The character I had in mind would be using a form of "cobbled together" magic that, as I said combines magic with tech and whale oil. Something created after the Calamity, using scraps from the old world, but mostly good ol' fashioned tribal ingenuity and creativity. She'll also be an insufferable know it all who's a little too proud of her own limited knowledge.

Clothing Style: Saffron enjoys a casual state of dress with typically bright colours. When in her beacon uniform she wears the blazer and vest open, eschewing the girl's ribbon in favor of the boy's tie. She also wears a pair of bike shorts under her skirt. She also wears a set of aviator goggles on her head at all times, pulling them down over her eyes when she flies. On the back of jacket of her combat outfit is the Lumenaire Family Crest, coloured yellow.

Wax Wings: Despite the name, Saffron's wings are not made of wax but of a Dust tempered alloy that makes them hard as steel but light as feathers. Each "feather" is in fact a razor sharp blade and in the center, between the wings, is a small booster that is fuelled by Dust. With these wings, Icara is capable of high speed flight, the razor feathers make them deadly weapons in close combat, and their sturdiness make for an effective defence. When not in use the wings fold back and retract into a compact metal backpack.

Semblance

Solar Flare: Saffron is constantly absorbing and storing solar energy in her body and she is able to focus that energy into a destructive beam that she fires from the palm of her hand. This ability is naturally stronger when she is in direct sunlight.

Dust: Saffron uses as combination of Fire and Wind Dust to power Wax Wings.

Skills: Saffron has no fear of heights, infact she craves them. She's also a bit of a gear head with a good understanding of general mechanics and a particular comprehension of aeronautical engineering

Background: Saffron Lumenaire's great grandfather made his name as the father of modern air travel, designing the first modern airships, which are still in use today. Lumen Air Industries, based in Mistral, has devoted their time, since it was founded, to developing newer, faster and more streamlined kinds of personal air travel, for both the civil and military sectors. As the second daughter of the current president of Lumen Air Industries, Saffron lived in her older sister's shadow. The company would ultimately fall to her older sister, so all the time and attention went to her. Saffron's sister was the star child, while Saffron's own potential, which she believed to be greater than her sister's, went more or less ignored.

She didn't want to live in her sister's shadow any more and wanted to be more than just another Lumenaire, so she set out to make a name for herself as a Huntress. Saffron joined Sanctum Academy and, at the tender age of thirteen, perfected the design of her own weapon, a personal flight pack that she had actually been secretly working on since she was old enough to hold a wrench. She did well at Sanctum and, after graduating, was applied to Beacon in Vale, mostly to put some distance between her and her family, and was accepted.

Character Theme: Loosely inspired by the tale of Icarus, from Greek Mythology. Saffron's Wings and her Pride in her talents are taken from the Icarus Myth, as is her association with the Sun, which became the basis for her Semblance.

Other: Jaune is the best.
