He had found this love in a young woman whom would only meet him by the river bank. The woman and Hito soon became so infatuated in one another. Hito's family is wary about this relationship that Hito begins to talk about and forbids him from going back to the river bank to seen the woman. Hito refuses and becomes upset that his family doesn't understand his love. Deciding to run away and elope with her, he runs down to the river bank once more only bringing with him his flute that he would play for her each night. Reaching the bank, Hito was shocked to see the woman he loved sinking beneath the water and dove in to save her. He lost himself in the waters trying to find her. He was focused on her and not his own safety. Diving down deep, he noticed a will o' the wisp circling downwards and reached out towards it. Hito soon woke up laying on the bank of the river he had just seen his love sink into. He ran towards his home for help only to being to feel weak the further he got from the water. He began feeling weightless and found that his body was slowly turning into mist. Returning to the river, he found will o' the wisps and was surprised that... He could hear them, speak to them. From their words, he learned that the woman of the lake would lure men like himself to their doom using the will o' the wisps. [i]But why was he still alive? Why was he unable to make it home? [/i] He had instead been cursed to always remain at the water's edge. He would never know to true reason as to why she sparred him. Over time, he watched Athens fall and regrow with every passing year and soon became aware that he never aged. The river soon began to dry up as well. He then found that he could move and form in different bodies of water. If one dried up, he would find another. He can be heard playing his flute, calling and drawing people to the waters he inhabits. He is known to play sad melodies to lure people in. He is a very lonely being and only wants company. His melodies can only be heard by those willing to follow the Will o' the Wisps and chose to believe that they are within reality and not a dream.
