Love that video. Now i need to lookup that anime.
A chill run up Mithias's spine as he immediately became aware of the presence behind him in the cave. Mithias could never understand how Gabriel did some of things he did, like manifest out of thin air inside a more-or-less sealed cave. But now he was trapped in here with his certainly adversarial master. He turned around, subconsciously pressing his back against the boulder fearfully, with Magnus on the other side. Mithias' numerous sins against his maker weighed heavy on his heart. For so many centuries, Mithais had hated him, been trying to kill him, and had killed many vampires in cold blood along the way. Surely Gabriel knew that he had also just attempted to kill Magnus, yet failed. Was it time to pay the piper?

Once again, death didn't follow, and instead Gabriel spoke to both of them. Mithias relaxed somewhat, but for the first time, seemed contrite. Ammends would be made, but now was not the time. Mithias did not speak of it. Instead, he behaved somewhat unexpectedly, more like an ally, and addressed the current issue. His tone was respectful. "Thank you for your warning, father." Mithias mostly assumed Gabriel had intended to warn Magnus, and only happened to find Mithias here as well. "In falling back, we would live, but the fact remains, this Jack, the scientist I believe I know of, still must be stopped."
I was a big fan of "Wraith," btw.

Wiz, you ever listen to Epica? It sounds up your ally.
Oh, and I'm so excited for my new brother.
*listens to Wiz's epic music*

*claps*
Mithias blinked, filled with sudden realization. "Lambda..." he said. "They changed her against her will? No!" Mithias punched the rock and gritted his teeth. He didn't want to believe it, but everything Magnus was saying was making sense. SOLDIER did consist of a vast majority of humans, and Mithias knew no vampires served on the main council. Why would their goal not be to exterminate vampires from the world? His dream may have been a delusion all along. "Balance is impossible." He muttered. "Perhaps it IS time for the tides to change. Magnus, free me from this cave. I can get us closer to those in charge in SOLDIER. More innocent lives can be spared."
Mithias was surprised to hear Magnus' voice outside the cave. He thought he had been left buried behind this rock to wait alone for some indeterminate time, if not forever. Instead, Magnus was... guarding him? His brow furrowed slightly as he put a hand against the rock, leaning against it lightly to listen. Mithias kept silent as Magnus covered SOLDIER, heart removal, and the dangers of drinking from vampires. It was almost a parental lecture. How strange a concept that the savage and brutal renegade, Magnus, could show sincere concern for him. It was completely unexpected. It was almost... touching.

Mithias sighed heavily at the mention of blood. The thirst was upon him like a dull ache. There was no satisfying it behind his boulder. He closed his eyes and pressed both hands against the stone, longing to be free, wanting to reach through it, but he didn't try to move it, yet. "Magnus." He spoke softly, knowing he could be heard. "We cannot allow all vampires to be destroyed." On that, at least, they agreed. "I will fight against SOLDIER, if that has become their true intent." Mithias rested a moment. He sounded tired. "Every time we lose an elder, our species weakens. It was never my wish to kill you, only to maintain balance. The mercy you have shown me, speaks volumes to your sincerity. I will consider your words and investigate, but I need you to cease your slaughter of innocents." He continued, "I cannot swear my allegiance to you, for it belongs to another, to whom it is long overdue..." Mithias pressed his forehead against the stone, reaching out with his mind to search for any other vampires nearby. He sensed nothing. "I will keep my heart within me, but I will heed your warning about drinking vampire blood." Damnit. Now he was thirsty again.

"Don't let yourself get cornered, Magnus."
sorry, i'll work on a post, but I'm also helping a friend with relationship issues tonight.

I enjoy super emo posts that question the identify of "good" and "evil."
