I'll eventually get a real bio in here.

I'm not talking of a regular bow or arrow, but of a large, strong, powerful bow. The type that fires a large arrow, for a long distance. Although, I may have exaggerated, though I still doubt that one would be simply unmoved by any arrow that is meant to kill.

And yes, a wall does push back if you push on it.
If I were to walk up to the wall I am currently facing, and put five Newtons of force into it, then there are two real things that could happen. Either, A, the wall collapses or moves under the force, or, B, the wall pushes back with the exact same amount of force to prevent it from moving. That, or the curriculum that the state of Texas teaches is entirely wrong. Or at least my part of the state of Texas.

Right, but a normal person would still be staggered by the force of the things, Marky barely flinched.

Yea, this is something that I hate about movies and books and roleplays and stuff. It doesn't matter how strong or invincible you are- you need MASS to combat FORCE. If you shoot an arrow or a crossbow bolt at stone, then the stone will not move because it pushes back with the exact same force. If the rock pushed back with more force, then it'd move forward. If it was pushed backwards, it didn't push back enough. Mass is what causes that push-back force.

So if you're some giant Titan dude thing, and you run at a wall covered in cannons, you will not continue running. Cannons -> giant humans = pistol -> human. It will hurt. And you will fall. So if you're a regular size guy, and someone takes a hammer and whacks your cheek really hard, the hammer will not stop cold. It may not do any damage, depending on what your Relic does, but it WILL move the person, and probably snap their neck to the side. You throw a spear at someone, and even if it doesn't penetrate, they will probably fall on their ass, unless it's dodged.

I also hate how people seem to percieve space. In order to move in a zero-g environment you may need one of several things:
Something to push off of
Something to throw or launch
A gas or liquid to be ejected from a container in a high-velocity stream

See, if you take a F-15 fighter, make it all space-proof with sealed stuff and special engines and stuff that allows it to fly without air or without compromising its innards, then it may just be able to fly in space. The problem is that
A) Wings and flaps have no affect where there is no air to use them on; they work by redirecting air into different directions to change the aerodynamic-y-ness of the plane so it can become more like a screw, and tilt one way or another, or more like a quarter-circle, and go up, down, left, or right. Because space has very, very little matter in it, flaps and the like would only work on a very, very massive scale, in which the weight and mass of the entire object would be so high, even in space, that it would simply be unable to change course.
B) You need some kind of thruster, jet, or valve forward, backwards, left, right, up, and down. That way you can accelerate, but because it's space, you'll just keep accelerating with the thruster on. So if you turn the thruster off, you won't continue accelerating, but you will continue on your current velocity. Using the backwards jet will counteract the newtons of force put out by the forward jets, and will slow you down.

really basic physics and stuff. 101.
If you are a giant brute wearing heavy armor, an arrow or crossbow will be like a push. If you are an average sized guy wearing chainmail or some other mediumly-heavy or light armor, it will stagger you or put you on your ass. If you are a very small person, you are going to be flat-backed. You will be in pain. That is, if it didn't kill you.
Nor me!
:D

attack me and I will wipe out all life on your ships!
One moment, alive! a couple minutes later, nothing at all!
Dark respond pl0x

Also, how is it that a BCU ship just happened to come so quickly, and how is it that the worm thingy was detected so quickly in the first place?
Me and duck aren't arguing; it's ASTA and dark, with dark saying one thing and ASTA changing it up a bit and calling it null, or somesuch.

Yeah, we do. Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Fallout, the War for Cybertron games, we make tons o good games.

Yeaa, but most of them are EA games. :c

EA is one of the most hated companies- but they practically own all the publishing and stuff for the big games, so big game companies have to go with EA, and only Indie games or small-time games can afford NOT to.

'Murica has gorgeous natural wonders! Just because we have bad things doesn't mean there aren't good things! Like how there's an area reminiscent of a tropical rain forest in Washington state. Anyway, I've edited my post finally and I believe I've got something we can all be happy with.

We are one of the major exporters in FUD, and the item that the US produces the MOST is, no, not fatness, but FUD, or more specifically, meats, & veggies and plantable growable thing. Texas is one of the major economies of the world, too.

Plus, we make shittons of video games. Therefore, the entire world's next generation will bow to our whims.

Except that Swedish Minecraft and stuff like that

Speaking of which, 'Murica doesn't, do they? They make the most crappy Indie games, and the most triple-A bigshot linear games like CoD, but nothing like Minecraft or Rust or something.
I'm in America

...

We have McDonalds

Wind farms

um...

And lots of stinky, smelly cities.

And fat people.

We win.
Planet N-1, Orbit, Battle of First Contact
The Explorer sped up, as the smaller ship approached in an attempt to ram. As the Explorer did so, it angled itself ever so slightly, in a way that would force the enemy ship to not meet the sword-like edge of the front of the ship, but rather a glancing blow. As the ship accelerated and altered direction, distance was closed- fast. Just as the other ship was upon them, firing rounds that dented and even begun penetrating the thick armor of the Explorer, the ship extended the missile turrets, and fired a salvo from each turret at what was a ludicrous range, so close there was no chance to dodge or miss the little missiles. As soon as they fired, they locked on, split, and accelerated towards the ship.

Of course, if the Explorer had the speed and maybe the latest armor, then it could just ram the enemy ship and very possibly split it in half, however, the captain didn't want to do that. Instead, he fired the missiles at the ship, and watched with interest as this ship, too, lit up with explosions detonating a small distance from its hull, as if there was a shell around the ship, that eventually faltered and allowed the missiles to get through and detonate against the hull.

Of course, shortly after and before it was completely destroyed, it hit the Explorer's hull. Ordnance and some burning slag impacted the hull, scarring and destroying a little of the armor, though the last few straggling swarm missiles actually missed the smaller ship, due to the interference from the Explorer, and hit the ship's titanium alloy armor instead, making small craters of different penetration and width. Then the next wave of plasma hit, splashing against previous plasma burns and making new ones, deepening some of the damage. In return, the first wave of Swarmer missiles closed in on the plasma ship, and the Explorer began to both close the distance with the plasma ship, and turned one of the side Swarmer turrets to begin targeting the next closest enemy ship, despite it being far out of range.

You need shields to intercept missiles.

At a distance, against missiles that aren't sublight, I'll be using point defense. Clusters, set on the armor, so that if someone DOES get close enough, they can actually destroy the anti-missile capability.

I'm worried about keeping my ships being as undamaged as possible, since I have about a dozen military ships. Other people have hundreds of ships; I have a dozen. Heavy armor keeps my ships going like tanks, and I need to keep them going. And now that the first encounter with aliens want to kill me, and even the second, then military is going to expand, and so will weapons and armor.
