He didn't like the idea of riding in a strange vehicle like this, but he had no choice and he wanted to partake in the punishing of criminals, it usually meant he had someone to feed on and it has been a week since Vladimir has fed. A vampire could only go two weeks without feeding before they would helpless from not drinking enough blood, which would usually result in slipping into a healing coma. So this mission did get him slightly excited for the chance to feed

He was use to flying thanks to his transformations but he has yet to fly in something like airplane or spaceship, and he would prefer to not have to.

I would like to point out that there is a difference between knowledge and practical experience. like for example Goku is a moron when it comes to being intellectual, hell he didn't even know what girls were when he first met Bulma, but he is a genius when it comes fighting, Vladimir doesn't know as much as the others but he can adapt and understand what the effects of situation can be. It's really just a question of whether or not knowledge or practicality matter most when it comes to leadership. But I don't mind if Kane becomes leader

He then heard Superboy speak to them and a flash of red as a beam of heat blasted the wall. Vladimir wasn't really expecting that and acting on instinct he unsheathed his sword and gripped it tightly in case a fight broke out.

He hasn't actually said anything that would hint at him being a complete jerk, I still say a leader has to be level headed and know what he is doing.
