Mithias closes the portal behind them and walks out onto the familiar dark ice of Talredor. Alice, Ozzy, Raven, and Eruka, Bug, and Lisa... Then Guldo flops out onto the ice at the last moment. The vampire heaves an irritated sigh at Guldo, but at least Raven had to jar of gems for the moment. He walked past the demon, deciding not to try to cut its head off, and approached Alice. "Wait. I may hve jsut taken a few hits to the head, but we're not going to find Bob out here. I do know where he would be." Mithias gives a knowing look to Bug, et al. Bob would be at his coffee lounge.
Name: Mithias Aldaric Varomere
Age: 740
Age appears to be: 26
Species: Vampire

Mithias has quite long black straight hair, nearly white skin, and vivid yellow eyes.

Bio/History/Backstory: The short, short version...

Was a Templar knight as a human, just as the Inquisition happened. He asked to be turned to save his family. He hunted vampires and werewolves as he felt necessary to protect his human lineage, but then one day started the former Solider organization with the quixotic goal of peacekeeping between humans and supernaturals. It eventually failed and the vampires as a collective started an all-out war with the humans. Mithais had stopped following his familial descendents once they spread out to far and vast in number, but he never quite lost his appreciation for humankind.

Faction/Side/Alignment/Goals: Mithias is currently sided with the vampires, but of course, it's practically a free-for-all out there.

Personality: Mithias is honestly peace-loving, but he is not a pacifist. He has accepted the harsh reality of constant conflict with humans and believes that there is no solution to it. Vampires exist for some as of yet undiscovered divine purpose and should strive to live up to their roles. They must not be exterminated until tht purpose is realized.

Powers: Fortunately turned by very high blood, Mithias has two gifts. He has the gift of perfect mental sovereignty, ie. his mind can not be read or influenced by other supernaturals. Second, he has a moderate level of pyrokinesis, which is a first for his bloodline.

Weapons: Usually dual katanas, but also proficient in guns, bows, the whip, short blades, and a technical level of understanding of explosives and chemicals.

Skills: Driving, flying, riding, stealth, trap-setting, combat in general, chemistry, computers, interrogation, violin.

You know, don't hate me, but I'm inviting a bunch of people to a clean, new thread. We'll basically continue the story, but this time it will be about survival and less domination. It would be great if you would copy-paste your CS there.

If you ever wanted to be part of the epic saga, it's a good time to awaken.

The new thread is up. Details are there. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/84618-blood-compact-vampire-genocide/ooc

You can ask me questions here or in the OC.

Blood Compact: Vampire Genocide

Blood Compact takes place in the modern/near future world where there are supernaturals such as vampires and werewolves. It has a history over the course of several other threads, but you don't need to delve into the archives to join in. I'll give you the basics you need right here.

Vampires:

-can daywalk
-have super strength and speed and super healing. These get better with age and high heritage and may vary in strength by bloodline.
-Different bloodlines have different power themes, but individuals can vary in how they use their supernatural gifts.
-can be killed by burning, beheading, tearing their heart out, or disintegrating their body by blowing them up or melting them in acid, etc. Impaling a vampire through the heart will knock it unconscious... forever, or until the impaling instrument is removed. Blood loss can weaken them to the point they pass out.
-are often, depending on bloodline, harmed by holy/silver. No particular religious affiliation.
-are technically "dead" and can't get pregnant. If you want to make a "half-vampire" you're gonna need some kind of unique backstory, but I'd allow it.
-may or may not look human.
-blood drinking is necessary, and you will lose your mind to bloodthirst if you hold out.
-often don't get along with each other and may often be insane.

Werewolves:

-generally live in packs in extreme climates, ie. Canada, Russia, the Arctic, etc.
-have a culture of "survival of the fittest." Kinda tribal.
-can change form whenever.
-are alive and need to breathe, eat, sleep.
-have supreme strength and endurance, even more than vampires of comparable age/breeding.
-have enhanced healing.
-are generally sane but often quite feral.
-killed by excessive physical damage, but are also unable to heal when touched by silver, silver continuously burns.
-generally dislike humans and vampires. Vampires are dicks.

Hybrid vampire/WW's:

-It has happened.
-must have some kind of weird experiment/ritual/unique genetics backstory.
-generally the most badass type of supernatural.

Humans:

-there's a lot of them.
-can be highly motivated and work together
-have amazing technology
-might be trained warrior/soldier/cyborgs/ninjas, etc.
-can be changed into a supernatural.
-could have some kind of psychic inclination.

The world:

In this thread, the vampires got together worldwide to try to dominate and suppress all humanity... and they failed horribly. That was some ten years ago, and now, vampires are not well liked. The werewolves retreated back to their native lands and basically flipped the vampires the bird for trying to drag them into their egotistical and avaricious war. Vampire numbers have drastically dwindled and they are now basically in hiding, trying to survive and recover in secret.

Humans have banded together and begun to actually prosper. Huge international organizations such as the Purge are very popular. Purge paladins and hunters are seen as heroes. The former peace-keeping organization known as Soldier, has fallen, yet it does have many members in secret who believe supernaturals should not be utterly vanquished. Soldier is not a big hit in the community and often gets slandered alongside vampire-worshiping cults.

Vampires are trying to pretend to be dead. Humans are trying to finish them off. Some vampires are helping them. Maybe this plague will finally end. Do things really ever change?

Other info:

Dracula:
-is dead.
-a lot of present day vampires are his progeny.

Most the rp will take place in the USA, not focused on any particular city.

Turning:
-Werewolves bite, victim must be strong enough to survive.
-Vampires usually bloodshare, but some might be able to turn with biting.
-nobody can resurrect or turn the already dead.

Drinking vampire blood can be addicting and can confer powers and memories, but it will often enthrall a mortal drinker. Some vampire blood may be toxic or confer madness, careful what bloodline.

The entire UK is secretly ruled by vampires working behind the scenes, but the humans think it's a "vampire-free" country.

Make a CS. You can ask me anything. I try to ask that you make your powers vaguely "believable" ie. no "magic." any psychic manipulations are generally ok, telekinesis, mind reading, you can emphasize strength/speed/agility/etc to be far greater than other supernaturals, you can shapeshift, etc. but don't go crazy.

This seems a little sudden. You can talk about it first if you are really not happy. It doesn't have to be a dramatic departure.

As Mithias held the portal open, he spied across the flames of hell the jar that Guldo now guarded. He looked intensely at Raven and gave the slightest, most secretive nod.
Days went by, and for an immortal, it was almost no time at all. The world was almost unrecognizable, save for the fact that no matter what happened to it, the world was always a strange place to a vampire. The comforts of the past would never again be known to them, and war and trauma were their only familiar friends.

His vampire forces had been scattered. Bedivere hadn't showed up since Kilo Point. Mohowauuk was nowhere to be seen, nor was Magnus. The human, Martin, was reportedly dead much to Mithias' regret. The fledgling Ashilyn had also vanished, but a few of her progeny were still among the more powerful fledglings yet clinging to sovereignty. The only being Mithias had been able to keep in tough with was Hank, and he would be the only one that would know of Mithias' ridiculous and semi-desperate plan.

A great battle had occurred in Oklahoma city, where ranks of vampires had been decimated by the heroic and increasingly popular Purge and their crippled sidekick Soldier. Word had it that this was a prime recruiting ground for the human resistance, the perfect place for a stake out. As much as Mithias hated it, it was time to play theater.

In broad daylight, in Oklahoma City, a human with olive skin and long dark hair rode in on a motorcycle. He wore a long leather jacket, jeans, boots, and a faded t-shirt with the words "In God we trust" on the front. He looked Latino, or maybe half Asian because of his hair, and he was fit and broad shouldered like a military boy. The bike had a few guns, nothing expensive, and a locked black metal case.

No police pulled him over to check his tags as he pulled up to the church meeting place. He parked his bike with a look through his dark brown contact lenses at the surrounding humans that informed them of the consequences of stealing his shit. The few outside gave him a welcoming nod. Today was the day of a scheduled, semi-secret mass meeting, according to a flyer he had gotten a hold of only several days ago. Mithias approached the church and noted the Purge symbol spray painted on the side of the building. Approaching, two large door men non-chalantly step in his way. "Hail brother." They say.

"Hail brother." The vampire replies, his small silver cross apparent over his shirt.

The two pad him down for weapons, then wave him by. Mithias got in. he really didn't need weapons anyway. Now it was time to learn first hand what in hell these humans were smoking. By posing as a potential recruit, modern makeup hiding his skin's true color, Mithias would be able to see what went on underground that kept the Purge supplied with soldiers.

He went inside, the aura of the church doing nothing to him, thankfully. Images of Jesus and the divine hero Kaminokage adorned the back wall. A set of stairs spiraled downward into a large, lighted atrium. The ceiling arched up in back to an open window, where the sunlight streamed down dramatically to the center stage. People were gathered around. priest swung an incense burner around the stage and another occasionally flicked the audience with water. Mithias would make sure to stay out of his reach. An orator stopped up, beginning an inspiring sermon, if you could call it that, which incited many unified "Amen's" from the gathering.

"Who among you has not sinned? Who among you has not suffered? All who give their life in worship shall be forgiven! It it God who has plagued you with the vampires. You must believe in him! God will grant you the strength... Show your worth and fight!" On he went. men, women, and even the young looked up and cheered, lifting their hands, partaking in the ritual. Yet of course some where more reluctant. The sermon seemed to be harsh, demanding, cut and dry, and certainly terrifying to a vampire.

Throughout the spectacle, Mithias kept a watchful eye. Something was mesmerizing these humans, yet he did not see any drugs being passed out. No needles, no gas, no pills being passed around. Was it sheer inspiration that was making them so insane? Simple fanaticism? Not even in the days of the Templar did Mithias see such universally extreme self sacrifice. Mithias couldn't detect anything by air, yet it was like they all had a chip in their heads. he pulled up his hood and stood in a row of men in the back.

Then the surprise came. A vampire, weak and wounded, was brought in, tied to a post that was erected on the stage. The speaker went on about the devil and his children and pressed a cross against the poor bastard, letting all behold the dramatic burn. He was spat on, cursed, forced to endure the sunlight, and people one after another came up to the stage to burn him with their holy icons. They'd burn him alive, right here, this day.

"...you must begin your training now. To turn your back is to accept death and eternal hell. His grand holiness, the Pope himself, will come to bless you..."

Now that was an interesting piece of information. This "Pope" must have been a very important leader.

Out of the corner of his eye, Mithias caught a man trying to leave. Two bouncers in shiny shoulderplates got in his way and pointed him back inside. Certainly that wasn't the wise way out. Mithias could probably blur past them, but he didn't have his answers yet. he needed to know where this goddamned leader was.

As the vampire suffered, Mithias narrowed his eyes. He was going to have to watch him die.
Mithias staggers a bit, healing, but subdued. "I will come with you Alice. I won't get in your way." He re-summoned his soul sword and cut open another portal. "To where Bob was last seen."
