Lol it's funny because I'm in the Navy and I'm stationed at the Air Force base where their basic training is at. I honestly think I should have joined the Air Force. They PT way more than we did in navy boot camp. And they have it way easier.
That was lengthy haha. Sorry, I didn't mean to bore you, but I try to give as much advice as I can to help out. Remember, the military also pays for you to go to school. I met a chief, I think (it was a while back), and he has his doctorate, two masters and a bachelors degree. All done while serving in the military.
I honestly reccomend going to college first. That way, like you said, you have something to fall back on. Not only that but the more college credits, the higher the rank you'll get when you go in. I only have an associates degree in science but I went in as an E-3, which is great because I'll be an E-4 in September which is a petty officer third class in the navy. My friend joined right out of high school and it's been three years since then and she's BARELY making E-4. Plus if you decide to get your bachelors, you can go to officer candidate school instead of coming in as enlisted and then transitioning to officer. You could be a captain or commander within ten years of being in. (I'm using the Navy's ranks of course since that's what I'm in. I don't know the other ranks haha.)
It's alright. I've had a crazy schedule too. There's a ton of new graduates from boot camp coming in so I've been running around like crazy.
"I'm Derek." Derek gave them a small half smile and gestured towards Jade. "This is Jade. We were on a summer trip with a group of our friends from back at home." Derek frowned as he said it, Jade had turned around back towards the group with tears streaming down her face. "I'm hoping some made it out." She wiped the tears away and sighed. "I'm probably going to go scout the beach for more people." Derek gave Jade a small pat on her shoulder before waving at the group. "I'll be back. If there's people out there that need any type of medical attention, I can at least try to help them." Jade nodded and watched Derek walk away. "He's going to school to be a doctor... It's kind of weird that we'd be the only ones out of our group to end up surviving. We barely even talked before."
"You're kidding me.... Right?" Jade glared at the door as she heard whoever was on the other side whine about a cup. "Is this dude high?" She stood up and walked towards the door, sending a jet stream of water flying at it, making the doors fly open. She didn't care if it hit people on the other side, nor if Carolyn didn't approve. "Take the damn food and be greatful she even gave you any!" She enclosed the guy, who she now saw was Jacob, in a bubble of dark magic along with the food. "Go away." Before the boy could respond, she sent him flying down the hall. It surprised her slightly, since she had been keeping her anger under control, but after what had happened today, she didn't care anymore.
It doesn't matter to me, I'm cool with anything.
Hey guys, unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out of the RP. I'm going to be busy as hell the next few weeks since we're expecting a large number of sailors coming into the barracks and after that I'm going to be moving again. Terribly sorry. I was excited to be in this rp. Best of luck!
I updated what Derek looks like. I know it took me forever but it's been a hell of a week. And i also posted. It's not much but it should keep the ball rolling!
"What was that?" Derek glanced up at Jade as a scream pierced the air. "I don't know..." Jade helped Derek up. "You should be good now. You'll probably have an annoying headache, but it's better for you to stay awake. It's best whenever you have a concussion." They both dusted the sand off and began walking over to where the scream came from. "Look! We're not the only ones!" Jade half gasped as she ran over, Derek continuing to walk. "Is everyone okay here...... Are there any broken bones or puncture wounds?" Her voice trailed off as she saw another girl throwing who looked pale and pretty banged up compared to herself. "Don't let her go to sleep. At least not within the next two hours." Jade observed the girl before looking at the guy. "Both of you don't look too bad. Pretty banged up, but nothing too serious, hopefully." Derek walked up behind Jade and awkwardly waved at everyone. "Um. Hey. I'm glad to see there's more survivors." He looked around and got a glimpse of others not too far from where the small group was. Jade turned to where Derek was looking and sighed of relief. It didn't change the fact that others had died, but at least they wouldn't be alone. At least one of the few people here would know what they were doing. "I can't believe this just happened." A surge of panic and fear hit Jade but she kept her composure, not wanting to freak anyone out.
