, leaving out of the portrait that contained the wing and heading down the various changing staircases. She was starving and hoped breakfast was being served or served soon, anyway.

So, an eidetic memory?

Never heard the term before, but after looking it up, yes I suppose so :) I'm basing it on a guy I know in person.
Name: Cricket Westley

Apox Age Range: She believes she looks 25, but could be off by a few years

Room Items: (Up to 5)

1. Dresser with mirror (all drawers are empty), with lipstick smeared on the mirror with the words “I refuse to give up!!!” (picture)
2. A picture of a baby boy in a frame wearing a santa hat (picture)
3. A camera without any pictures on it, or SD card (picture)
4. A postcard without any addresses on it that reads “The sunsets I’ve seen since being here can’t compare to your beauty. I miss you. Xoxo”(picture)
5. A slightly smashed tube of pink lipstick (picture)

Self Assessment: Cricket feels she has a determination inside her, as upon waking to her surroundings, she feels anger. But channeled anger into wanting to do something about what’s happening, not an uncontrolled anger to throw things and what not. She believes herself to be open minded with an innocence in order to believe in something supernatural like a God, as she feels she is religious. She finds herself to be a quick thinker, although possibly jumping to conclusions by the way she quickly left her bed when waking and began analyzing everything in the room, even looking for other people’s hairs left behind and taking out all the dresser drawers to find more. She feels a bit lethargic, as if she wasn’t used to getting such a deep sleep or being very strong, though her mind seems sharp and her body doesn’t feel weak. Perhaps mentally and emotionally run down from everyday life prior to this. She also finds herself impatient, wanting to find the next thing, the next motivation, seemingly needing stimulation every second like she’s used to keeping busy.

Personal Profile (Under Development): Judging by the bear, Cricket believes she might be religious in some fashion. When it comes to the baby in the frame, she has to assume it’s her son. Not to mention her stomach is a maze of various white and pink stretch marks and scars. The postcard suggests someone cares about her. Or at least did. Do they miss her because they are no longer together? Or because they are simply not where she is? She’s not sure. As there is no picture of a significant other in the room like the baby. She sees nothing regarding parents, which leads her to believe they aren’t a big part of her life for some reason. Estranged or dead, she assumes. The camera makes her wonder if she wasn’t an amateur photographer. The camera doesn’t look professional, but good enough. And appears to store a few pictures without needing a memory card. The lipstick suggests to her that she cares at least a little about her appearance, although the neutral hue makes her think she didn’t like to overdo it.

Bear:

Says the prayer “Now I lay me down to sleep” when pressed.

Journal:

Yellow tinted pages, all blank

Appearance:

Approx. 5’6”, 130lbs (give or take 5)

Mia Lane is accepted. I feel I should tell you that milk is a liquid that does not have water in it, so you cannot control it. Blood, on the other hand, as well as any other liquid composed of a mix of water and something else, can be controlled so long as it retains liquid form. Only water and blood are able to be frozen or evaporated. Also, I'd like a more detailed explanation as to how she retains "vast amounts of knowledge.

I guess I've joked one too many times that skim milk is white water. I'll change it. And have you ever met someone, or maybe you are like this yourself, that anything they hear once they can recall later? Like they're a sponge? That's all I meant by that. She forgets hardly anything at all.
