Backstory:
Born into a very poor family as the youngest, Kallian looked up to her brother with a high regard as he was the provider of the family, even at a young age. Because her brother was always out providing for the family, Kallian got the ‘luxuries’ of being able to go to school to learn and socialize. However as Kallian grew older and got a better understanding of just what sort of sacrifices her brother was making for their small family, she took up thievery and would steal loafs of bread from bakeries or an occasional sausage link. She had to learn how to sneak and be quiet very quickly, adapting to being light and quick on her feet. She was then given the satisfaction that she was able to help out her family as well by keeping them fed when her brother couldn’t.
Then the war started, Kallian was off on a school trip when everything went to hell. Now, dragging herself back to her hometown, she has no idea what to expect as far as what remains of her hometown, or her family. Along the way of her traveling back home on foot, she made a home-made dagger by sharpening a flat stone and bound it with twine to a sturdy stick handle. It has proven deadly on a number of occasions as Kallian has had to kill dying animals for food.

Born into a very poor family as the oldest, Deon was forced to start working at a very young age, therefore not able to experience much of any kind of child-hood. He had only his mother and younger sister for family; he had never once met his father getting the rather illustrious nickname ‘bastard child.’ At first he was just a messenger boy, delivering secret messages to organization members that were more than a bit sketchy. The pay was poor and he was lucky if he didn’t get beaten by his boss on a daily basis, even if he delivered on time. As Deon grew up, however, he left the job as a messenger boy and started fighting in the ring and getting paid for it. He found that fighting others was something he enjoyed, even if a bit too much.
Now known somewhat famously throughout the city, he earned a comfortable amount of money to provide for both his mamma and sister, but that was before the war started. Now with the image of his mother torn to shreds under the shrapnel of the structure that was once their home, Deon has become quite vengeful and won't stop at anything to see whoever was responsible dead. And now...with his his sister missing; gone on a trip with her school, he has a new mission. Find Kallian.
