I am, as depicted by my OOC posts. And Wilson, Kaiden is open to interaction, as I've said the last two posts or so.

Writer's block- not a lack of things to do.
I keep meaning to post, but I'm having writers' block :c
I believe KeyGuy gave Darkwolf co-GM powers, did he not? Shortly after Duck's demotion, I believe.

If I'm right, Darkwolf can accept.
Yes, all the drama is over. At least, that round. Dunno if anything else will happen. But applying right now is considered safe.

On another note, anyone know where Abroe is off to? No doubt celebrating Christmas and the New Year, but I am curious- such developments by Duck has left the Nouvellian diplomatic conference all the more interesting, with a good bit of drama being added on with my Tinkerer getting his sight restored

And Sep, if you do start, would you mind being the first to contact me? I've not had the honor of being anyone's first contact- it would be nice to gain a foothold with somebody before anyone else, not to offend Abroe and his Nouvellians, with someone that has some kind of power and ability to assist.

Currently, the biggest populace among the 'primary' nations (those who aren't hiveminds or somesuch, whose purpose is to be part of the roleplay, and not act as an antagonist or somesuch) belongs to the the Eternal Union, with thirteen coreworlds, and multiple colonies. I don't know where everyone else stands, but the Valkians have nine coreworlds, and more planets that are close to becoming coreworlds.

Even I think you're going to need, well, a great deal more. Take a look at everyone else's apps, and the IC- even our small posts are larger than that what you might find in other roleplays. Even with your to-be-expanded biography, I think it's one of the ones that's been used too often, and is, even for the shortened version, far too short. Another thing is that a Relic is a single specific item- you mentioned a silver sword and some knife. A Relic is some kind of generic item, such as gloves, or a ring, or even maybe a belt. It'd be very unusual for it to be an actual weapon.

And your appearance needs expanding, as well as... well, most everything. The roleplay needs more interaction- being unsocialable isn't an option, according to Ellri [One of the GMs] some time before now, since we need more interaction.

In addition, well, your Relic doesn't seem to have very many negative affects. It gives him wings, the ability of flight, sharp teeth, and superfast reflexes... and... what's the minus? What balances it out? Why does he have wings? Make some more connections. Your skills will also need to coincide with your current setting- if you're working for a mercenary guild, then you will know how to fight and hunt, much less general education. And again, being antisocial isn't an option- we need the characters to mix. And most all of the characters in the roleplay are unknown to anyone- we're all ghosts, on the edge of society. The only important NPCs you could be trying to assassinate are the higher ones, such as the Prince-turned-King.

You may just want to start over, if at all. We have higher standards here- not to say you're not good, but if you're more the level from The Last of Us, then I suggest not roleplaying here. We're more wordy and picky.
Congratulations, you too are being an asshole without a real reason to be.

A planet is a ball, yes, a ball, a giant sphere of crap thrown together, so giant that it has gravity/ Yes, magnetic fields, too, are given off by this giant sphere of crap, but you see, it's a giant fucking sphere, and that means "up" is really only relative to where you are- if you're in space, up may be the planet, up may be from the planet to the sun, that direction, it may be away from the planet, especially if you're on it, so you see, "up" is really very relative when it comes to planets- unless we are fighting still in 2-D, which both makes it harder to attack people, tremendously limits the worlds and systems that we can expand to, and makes it far easier to defend, then "Up", and therefore, "above" is really very strictly relative with something that any directions are so extremely relative that you literally can't use them.

No, I understand relative to a ship, when it's close by, or relative to a station or somesuch. But a planet is a giant round ball- there is no spot that is the top of the world, and the bottom of the world. Saying that something is directly above a planet is just saying it's in orbit, and that's about it. If you have one station, it'll be fine, since that's the only one around, but if Duck has many stations, as one might know based on his dozens of defense stations at the Colony of New Condia, then that's about as accurate as, again, saying there's a book in the library.

I'm not saying make actual coordinates- I was just suggesting that one just says "Sending the coordinates" instead of "Directly above that planet over there." I was suggesting using the word 'coordinates', and simply explained why one might want to use them over using relative 2-D directions for everything. And if one liked the idea of 4-D coordinates, then they could say, here's a list of fourth dimensional coordinates, do not stray or you'll be taken for hostile.

And if we were going with generic 'anime' style combat, then we'd have regular fighter jets that turn into robots and beat the crap out of each other in space and on the ground. And use weapons that are about as realistically effective as a rubber sword against a real one.
@Everyone

Don't use directions such as "directly above" or "to the left of." This is SPACE- what is your up could be someone else's down or left. Two fleets could meet, and one might be thinking of the planet as "directly below them", while the other will be thinking it of as "directly in front of them." Saying a station is right above a planet- that's like saying it's in orbit. And obviously, you only have one station in orbit if you expect them to know which one you're talking about. Now I'm not trying to pick on you Duck- I just now really noticed it.

Directions such as those are EXTREMELY relative in space- giving directions like left-right, up-down, etc., is like saying something is in space. DON'T- you're in space. Left and rights work in 2-D warfare or maps. If you're playing C&C, or Banished, or some other game, then sure, those are viable options- North, South, East, and West. It's a 2-D plane- there's a definite up and down. But we're in SPACE- a 3-D plane that extends in every direction possible so far that we could fly for a thousand years, and never reach the edge. Saying "directly above a planet" is about as accurate as saying the sandwich is in the kitchen... where there's a party ongoing and everyone has sandwiches. Which sandwich? Is it the one farthest to the North-Eastern corner? Is it the one closest to the roof? The one on the floor?

You can continue roleplaying as if everything is 2-D ((I know; it's hard to think of the universe as 3-D, since we've been 2-D all our life)), but just know that I'll act as if you were speaking 2-D, in 3-D space... so my Valkians will tell you to either bugger off and stop trying to insult them, or give you actual coordinates. Space won't be navigated by north, east, west, or south, it'll be navigated by coordinates, perhaps being relative your homeworld, your homeworld's sun, or the Galactic Center.

Just something to think about in your future posts.

Also, if I remember right, 4-dimensional coordinates could be used for coordinated military movements. For example, giving the x, y, and z are just the first three digits of four- they give the coordinates of the spot. The fourth digit, the, let's say, T, is for "Time." So giving a 4, 6, 8, 100, may mean to the spot that is +four lightyears to the Galactic-North/South, +six lightyears to the Galactic-West/East, and +eight lightyears to the Galactic-Up/Down, and then the 100 may mean in 100 AS, or 100 After-Space (When you get into space as a spacefaring power). If you were in, say, 99 AS, and told multiple ships to be at certain coordinates at a certain time, then you'd have everyone in position at a precise point, in which you can beam communications, using a closed-circuit type that can only be communicated by if it actually hits a received, to your allies without giving yourself away.

Just a thought.
Nouvelle
The fleet watched as the rest of the Eternal Union ships moved out and away. They chased them out of their warp, they retook the space they had once occupied it, and swept the orbit of the planet as well as they could, ensuring that there were no surprises left behind by the Eternal Union. They received the unknown message, but put it off while it was translated, and they continued sweeping the space, all but a Varren, Explorer, and the two civilian ships moving to sweep the orbit. When the fleet regrouped, they took the proper time to review the message, and completely decipher it as best as they could.

After some time, a reply was sent to the "Lorca," containing the following:
"We are the Valk Nation, our people known as the Valkians. We are of three subspecies, known as what would be transliterated to "Engineer," "Tinkerer," and "Hunter." Our Engineers build, our Tinkerers think, and our Hunters protect. We have multiple special ships, classed "Super-Dreadnoughts," named Explorers. You will see two of these in orbit of the moon, Nouvelle, in orbit around the unnamed gas giant. The moon Nouvelle, populated by red-spectrum-colored hominids, and its star system is under Valkian protection. Any attempts for military operations within said space will be a diplomatic incident. If you would like to send an emissary or diplomat, please do so under maximum active sensors- make no attempt at secrecy. We have just had major incidents involving a native town being the site of a battle between a race with similar, positive, interests like our own, against a people who are powerful and unreasonable. Know them as the Eternal Union, and their people as Iscandarians."

"Come forward now, and reveal yourselves. Should anyone attack you, we will assist you in fighting off your assailants- it would not be right to do anything else. Vice versa- if you attack anyone, we will be your enemies, and you will have declared war. With such warnings out of way, would you like to have diplomatic meetings? Our race is eager for new friends and allies. May the ground quake at your passing."

As they did so, more in response to another message, they simply kept their distance.

Shortly afterwards, a message was beamed to the Terrans:
"Fellow protectors of Nouvelle, we are, as your diplomat have told you, the Valkians. Our apologies for being so withdrawn before- we were unsure of our place. Now, though, we know we are to be the protectors of Nouvelle and its star system. If you would like for our two fleets to share data to better cover this system, we would be very much obliged. Our people look forward to talking peace with yours. Refrain from military operations while in-system- to do so would be to severely hinder diplomatic arrangements and would be considered an evil and a wrong against ourselves and the Nouvellians. Our diplomat has a number of items he would like to discuss with you, as well, if you would like to relay the message to your own. May the ground quake at your passing."

Then another, to the two other entities that have been detected in some form or another (Sazkarjhia and Septonian), message was broadcasted:
"Attention foreign entities- we respectfully welcome your people to Nouvelle, on behalf of those who we are now protecting, the inhabitants of Nouvelle. Please note that any military operation or hostile action within this star system will be taken as a diplomatic incident, and firing against Nouvellian or Valkian units will result in the assumption that war is declared. Refrain from any military activities- the peace shall be kept here from now on. To fire against anyone will be met with grave consequences."

Communications between Salraun & various asteroid shipyard keepers
[i]
-"Messages and queries have been received, Yardkeepers of Asteroid-satellites 13 through 35. This is Salraun, Councilmember. Know that we need new prototypes of the new Droneship built as soon as possible- special parts as seen in the schematics have already begun production on planets C and D. Purchase the parts labelled on the schematics- otherwise, you won't have the right ones. Produce thirty droneships each, I know this is a great amount, and will take a few years to complete, but if you each get one out by the time we have the Victor Festival on the homeworld, you'll be granted a large bonus, in addition to my boosts to your funds. Understood?"
-"Received, Salraun Councilmember, this is Yardkeeper of A-S 33. Do we need to produce the drones themselves?"
-"Agreeing with, Yardkeeper of A-S 33, this is Yardkeeper of A-S 20. I agree with the question- must we produce the drones?"
-"Negative to the question, Yardkeepers of A-S 33 and 20, this is Salvaun Councilmember. Drones will be produced across multiple planets and A-Ses independently, and will be shipped to your completed droneships after they are flight-tested. Any more requests?"
-"Received, Salraun Councilmember, this is Yardkeeper of A-S 24. May we have more supplies in return for our support for you, and for the production of these droneships? My biodomes are becoming crowded."
-"Affirmative, Yardkeeper of A-S 24, this is Salraun Councilmember. Additional supplies will be sent both as provisions and for extended hydroponics. In addition, another sect of A-Ses have produced multiple colony ships- request volunteers for colonization mission to neighboring systems. You may tell them that two planets in the Nouvellian system will be colonized, in addition to an estimated dozen planets in neighboring systems. Colonization efforts will be sent out based on the progress of our new droneship fleets."
-"Received, Salraun Councilmember, this is Yardkeeper A-S 24. Are other overcrowded A-Ses or planets allowed to participate in the colonization selection process?"
-"Affirmative, but restricted to a select few, Yardkeeper A-S 24, this is Salraun Councilmember. Multiple planets and A-Ses have been selected, and yours will now be added to the list. Currently, no more must be added- predictions estimate that we might have too many volunteers otherwise. Any more requests, questions, or implorations?"
-"After waiting, Salraun Councilmember has decided to close communications. Three needed in favor, please speak now."
-"Agreed, this is Yardkeeper A-S 24."
-"Agreed, this is Yardkeeper A-S 13."
-"Agreed, this is Yardkeeper A-S 33."
-"Communications closed due to lack of further required discussion and no objections. Salraun Councilmember signing out."
