Aye, I'd agree with numero tres
Wouldn't be as much of a 'bombardment of death.' You'd have to be in range of both surface-to-orbit weapons and the defense satellites in order to take down the defense satellites and a dronefleet in the planet's orbit- and yet doing so will mean heavy damage to you. Stying well away and launching masses of projectiles from railguns will make you use up ammunition, energy, and supplies, while both defense satellites, the fleet, and the planet's surface defenses will be able to pick off all the dangerous shots. After all, they can just pick off the ones that would hit something important, and leave the vast majority alone. Not only that, but what's to stop the Draconians from making a shield? A planet could have generators that would produce far more energy than a fleet could. They could keep it up to block projectiles raining down on important targets, and let the rest hit the ground- no harm would be done. Defense satellites and ships would have plenty of time to move out of the way of enemy rounds, as well. And if they were firing so fast that they couldn't be avoided, then you'd be doing what's essentially nuclear-warheads in every bullet from a rifle. Too high velocity would be making it extremely powerful, OP-level powerful. Lasers and other weapons like that can only go so far before the energy sputters out- energy weapons can't be used quite as distantly flexible as kinetic weapons. Rebuttals, anyone?
> Wilson > Remove the unmatched parts(just say really hard to defeat) and no dark matter/energy weapons. There aren't any dark matter weapons. Theoretically, dark matter weapons are impossible to make, simply because dark matter is simply the term given to unknown matter. Research into dark matter won't provide weapons, it'll provide greater understanding of space, of matter, of everything. And Asta, when Draconians are entrenched on the ground, they do set up surface-to-orbit weaponry. Where others primarily defend themselves by using fleets, the Draconians instead focused on a much lesser used type. Droppods or dropships would be shot out of the sky, while any ship to come into an orbit low enough to fire accurately on Draconian positions would receive heavy bombardment. Not to mention that orbit-to-surface weapons have much more time to be shot out of the sky or simply rendered inert. Duck's Iscandarians have unmatched shields- Valkians have unmatched armor- and in this galaxy, the Draconians are the infantry and armor masters- their fleets are vulnerable unless they're in orbit around a captured world. Did I put anywhere that their primary ship are both cargo and droneships? I'll have to edit that in- droneships could drag amd asteroid in orbit, and then just produce hundreds of low-orbit defense satellites.
I'm going to have to agree with duck. It wasn't too long ago that you only had a single, unfinished FTL-capable ship. Suddenly, at New Condia, that number jumped to 600 with less than a third of the industrial power of the Valkians- and now it's 2000. I thought we were going with more realistic numbers here- and yet in the time it takes the Valkians, with a dozen well established planets and dozens of asteroid shipyards, to manufacture one batch of ships, you've manufactured three or four batches three or four times larger than my own? Because in that case,I should be able to have a fleet comparable to anyone else. I do, I think, have a much better industrial setup than everyone else. I say that because all my planets are being mined, with factories on them, with numerous stations in orbit, and with dozens of asteroids that will have even more resources, also being mined. I have, logically, the best footing in industry and production- and yet the Terrans, crafted and written to be inherently smaller and weaker from the get-go, has had fleets that far surpasses anything I could currently summon, even if I were producing cheap weak ships- which I kinda am.
You're a balanced military-centric nation. I'm a ground military-centric nation. Your fleet will beat my fleet without very much trouble. You may take damage and lose a portion, but my fleets wouldn't be nearly as powerful.
I'd like to take the water dragon, if that'd be alright. Got any idea for the map?
I think if I can't think of anything else for my next post in the next couple days, I'm gonna have to do so too. :/ I'm just not having any inspiration for anything, at all.
HEY , Duck , Review my app, please?
Vala'Keer *moody huff* Get it right. I was honestly unsure what to do, and I can't have him go into a fit of rage, throw her against a tree and break her back, then toss her in the water and let her drown.
> > I'm lazy and I have four math assignments, two english assignments, a chemistry assignment, and a minecraft fort due. > > Pfft, I should be studying. > > I'm typing this IN MY MATH CLASS. > > Roleplaying is always more important than anything else, ever. Always remember that. holy [censored], I'm typing this in math class too! And I agree completely. I'm focusing on my english development- me and my English teacher have a 'connection', as we both say, and I'm only in Ready-Writing for UIL, and I rank roleplaying above all. lawl.
