I've been feeling like something is a little off for me lately, and for some reason, I thought that maybe a few 1x1s might be good for inspiration. I'm a little busy this time of year, so I'm only looking for maybe three at the moment, and the amount of writing necessary per post is only based on whether you can move the story along or reveal important character traits through your post. So, probably no one-line replies, but I'm definitely not looking for a straight seven-paragraph wall of text. That might overwhelm me, actually...
I'll try to do similarly in my own posts, as I usually attempt to mirror partners or go with whatever I can get from previously introduced information. I don't mind if it takes a little while to reply, but please drop me a sign if you are going to be gone for a while or at least let me know that you're going to be busy if you're not sure how often that you'll be able to post. Please don't just leave me! The guild has made me just a tad insecure regarding being abandoned by roleplayers...
Seriously, though, you have any other trouble or just don't want to continue for whatever reason, just say so. I won't get mad, I just want to know who to wait for and if I should open up spots for other people who may be interested. Life happens, it's fine. I'll do my best to do the same for you.
Okay, so here are a few base rules before we get started, then we can move on to a few ideas I have right now if you find them reasonable for your style.
If you have read all the rules, please just type a random cake flavor in italics somewhere in your message. I know it's probably weird, but I have had people try to blatantly ignore some of the more important rules no matter how many times I've said them and I'd like to avoid that problem early on this time.
1. I am over 18, however, I am not really comfortable with sexual scenes. Sorry, that's just how I am; no smut for me. I also can't take too much gore detail - I know, I'm lame, but I tend to actually feel what I'm reading after a certain amount of detail and I don't want to end up curled up on the floor for an entire night instead of replying to you. Insinuations, suggestions, and some slight gore, I can probably deal with. If you're unsure, just ask and I'll let you know if it's too much for me to handle.
2. Please let me know what you can and can't do as well! I want my partners to be comfortable whenever possible, and I can't read minds over the internet (yet).
3. Please no rape. I'm finding this to be too much of a trigger right now, and I'd rather be replying to you than having a near panic attack for an hour or more. Definitely don't joke about it. Just no.
4. If you take control of my characters for any reason without blatant consent, we might have a problem. I will be following the same rule.
5. I like romance, and I'm even hoping for some, but please don't try to force it. I prefer to have things work a bit naturally, even if it is intended from the start. Additionally, romance will never be the entire plot; I like to have other things going on to keep life interesting. I feel like romance is better when it arises as part of another situation anyway.
6. Reasonable spelling and grammar, please. Nobody's perfect, and I won't get upset over errors here and there for either, but just remember that I can't reply if I can't understand what you're trying to say. No txt speak unless it become relevant, either.
7. Feel free to talk to me about random stuff outside of the roleplay as well. I like it when I can just chill with people that I write with.
8. I do use a lot of anime-style pictures for characters. I even draw like that whenever I do draw them myself. I don't mind if you don't, just please be aware that I will.
9. I will let you know if anything else comes up that should probably be taken into account. Things change, and if we run into problems, I'd like to try to fix them when possible.

I'm generally okay with playing different genders and gender pairings, so just ask if there's a specific one you want. I'm not too picky.
The land has been threatened by the great entity known as the Demon King for quite some time, and humanity has been living in fear, hoping for the day when they would be liberated. Finally, the hero of prophecy has arisen, and through many trials, eventually became strong enough to challenge the terrible evil. Making their way through the realm of demons all the way up to the palace, the hero has the chance to confront the beast at last!
...Only to find the throne occupied by a weak, sickly, and rather scared young man. Who apparently has been secretly watching the hero from afar for a long time?
Is this really the great threat that humanity must be saved from?

I'm going to meet with them today. I've already arranged for it. You see, among my ancestors, it has always been a custom when they found themselves attracted to someone to capture them for their own. The way we are, it has always been difficult to even think of romancing someone, so it had become one of the few ways they could think of to change things.
Despite this, I have resolved never to do such a thing. It has just never seemed like a good idea if you want to win someone over. I've held myself to this even after I found someone that I really liked.
I've wanted to speak with them for a long time, to get the chance to get to know each other. I can't just watch forever, that has its own problems. It's just as weird.
And yet, for all this time, I've been too scared to attempt it. So many things could go wrong: I'm from a line of infamous sorcerers and they're... kind of royalty. Typical Fairy Tale stuff, I know. Like the story of that girl and the monster or something...
But anyway, I've decided that I can't just watch anymore! Even if there's a chance that it might go badly, I have to try! Once and for all, I have to prove that these things can be done differently.
Basically, a more comedic take on the whole trope of a dark sorcerer stealing a princess/prince/other royal figure for whatever reason. In this case, it's because they like them, and how could kidnapping a love interest possibly go wrong, right?
Well, in this case, the sorcerer has actually considered this and decided that such a plan is a terrible way to get people to like you. Which leads to a lot of self-questioning when their original plan backfires and they end up kidnapping their interest anyway. But the question remains: Is there a way to still make this work? And what kinds of consequences will come up because of this? It's unlikely that said royalty is just going to forgive this transgression, and even less likely that the people who support them will, either.
...Or will they? That's all up to you, of course, as it is to find out the truth behind this awkward dark sorcerer and their methods.
Again, either role can be any gender. Just let me know your preference.
No actual plot yet, but I have a sudden craving for something like this. Airships, AU tech, and probably a little magic. If I don't come up with something soon, I'm totally open to suggestions.
Maybe a sky piratexroyalty or sky piratexwinged person type of thing would be cool... I'll type more as ideas develop.

I actually got this intro from somebody's story that I read a while back, but I thought that the concept would be really fun to play out. I claim no credit for the original idea, but I will be changing a lot of details for this RP, especially as the story goes on.
Once, despite the numerous warnings received from their parents and even the family friend who watched over them at times, a very young angel fell to earth after playing a little too close to a hole in the clouds. Scared and desperate to get back home, but with no knowledge of how to do so, the angel made a deal with a demon who happened to be in the area to return to where they had fallen from. Unfortunately, neither of the two knew at the that such a thing was a crime with horrible consequences for the angel. Stripped of all memory and power as an angel, they were forced to live as a human on earth for the rest of their now-mortal life.
Years have passed, but it seems that neither the guilt-burdened demon nor the regret-filled, still angelic former babysitter can seem to leave them alone.
Hearing the announcement, Acht felt relieved to finally have something to go off of. This sounded like some kind of bee pun...was there a hybrid that attracted bees or something? Now she just had to find the right kind of buzzing...
"...Oi! Could some of you top-notch scientists please fix your computer cooling systems? I'm ashamed to know some of you right now!"
Grumbling to itself, the redhead moved back down the wall, using its suction cup on the the vertical surfaces and even the floor once it got to it in an attempt to compare the various whirring, hums, and other vibrations. A lot of this was likely machinery, but there had to be something at least a little different somewhere...
The day seemed to start pretty normally. Or at least, as normally as it could for the dark-haired man. He had been lucky enough to avoid any nightmares the night before, so he actually woke up pretty well-rested. After finishing getting ready for the day and checking the assignments due, he made his way to the shop where he worked, tablet in his bag as usual. Entering the shop, he made his way to the back as usual, overhearing the chatter of the other few employees there as he clocked in.
"Did you hear about the bank robbery?" "The guy who took it down was kinda cool!" "I thought he was kinda dorky, actually." "Points for the cartoon references, though. Popeye was my favorite when I was younger." "I heard it was some kid." "Eh? No way! I was told he was totally hot!"
The conversation was intriguing, and made him wonder a bit. Other superheroes? He had heard about them around, but he still had yet to actually meet one. Then again, what normal citizen often got that chance?
...On the other hand, he wasn't exactly normal himself, was he? It might be interesting to meet another at some point. Maybe their paths would cross someday, he hoped.
Abilities: Sensory manipulation. Basically, illusions using both sight and sound. Occasionally, he can incorporate smell, but it is very difficult. He still has a bit of trouble controlling his ability, and often sends himself into waking nightmares and trances as a result. Others around him may be affected negatively during the waking nightmares, but he always receives the worst of it when he loses control. His eyes always change to black with white irises when he's losing control.
Appearance:
Bio: Kyo lived a fairly happy life with his parents and two brothers until the age of ten, when they died in a car accident. After living for a year and a half with an aunt who didn’t want him and treated him terribly, he was abandoned and left to fend for himself for two years. He lived in an empty house after being abandoned, and because of his overacting powers, the house was rumored to be haunted. He still has some trouble controlling his powers, though he improved somewhat over the two years he lived alone.
Kyo still keeps a bell his mother gave him before the accident, and he wears it on his right wrist at all times, except when he sleeps, usually.
Kind of a shy, timid person. He deeply cares for others, but is often scared to get to know them. Nevertheless, he is willing to fight for people he cares about should they ever be in danger, and is always willing to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on or even sweets that he probably baked as the result of a near panic attack.

He hates centipedes so much, he actually cries at the sight of them. This ends up being quite embarrassing for him, so he often locks himself in his room for hours afterward out of shame. He also tends to start baking obsessively when he is stressed for some reason.
Name: Kyo Alavondai Age: 22 Power: Sensory Manipulation - Illusion based ability, but it works on more senses than just sight. It takes extra energy to affect other senses (especially multiple senses), however, and when it backfires, he always gets the worst of it. This ability has caused him to suffer from waking nightmares on a regular basis in the past.
Appearance:
Bio: Kyo used to live a fairly normal life happily with his family as a child, despite the fact that even then, he suffered greatly from oddly frequent and intense nightmares. This problem only became worse after his parents and siblings were killed in an accident, leaving him to go live with an aunt of his. Due to several factors, one of them being her extreme dislike for the child, she was never a good caretaker, and actually treated him quite terribly up until the point when she finally abandoned him only a little over a year after taking him in.
Part of the reason he may have been abandoned may have been because of the way his ability was manifesting itself while in the care of his aunt, as her treatment of him seemed to add to the problem. Eventually, he was helped and given a chance at something close to a normal life for a while, but still has had to work hard to keep his abilities in check.
He became a superhero because he didn't want anyone to suffer through his nightmares as a reality. Currently, he's finishing online college courses and works in a costume shop. He's the artist for a webcomic on the side, however.
