Lucien chuckled slightly. "Yes, I can't really deny that. The aging of the supernatural is a fickle thing." He said, golden eyes shifting to the array of cards within the advertisement. He picked up the King of Hearts again, and placed it next to the flyer.

"I wouldn't consider this that strange. I mean.. if you were going to choose cards to place on an advertisement, you wouldn't choose something like the three of spades right? One would go with the cards that hold the most value in the game, or the most notable at the very least. It would be more eye-catching to the audience." He commented. These were the kinds of things Lucien had to learn when he first created this circus, considering they also had to make advertisements of their own. Knowing what people liked and what would be more likely to catch their attention was important in this kind of business.

"Still.. I assume he gave us these cards for a reason. Symbolism perhaps. Or he's simply playing a little game. It seems like the kind of person who would do such a thing." Considering he was a ringleader of the circus, the King was a card that could fit with his position, even though Lucien himself didn't view himself that way.

Father Cyril glanced toward the entrance of the kitchen. "If you don't mind the couch, I'm afraid that's all I have to offer." He said, pausing for a moment. "There's a few things that could use some storing.. The boxes are quite heavy. I'm afraid our backs can't really handle that kind of weight anymore." He said, chuckling a little sheepishly.

Lucien felt his shoulders relax as Faolan accepted Father Cyril's offer. His smile returned to him, and he began to eat his food at a more normal pace now that he didn't have those thoughts to worry about. Even if it wasn't long, he'd be sticking around a little longer. Who knows.. maybe he'd like it here? Hearing them talk about work made the boy curious. Now that he was here, would he be allowed to do those things?

"Hey.. Father Cyril.. is that something I will be able to do as well...? Work?" He asked a little hopefully. The priest seemed to clearly hesitate in answering his question. Perhaps he should have waited to be alone to ask him but, he couldn't help it. Part of him hoped that being away from home meant he'd have a little more freedom, after all he was much older now.

"I'm.. not sure if that's a good idea, but you did just get here. Maybe when you adjust a little more.. we can talk more about it." He responded. Lucien grew a little dejected, but he didn't argue, considering he knew the reasoning behind it. He'd have to bring it up later when they were alone.

"Ah, by the way, the docks is always looking for people to help out, so I would recommend asking there if you're looking for something less permanent." The priest suggested as he turned his attention back to Faolan.
Akane nodded in agreement. "I am too!" She responded, her smile widening. "Oh I know about that! Lucien told me about it when I was showing him what he could do! People consider all sorts of weird things to be magic. The foxfire I have can totally be considered magic in a way! It's a super diverse thing! So I'm kind of curious to know what kind of special stuff this Geralt can do." She said.

It had been really interesting when she had seen the kinds of things the others could do when she first got here. She had been even happier to find out that her abilities could be of use in a place like this, and especially if it was possible to make people smile with them. It was something she had never really been able to do before, considering she couldn't really interact with humans much as a normal fox.

"You know, I think your beautiful singing voice can't be described as anything else but magical. I can't help but feel at ease when I hear it!" There had been plenty of times where she had asked Cora if she could sing so she had something to dance to when music wasn't available. It was one of the times she'd have the most fun with her.
Illyana was probably right. It was likely Geralt already knew about her, or at least suspected a psychic was involved. Part of him thought it was a good thing he was already familiar with gifted people, mostly because it would make his adjustment to the circus much easier. Then again, he shouldn't really have been surprised, considering his reaction to seeing Ivory's ability at work.

"I agree, it's probably for the best." He preferred things that way. After all he didn't want to put Illyana at risk. There was nothing more worrisome for him to see how she got when she was overwhelmed by her visions. As she pulled out the piece of paper, he leaned over to get a better look at it, raising his eyebrows slightly.

"Six, Six, Six huh.. What a dark sense of humor he has." He commented, before picking up the flyer to get a better look. Now that he thought about it.. there was that thing he had said about his name that he never got to respond to.. not that he had wanted to anyway. Still, it wasn't like he could have given him a proper answer even if he had, considering he never got to meet either of his parents. He shook off the thought, and shifted his attention back to the flyer. It was dated around fifty years ago, just that fact was more than enough to prove this man wasn't human. Not that he had needed anymore evidence at this point. Perhaps he really was a warlock then. "He hasn't aged a bit. He looks exactly the same, arrogant smirk and all." He said before setting it down.

"Well, at the very least it doesn't seem like we will have to be giving him much of an explanation in regards to the supernatural world. That saves us a bit of trouble." He said, attempting to look at the bright side of things.
Lucien nodded in agreement. "I think I get what you mean. It does have a bit of a French feel but.. I also see things I normally wouldn't see back in France, it's a little refreshing, but at the same time comforting because it doesn't feel like I've been thrown into a completely different place." He said. It was that sense of familiarity that allowed him to feel a little less out of place, but he could still tell he was definitely not in France anymore, and he really looked forward to being able to see more of this place.

At Faolan's next comment, he glanced over in the direction the priest had disappeared off to. It was only because Faolan had pointed it out that he was just barely able to make out the smell of fish. It had certainly been a strong smell back at the boat, considering they had been at the open sea.

"You really do have a good nose." He told him with a small chuckle.

It was then that Father Cyril came back into the room. "Dinner's served." He said, motioning them over to his dining room. Had they not been cramped into a small room for the majority of this journey, Lucien would have found it strange to see how small things were in comparison to Faolan's size. The man was certainly tall. He wondered if he would be able to become tall like that one day. The nephilim could only hope. Once they were seated to eat, Lucien began to contemplate. After dinner was over.. would Faolan leave? He knew the man wanted to look for some work before he left the city but.. where would he stay? He was a little worried about him, but there was also the fact that he thought it would be nice if he would get to see him around more before he actually decided to leave. Honestly, Lucien wasn't really ready to say goodbye. Had he gotten a little attached? Maybe. It wasn't everyday he got to make a new friend.. and even more so a friend who knew something was off about him but decided not to question it. That fact was what made him trust Faolan a lot more than the average person.

"Lucien? Do you not like the food?" Father Cyril's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He had been so invested in them that he had stopped eating.

"Oh, no I do! I was just lost in thought, my apologies. It's very delicious, thank you." He said as he continued to eat again. It was after a little while of this that he decided to speak up again, but this time in French.

"Father Cyril.. my friend said he was going to try to look for work here for a little while before he moved on to the next town.. do you think it would be possible for him to stay here in the meantime? Back at the ship.. he really did help me a lot. I felt I would not have made it here unexposed if it weren't for him.." He muttered. Part of him felt rude for asking in French even though he knew Faolan couldn't fully understand, but he also hadn't wanted to offer without checking with Father Cyril first, after all, this was his home, and Lucien was also a guest here.

Father Cyril raised his eyebrows slightly at the question, before giving Faolan a small glance. The priest hadn't really known how to feel about the man, considering he was a bit.. intimidating, but he couldn't really deny him if he had really helped the boy out to that extent. He knew how worried the head priest had been about sending Lucien off to travel on his own.

"Faolan, Lucien tells me you are going to be staying here a little while for work. If you don't have anywhere else to stay, I would gladly let you stay here. My home isn't all that large but.. if you don't mind it, feel free to stay until it's time for you to go." He offered. Lucien was relieved to hear Father Cyril offer, but he didn't glance up to look at Faolan. He wasn't sure if he had overstepped again in asking this without consulting him first but.. he didn't see the harm in it. After all, he could deny it if he really didn't want to, he just.. hoped he wouldn't.

Akane lead Cora across the clearing to her trailer. She paused upon arriving, and entered her trailer to grab the plank she kept there to help roll the mermaid's chair up into it. If she was going to be there a while, she figured she'd let her keep her chair around. That, and she didn't want to risk dropping her in an attempt to carry her inside. It was in these situations she wished she was as strong as Ivory was.

The kitsune set down the plank before she rolled Cora inside, closing the door behind her. "Make yourself at home!" She exclaimed. Akane's trailer for the most part was pretty well kept. The outside of her trailer was a light blue, a similar color to her fox-fire. Throughout it there were some patterns and petals of cherry blossoms, flowers that reminded her of home. The inside was neat, with a few Japanese paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling that she was ecstatic to have been able to get her hands on. She had a small desk, and on top of it lay the fox mask she wore for her performances.

"So, what do you think of all this? Are you excited to meet someone new? It's not everyday we get a new member." Akane asked curiously, wanting to know how the mermaid felt about it. Despite all the warnings, she couldn't help but be excited. Part of her hoped that all this had been an overreaction, and everything was really going to be okay, but she supposed she'd have to see.
Lucien certainly hoped that would be the case. A busy night was exactly what they needed. It seemed that Illyana had been in deep thought, considering the way she responded to his question. At least it appeared the vision wasn't bad, or she would have already told him.

At her question, he glanced back at the card. "I'm not sure when it ended up there, in all honesty, I simply noticed it when I was changing last night, but I would assume that's what happened." He paused. To an extent, he supposed he did have a chance to get close enough, considering his very.. approximate handshake.

"...He did with me, but not Ivory. She kept a relatively good distance from him, so I don't think he would have had a chance. " He thought back to the little trick he had done. "Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he did make them appear out of nowhere. We did get to see a bit of his magic at work. They aren't simple tricks, I can assure you the magic is real. It makes me a little curious to know what else it is that he can do but, he doesn't seem to be the type of man who'd give me a straight answer." He muttered with a small sigh. Lucien figured he would just have to wait and see.

"Ah.. by the way.. he did ask how we found him. Honestly.. I wasn't expecting to find Geralt the Great living in a small little apartment that would normally be very hard to find if not for your directions. I didn't tell him how, of course, but I don't think it would be too hard for him to figure it out once he meets you and see's what you do.. I just figured I should warn you ahead of time. I know the man unsettles you.. If it makes you feel safer, stick to me or Ivory. I've already talked to her about keeping an eye out for the others as well." He wanted to make sure Illyanna knew that she could come to him for anything, however small. He was not planning to disregard her feelings on this situation in the least, and hoped to do his best to make her feel better about it.

Lucien shook his head. "No no, it's quite alright. I said everything I needed to say. They could use some time to relax before they have to begin getting ready for their shows. Hopefully, that will be the last morning meeting we'll have to have in a while." He said. If everything ended up going well, there would be no need to hold any others. He tried to avoid concerning anyone as much as he could, and never really called them unless it was absolutely necesary. Sometimes he preferred to talk to some people individually. It was easier to state their opinions in those circumstances.

The nephilim's eyes drifted toward the window. He had already sent some carnies to take to the streets of the city to do some advertising. There were a few minor changes he had added so some people could be more encouraged to come even though it was a second visit, he could only hope it was enough. Until Geralt showed up, he couldn't really advertise him as a part of the act. He had to know what the magician would want to do first. With that thought in mind, his gaze went back to Illy.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, not wanting to be blunt in asking what it was she saw. After all it was more important for him to know whether it had been anything alarming or just a normal vision.
Lucien's smile widened at Faolan's acceptance as they continued on their way. Father Cyril had been a bit taken aback by his response, but it seemed he was also having a bit of a hard time understanding him. Faolan had a very thick Irish accent after all. Still, he said nothing and continued along the streets. Lucien was sure to take in all of the sights, this city was very.. colorful. He hoped that if he was going to stay here he'd get more of a chance to see it all. It would be a shame to have to say indoors all the time when there were so many things to see. He'd be sure to bring it up to the priest later.

Eventually they came to pass what appeared to be a church. It was certainly much smaller than what Lucien was used to. After all the churches back in France were.. quite large. The one he stayed at was one of the smaller ones but, in comparison this one was not nearly as big. It was certainly more modest. They walked past the church and stepped onto the grounds, which lead to a smaller area which seemed to hold the priest's home. Lucien eyed everything with a glint of curiosity in his eyes. Things really were quite different here.

"Please, do come in." Father Cyril said as he motioned for them to come inside and leading them to the small living room. "I'll go serve dinner, I'll be back momentarily, please, make yourself at home." He said before he disappeared off down the hall. Lucien took a seat on the couch, but he appeared a little restless. He had wanted to keep exploring, but he didn't want to be rude. He'd simply have to be patient.

"This city is so.. colorful, and very lively." He commented to Faolan.
It seemed that the calming sound of Cora's singing had managed to calm Illyana a bit, for which Lucien was relieved, he stepped back to give her some space, before glancing at the others.

"Perhaps it's best if I call this meeting, to give Illyana some time to recuperate. I did not have much else to add. While.. it might be a lot to ask, I was hoping to ask you three--" He motioned to Aurel, Akane, and Ivory. "--To attempt to use a different routine from the last time we came to Graston, to give the people something new. It's fine if you don't, but I know some of you practice more than one." He said.

"I think.. I could probably manage it.." Aurel said, the kitsune quickly nodded in agreement.

"Yes! I've got a couple others to try, so no worries!" She exclaimed.

Ivory's gaze drifted from Illyana to Lucien, and she simply nodded. This wasn't a problem for her, she always had more than one up her sleeve. Honestly right now she was more concerned about Illyana, but she knew that Lucien also wanted privacy so she could ask Illy what she had seen. While she too wanted to know, she decided she'd just ask her on her own later.

"Oh oh, Cora! You should come hang out at my trailer! You can give me your opinion on one of the new dances I came up with! It will help us pass the time till our new arrival gets here!" Akane exclaimed, already heading for the door. "Feel better Illy!" She called out. Ivory walked up to Cora to pick the mermaid up, giving Illy a small nod before she took the mermaid back outside to her chair. Akane was quick to begin to push her toward her trailer. Aurel briefly glanced at Lucien and then Illyana, before he too bid his farewells and left the trailer to head back to his own.

Once everyone had gone, Lucien closed the door to his trailer and then headed to his desk, picking up the card from the floor and placing it on top of it before he took a seat on the edge. "Sorry to rush everyone out, I just figured it would be better this way." He said.
