Communications to the Antarctic Union, the Fourth Reich
To the Antarctic:
"Antarctic Union, we designate you 'Emperor Penguin.' Emperor Penguin, the chances of us aligning ourselves to you are high. Standby for higher ranking members to decide. May possibly take from a few hours to several weeks. We appreciate your offer. Spacer-1 out."

To the Fourth Reich:
"Fourth Reich, we designate you 'Tiger Tactic.' Tiger Tactic, the chances of us aligning ourselves to you are decreasing. Food and water are vital to our survival, as we are low and we are not able to sustain ourselves. Standby for higher ranking members to evaluate. Spacer-1 out."

Ceres Independence Station New Point.
Three Communications officers were giggling in their alcove from their designations.
"Tiger Tactic? Really?"
"Yea, well what'd you have called them?!"
"I dunno. Hitler?"
"You know who Hitler is, right?"
"Yea, wasn't he some German commander or something?"
i have a race of bears :b
they are nice bears and may bear [hehe] some resemblance to teddy bears.
Response to the Fourth Reich's Offer, twenty minutes after receiving it
"The Ceres Independence recognizes your offer. Standby; we await other possible offers. Request; what have you to offer the Ceres Independence? We would require additional military support in case of an armed attack or terrorist action against ourselves, and supplies, namely food, water, and electronics.

Oh... And there are nations with off world holdings already so you're not the only ones :p

Like an asteroid close to being a dwarf planet in a zone that's got a good deal of resources?

And could you list who has what?

I'm still waiting for America to be online:L Might be in my interests to partner with you though.

Probably for anyone who can sustain the needs of the Ceres.

darkwolf687 said
Uh... Given that America is now an Empire, they are probably more interested in invading you than partnership with you... I'm guessing since the Ceres is now technically a foreign nation which they likely view as part of their own, and given their whole "North America must be one nation!" they have possibly nationalised any assets in North America

I don't think they'd capture New Horizon's/Ceres Independence information/data. And most of what they have was researched on Ceres, like the fusion and the artificial gravity and such.

Duck, Wilson a couple things.First I am not GM, nor do i know his intention, but this is the impression I got.Our quadrant powers are very rare and extremely powerful, the Hau have to three trillion people and are an immense power. Duck your faction does not fit the bill for a quadrant power.Similarly while i am not sure they are a quadrant power the Sphere is an immense military power that defacto has been decided to own Earth, three factions have with that point in mind.So maybe ask around and real terminals history? It covers humans and Earth.

does this include me?
I dunno.
this is all confusing to me Dx

Are you using Reich Rail guns? Or some sort of Custom variant based of the Reich ones?

Their own. It'd be very expensive to ship someone else's weapons and ammunition into orbit, and there isn't any guarantee that they'd hold up in a zero-gravity environment. They're designed more with firing shots off than any real power; anything that's in space right now wouldn't be exactly armored, especially a space ship. All it'd take is one railgun round to tear through a shuttle.

Note that anyone who helps the Ceres Independence would have to be in for a long-term investment. At first, the Ceres Independence would be a put of a guzzler; they'll need more advanced electronics from Earth before they can start producing their own in their own factories, which would still be a ways away. I'm making it so that America doesn't have much of a chance of keeping the Ceres Independence with them, whoever the Americans are now. All the changes were lost on the Ceres, which is quite remote, so I must dutifully be lost with what's gone on as well. :3
Global Communication originating from the CIS New Point
"Greetings international communities, we are the Ceres Independence. For those of you who know of us, you know that we're in space, on an asteroid, with a space station in orbit. One of the largest and most advanced space stations. We come proposing a trade agreement to any who will attempt to honor and accept it. The Ceres Independence, as you may know, originated in America, where we can no longer operate safely from. Our landing pad and central groundside facilities are lacking in required resources, and have been damaged from unmentionable activities. We are currently in a state of discomfort and danger, as our only routes to the surface and back have been damaged beyond use.

We require a new partner to assist us in our supplies and in our reconstruction groundside. In return for land and a runway built with specific specifications that we can send, with adequate facilities and transportation from the facilities, we will, in turn, start trade through our more advanced technologies that we have previously reserved. Oh, and a fifteen percent discount on bulk orders of resources that we provide. We remind those of you that are listening that we have very advanced technologies, and are the only ones possessing an off-world settlement, with off-world facilities.

That is all, thank you."

Ceres Temporary Command Center
Commander Johnson leaned back in his chair overlooking the small room, with consoles on the left and right side, an extra-large screen at the very front with 4 more smaller screens arranged on either side, with the holographic display in the very middle. The display showed a view of Earth, the Moon, and far more distantly, Ceres. One of the shuttles was approaching them at high speeds [though considered very slow because of the distance], and was halfway through the route. On the shuttle was the Ceres Independence President John Walker, who has spent his entire life furthering the New Horizons Corporation, and later the Ceres Independence. Johnson was in charge of the private military they had on the asteroid, and the security of their various ships and outposts.

He traced the shuttle's projected flight path to Ceres, and its previous path from the New Point. Apparently, some group or something had raided their main landing base, and managed to force all 400 personnel to flee to the Ceres Independence's American Facility, where they would be fine for the time being with the automated defenses.

He knew that someday, they would be the great pioneers, remembered as the people who took the first steps into a new era, and that while everyone else continued squabbling, they rose.

But that was later. Right now, he was watching several civilians enter the room and approach the holodisplay. After receiving permission from Johnson, they began muttering amongst their small group around the small railing/table the surrounded the display, and began designing the new plans for Ceres, and for future ships and extensions.

He left the room to the quiet humming of enough computer power to handle anything a computer geek could possibly come up with, and headed towards the gym. The lower gravity was a little hard to get used to; while more experimental artificial gravity devices had been installed, it was still low enough to mess with anyone unused to it.
Space-based Nation Name: The Ceres Independence

Territory: Their headquarters was just finished with the first phase of its development in the asteroid Ceres, in the asteroid belt. While they do have a legitimate claim on Ceres, they also like to think that the entire asteroid belt is technically theirs, since they were there first.

Government: Through a corporation-like system. Since they were a corporation based in America, that reached up into the stars, they really just kept the same thing, except declaring their independence once they were out of range of everyone else. Generally, the better a person is, the higher up they go. They are promoted based on skill and leadership ability.

Military:They have a company of soldiers that used to be US Marines and Navy Seals. And they have a couple satellites orbiting Ceres that are armed with missiles and a railgun. A couple emplacements on either side of the central tunnel into Ceres that are also armed as railgun turrets. Other than that, none. There is a space station in orbit around Earth that acts as a transfer point between Earth and the Moon, to Ceres. The Ceres Independence station New Point is several hundred meters in diameter, and has several missile and railgun satellites in close proximity to the station, to prevent another nation knocking the station out of orbit or blowing it up.

Economy: Deep-space mining, research, technology. They are the most advanced in fuel-efficiency, using a special fusion reactor for each of their 7 ships: 3 surface-to-orbit shuttles and 4 small space-freighters that act as mining ships. They have everything needed to be in space, with thrusters and much, much less bulky spacesuits, with technology that doesn't always require oxygen or gravity to work.

History: The Ceres Independence [2030-present], which is casually referred to as the 'CI', was formerly the 'New Horizons Corporation' [2016-2030]based in Texas near the NASA facility, researching space-related stuff to go into space. The American government provided a good bit of funding before they turned into whatever else it became, and they had started building up in Ceres around 2030. Since then, shuttles have gone from great big massive things that required an ungodly amount of fuel, to ships that were only the size of an apartment building.

Other: The Ceres Independent Station [CIS] New Point is a space station in orbit around Earth with 2 small construction bays for construction of shuttles, freighters, satellites, or in the future, fighters. There is also a hangar inside the station that is used for shuttles and, in the future, fighters. The station is octagonal, and utilizes an experimental artificial gravity in the central-most rooms, which include two conference rooms, the gym, the mess hall, and a storage bay.

The Ceres Base itself is all inside the asteroid by about 200 meters. The entrance is a tunnel about 50 meters in radius, to be expanded upon later, that leads into a sort of cavern-y area that is used for storage. Around that section are temporary living spaces, messhalls, research facilities, and other important facilities dug into the rock. The tunnel itself continues deeper into the asteroid, for both mining and future expansion. Several other nearby asteroids are also being mined.

There is one ship on the moon setting up a mining camp for Helium-3, which was found in abundance in that area.

2 shuttles are used for supply runs, one is used for Earth-to-Ceres trips, and to visit or deliver items to mining groups. Freighters are used with larger equipment, and to pick up ores and other items.
Alrighty
Should I use a nation NS since it's technically a space-based nation that laid claim to Ceres, even though it's more or less a corporation?
