I'll eventually get a real bio in here.

William popped up the moment finger touched Will, and replied, "I've either been up and at 'em for quite some time, or not at all. I have gotten a tiny sliver of memory of how I thought about my personality of some time in the past, and I shall reveal it all to you."

Doing a subconscious half-drunk-looking stance, which was an unconscious reference to Cap'n Jack Sparrow's stance, he said with emphasis, "I'm very weird, mate." He even had an accent that sounded quite close, though none would probably know it to relate it. Then he frowned, trying to remember why he had particularly liked it enough to just do it. Then he shrugged it off and went back to a normal standing position. Wiping some blood off with one sleeve, he refilled his cup, took a deep drink, and set it down.

"Now! Anrah, nice name, your hair is nice too, just unusual, you've drunk some blood, I suspect you'll be fine, but you!" He pointed to the other girl. "Angel, is it? I know a... I knew, but I can't remember it, ah, well. Anyways, Angel, if we are vampires, then you are going to die if you don't drink. This makes our clocks tick, so to speak, and I'd rather not have someone die in my presence, unless they are a horrible and vile person who wants to destroy the world." He looks around at all the occupants in the room, completely dispelling his own nervousness and anxiety by going on a roll, and continued, unhindered, interrupting any and all who tried to break in. "I don't think anyone here is a horrible and vile person who wishes to become Dr. Evil... where do I know that from..? Gah! I speak straight from the mind, say things I can't remember, so aggravating... anyways, I don't think anyone wants to take over the world, and so I don't suppose I shall call in dinosaurs to kidnap you and eat you. Angel, see, we're all very pretty. The Fates, or whoever makes the world go 'round, would hate to allow any of all our pretty faces to die, yeah? Drinking blood that was willingly shed from someone who is still alive is much better than eating a hamburger- a cow died to make that hamburger. So really, drinking this blood is much nicer and better for the world than eating a hamburger, because stuff still lives!" He raised his arms, raising his voice a little with the last part for emphasis.

Putting his arms down, he circles around his chair and walks forward, gently snatching one of the untouched cups from Mitch, and holding it out near Angel. "We all must drink. It has not poisoned me; I think clearer and faster than I ever have before. I feel alive, see, and no one died to make me feel this way. Please drink; no one here, I think, wishes you to starve."

He gave her the most charming smile he could manage, feeling fake while doing it, since he thinks his smiles just look horrible, and struggles with the unease of talking to a pretty girl. Being a bookworm, and even holding on to one so hard that he kept his book, he figured that this was natural, and forced down his unease. Increased thought told him that he was probably an outcast, and being weird was just covering his insecurity or something. Nevertheless, he would get this girl to drink, so that she will not die, if vampires are following the old, old stereotypes.
So basic stations are not considered orbital platforms, while orbital platforms are more like capital ship shipyards, large defense stations, etc.?

I decided to catch up on some sleep, judging I work at 3am every day..........but the war will continue in earnest. STARTING!!!! with that EU ship above Nouvelle, SPEC OPS RAID!!!!!

Just don't hit Nouvelle, or a Valkian ship, or you'll have a Dreadnought on you.

Other than that, they're pretty much going to ignore the EU. They don't want to be infected by their unnatural powers.

The communications team on the Explorer were thoroughly confused. It felt like something was trying to dig into their brain and tell them something, in a voice that was half foreign, and half familiar. They rubbed their heads and took some meds to try and make it go away, failing to do so. After some time, two of them just went ahead and locked themselves into a cryopod, sending them to sleep for two months, or until emergency and/or battle. The other four tried desperately to just ignore the strange sensation, and after quite some time, they sent another binary message, coded to resemble a chemical agent that, when inhaled, would confuse and disorient the inhaler. Their intent should be clear: you're confusing us.

Queen Sabine's Meeting_____________
The Valkian grew alarmed at the idea of a 'conflict,' and even more so at the 'Terran's dialogue. He sat for a moment, then asked, "I would be informed of this conflict if possible. I am not comfortable conversing with a species who may have started unnecessary military conflicts in the name of taking independence. However, before requiring an answer, I must think it fair to reveal my own people, and provide a warning." He turned to look at the Eternal Union diplomats, continuing:

"We are a race of three subspecies. There are those like myself, who would be translated into "Tinkerers." I believe the General had named me as "Lord Tinkerer," for we do not label ourselves as you three races have. My companion here is an Engineer, and my other is a Hunter. Tinkerers think, Engineers build, and Hunters guard. The term Hunters is simply a reference to a time long ago, when we had eyesight and had to fight for our lives every day. In response to any future questions about what I meant about eyesight, we do not have any. At all. We lost it during what we know as the Great War. An alien race on the closest planet took our attempts at diplomacy as an act of war. In the end, we lost the majority of our people, were driven underground, and evolved into what you see now. We later finished the war, and were able to re-colonize our planet, and theirs. After that, we expanded across the solar system so that we could properly flourish again. We would wish the same for anyone, except those who fight and battle for no reason other than to conquer or steal." With this, he turned to look back at the Terrans.

"If either of you, Terran or Eternal, start conflict and it applies to any who we consider a friend or ally, we will retaliate against as if we were personally attacked. We have caused... I think the word is mass genocide against one race for immediately starting war. We do not wish to do so with another. This is my warning, this is my call. We care not if one regrets it afterwards- anyone who attacks ourselves or our friends will be considered a permanent threat. My job was not originally to be a diplomat; I have taken it upon myself to act as both a diplomat, and a warning." Here, he looked at the Queen, and added, "My race are not able to assist you in any way but in planetary defense. I was blessed, and so I speak languages that I do not know. My companions have no idea what I say, nor what you say. They are simply here, for the time being. Personally, which includes both my companions, we do not wish to conduct close contact with the Eternal Union. We were present when they disembarked; they influenced the crowd, a mental nudge, I would think." Turning to the EU diplomats, he said very sternly, at least with his small voice, "I do not want any of your people on any of my people's ships or planets. I do not want any of you near any of mine, except unless I am present. I do not want your peoples to influence my own. My race's biology may be different enough to defend against your... unnatural powers, but I will not take unnecessary risks. Powers like that will not be allowed anywhere near our leaders, either, nor will I ever be allowed to directly contact my own leaders."

He looked the speaking representative of the Eternal Union right in the eye, intentionally turning his head and lining up his own eye with his. "Others may not realize the implications of your power. I do, and I will continue to. Step carefully, Winged Ones."

What darkwolf said, and if both/all players agree to a certain result of ANY battle regardless of size then you can skip comparing Fleet Strength. If you want to play out a story with your Ace bomber pilots wreaking havoc on somebody else and you two agree then it is full steam ahead! The purpose is to keep it away from: "lol i hop in with super ships and autohit rek u kid" so that those who play for the story have an easier time against those who... don't.

So it's kinda like Endless Space or one of those games, where you can either be lazy and hit "AUTOATTACK" where it's just pitting FS# against FS#, with whoever has more winning, versus manually taking control and giving orders and stuff.
Well, what about strategy? A smaller force can destroy a larger one with much better planning and tactics. If a small group of very fast, lightly armored ships used FTL to appear very close to a large capital ship fleet, they could fly through the formation and do nothing but dish out damage, while the enemies may scramble and end up shooting themselves, or even accidentally ramming each other.
