So I've opened up some recruitment threads, gonna see if we can get some new people in here :) Or...you guys are more than welcome to start thinking up second character possibilities :) We could really use some new/more characters :)

Welcome everyone! As you can see, this is a recruitment thread for my roleplay for Once Upon a Time. Once Upon a Time is a TV show that is on it's fourth season now starting this fall which I am exceptionally excited about;especially since they are bringing in characters from Frozen. However, the most remarkable thing about this roleplay is that you don't even have to know anything about the show to be able to participate!



The premise of the show itself is putting common fairy tale characters that we grew up knowing the stories of and putting them all in our modern day world. Of course there is lots of plots and deep story-writing that went into why and how this can work, but let's get into those details a bit later shall we?

Can you think of a storybook/fairytale character? Right now, go ahead and think of one. Got one? Good, now make a CS for them, and MAKE THEM YOUR OWN! If you want Cinderella, I don't want a CS that takes the Disney version word for word, I want some dark twists in their back stories here and there, or elaborate planning of another character that isn't even in their story. I will post a few examples of what I'm talking about below to help you understand what I mean.

Example One: Red Riding Hood

Name: Red

Appearance:

Age: 26

Affiliation: Good

Magic Capabilities: Has the ability to turn into a wolf which she has been able to master controlling as of late.

Weapons: Red carries around a couple hidden daggers within her boots and belt. She also uses a bow and arrows (favorably) and has been known to wield dual blades.

Strengths: Tracking, hunting, survival, natural instincts, heightened senses. Whenever Red is in the forest, she will never perish as the forest is like home to her. Her keen sense of smell and sight also make it easier to track down either people or potential food.

Weaknesses: Red often times reverts back to her past when she was unable to control the wolf inside of her and often times blames herself for things she couldn’t control. She is also very sensitive when it comes to her granny and will do whatever it takes to protect her. As a wolf, the only known thing to be able to hurt her is a silver dagger.

Relationships:
Granny, who she has spent her entire life with and was raised by.
Snow White, arguably her best friend.
Anita, her mother who is since deceased.

Brief Bio: Red was a very little girl when she lost her father and two brothers to the Wolf and has since been raised by her own Granny. Many, many years later, Red and Snow were out to find the wolf to put an end to all the death during Wolfstime, however what they found nearly broke Red's heart. A set of footprints in the snow that led to Red's window led Snow and Red to believe that Red's boyfriend, Peter, was the wolf. Snow White, however, had other matters she had to attend to but Red decided that she needed to stay with Peter and help him; what if he didn't know he was a wolf? She let Snow go and found Peter, telling him of her findings on the wolf who had been terrorizing the village. Believing that he really was the wolf, he chained himself up to a tree so that when he transformed, he couldn’t hurt anyone. Red stayed with him the entire night, however it came to be that it was Red who was the wolf, and since Peter was chained up, he became a snack for Red as she was unable to control (or even remember) her wolf part.

Red didn't even realize what had happened until her Granny came just as it was too late with Red's red cloak and draped it over the wolf, which instantly transformed Red back into her human self. Overly distraught by killing her love, Red fled into the forest, unable to bring herself to return home where she and Peter had shared so many memories. It wasn't until a few days later, still hiding out in the forest, where she heard of Snow White's death, and blames herself. If she would have gone with Snow, then The Evil Queen Regina wouldn't have killed her, and Peter wouldn't be dead. Red went to visit Snow's resting place once, however she stayed by her best friend's lifeless side for days. She didn't acknowledge the dwarfs who were there, only staring blankly at her best friend and feeling the guilt of the two deaths wash over her time and time again. She decided to leave Snow's resting place and let herself become victim to the forest; she wouldn't even put up a fight. However, in her wandering, Red came across her mother who she believed to be dead, however she was also a wolf and in hiding with a whole pack of werewolves. Red stayed with her new-found mother and taught Red how to control (and remember) being the wolf when she transformed. One day, a lost little boy happened upon their den and Red's mother wanted the boy immediately killed since he knew where their den was located. Red, however, couldn't allow this to happen and in a struggle to help save the boy, Red killed her own mother.

Red returned the little boy to his village, but she kept on going...deeper and deeper into the forest to once again find a reason to live. Anything at all. Lest, she will let the forest consume her.

Example Two: Cheshire Cat

Name: Cheshire Cat (Birth name - Unknown), Alias: Alexandre Frost. Referred to as the 'Dark of Heartness' in some circles.

(Note: The Cat is especially large for a regular household cat, being about the size of a bobcat by comparison)

Wardrobe Style: While in his human form, the Cat's taste and style in clothing is both subdued yet elegant. His typical apparel consists of a frock coat of varying material/color with a matching waistcoat and cravat/bow tie and a dress shirt/frilled shirt underneath, with matching trousers and leather shoes.

Age: 28

Affiliation: Chaotic Neutral

Magic Capabilities: The Cat is a true magical being, being able to use a myriad of magical powers. He is capable of teleporting at will, either instantly or part by part. He can float through the air aimlessly without need for gravity. He can make himself invisible, and speak while in cat form.

Weapons: None

Strengths: Sharp-witted, resourceful, cat-like reflexes, agility, and senses, tracking, and cunning

Weaknesses: Cowardice, stubbornness, craven, inner turmoil that clouds judgement, aloofness that distances potential allies.

Relationships: -A strong hatred of the Queen of Hearts, whom he considers his worst enemy
-Has a begrudging relationship with Rumpelstiltskin, who he also dislikes intensely
-Had a very deep, loving bond with his now-deceased sister, Alice, who's memory haunts him deeply
-Appears to be attracted to Dr. Jekyll in some way, though if the attraction is merely physical or genuine remains to be seen
-Was once a close friend of Snow White, secretly held deep feelings for her
-Has an amicable, if not slightly rocky relationship with the Mad Hatter, who he trusts reasonably well by his own standards. Though aloof enough to not consider the Hatter his 'friend', they both can come to rely on each other in most serious situations.
-The Cat's real worst enemy, whom he despises the most is himself. The Cat hates his own cowardice and underlying nature, but is otherwise forced by instinct to hide or even betray others to defend himself. This nature became more pronounced after the death of his sister.

The general consensus states that the Cat used to be a commonplace wizard, yet gifted in the art of Illusion who enjoyed using his magic for fun and recreation rather than serious study. Little is known of the events that subsequently led to his transformation into the Cheshire Cat. Yet it is said he wears the key around his neck as a sign of loss, or a memento of something from his past life.

Now, a little bit about the actual roleplay. As it's creator, I wanted to be able to allow ANYONE to be able to join in, whether you know anything about the show or not. I'm not taking the route the show took; yes I'm using a few plot devices but things have definitely already changed.

A few cannon characters are involved yes, I myself am playing Rumpelstiltskin, Red Riding Hood and Regina...all three of them being from the show but we also have the Cheshire Cat, Night, Dr. Jekyll/Hyde too, and they have nothing to do with the show, nor did they know much about it when they first joined but I have been able to keep them involved as main characters even, and mold the story around their characters instead of the main characters in the actual show.

I'm recruiting because we once started out with 14 different characters, and those numbers have substantially deminished due to player inactivity. I'm looking for players who can stay involved, or at least stay in touch if you are unable to post for a while. All I ask is that you keep me informed with what is going on.

As far as our story goes so far, (if you are familiar with the show) our characters have JUST undergone the curse and woke up in Storybrooke with their memories completely wiped of who they were in the enchanted forest, all except Regina who is the one who cast the curse. (If you haven't seen the show, there is an extensive explanation of what is going on in the OP which I will link below).

This is a PERFECT time for you to bring in your characters. With everyone going on about Storybrooke (the real world) without any knowledge that they are fairy tale characters, we can start up new relationships, friendships and rivalries, and once the curse breaks (and we all know it will) then you shall have your chance at bringing out their fairy-tale counterpart.

I know this all seems a bit confusing, but I urge you to read through the IC posts to get a slight grasp of whats going on; or if you don't want to do that much reading, I can always direct you to Netflix, the first two seasons are on there, and the third is on Hulu if you REALLY get hooked :)

Jesus Christ I'm away on vacation for a couple of days and shit gets thrown down! lol

Sorry about my absence guys, like I said, been visiting family and junk and I haven't had a fucking moment to myself. Things should be slowing down starting Sunday when most of my family returns back to their home in Cali, however I'm staying in Oregon and won't be returning for another 2 weeks but I should have plenty of time during then to get some posts up. I'll get to work on a Deon one and hopefully have it for you guys Sunday, maybe even Saturday if all goes well :)

(High Casual) Incarceron: A Sci-Fi Intergalactic Imprisonment!

Hey guys, sorry for my brief absence. I drove two states away to my home state to visit some family for a few weeks and honestly haven't had time to sit down let along get onto RPG. I'm still here lol, and things should start slowing down for me Sunday (when the majority of my family leaves to go back to their own homes).

Leotamer...I have a character like that, was used for a superhero RP. I learned REALLY quick that I had to find the right balance to keep my character in check, and not go on a power-hungry rampage lol. Why don't you come up with a CS and I'll take a look at it from there?

Sorry guys, being on vacation made me A LOT busier than I thought :/

As soon as Deserae stepped inside, she knew she was in the right place. Not that it was up for debate beforehand, but the lights immediately shutting down only to be brought back up with the colored strobe-light effect combined with the screams and cheers of the audience...it wasn't hard to guess what kind of place this was.

Trying to adjust her eyes to the new lighting, Deserae pushed herself past the throng of people who, for some unknown reason, liked to gather by the entrance. Maybe they just liked everyone muttering 'assholes' under their breaths as they passed by, or perhaps they really were just moronic. Either way, Deserae finally pushed through and got her first good look around the bar.

There was a voice behind her, however it wasn't until Cotton was practically done speaking that she had realized that he was talking to her. She felt like a moron, turning to face him and just blinking while she looked at his face with her mouth slightly agape, trying to process what she had been hearing before she realized he was talking to her. Something about a gun? Was he talking about the gun that Ryker gave him? She had no idea, but to keep from looking like even more of an idiot than she felt in her ridiculous outfit, she simply nodded.

"Right, um..."

"I'll be close, but not too close. By the way, do you know anyone else here who is a L-… who is one of us? I'd like to know so I can find them and keep them in the loop. My eyes will be on you the entire time so don't feel unsafe."

Oh thank God, he didn't refer back to what he had been saying beforehand. This time, she made sure to pay attention, practically hanging on every word he spoke as if trying to compensate for last time.

Another Lost One? Deserae took the moment to quickly glance around, but the darkness of the area and the ever-changing lights made it almost impossible to see anything here, however she did spot a young man practically impersonating the Flash as he zig-zagged through the crowd, dragging around another young guy. Deserae closed her eyes and sighed, gesturing vaguely towards the pair.

"Minato. I met him this morning, he's new and kind of...all over the place. Be gentle with him, I don't think even half of what I said to him this morning stuck."

Deserae inwardly bit her lower lip, realizing the irony of her own statement since she hadn't caught all of what Cotton had said to her. But that was different...right?

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Before you, in this very ring, stand two of our toughest competitors; Spike and Darth D!"

Deserae clapped her hands to her ears, because the very second the announcer finished the warm introductions, the crowd burst out into deafening levels, but even then she could hear the announcer booming over the crowd. They must have turned up the mic volume.

"There's still time to place your bets, just see the tiny little man in the corner!"

That's what Deserae needed to hear. Putting her hands back down, she looked back over to Cotton and nodded, indicating that their plan was in action and headed over to the man in the leather jacket where a few last-minute betters were heading, unable to help herself in trying to adjust the dress as she went. God she missed her jeans.

It took a few minutes, since there were some people in front of her, but she eventually got to the bookie, inwardly cursing Ryker for setting her up for this.

"Hey there..." She said softly to him, a lot softer than she had expected even and took a split second to clear her throat. "So, I'm new in town, looking for a good time..." She paused to bite her lower lip in a fashion that she hoped looked somewhat seductive; either that, or she had already ruined this entire thing by looking like she was constipated. "...perhaps, perhaps you can help me out? I've, uh, I've got cash, more of it than I know what to do with, any tips on who I should put it on?"
