My power is out. The website for the power company says it won't be restored until 11:30pm. If that's true, there will probably be no IC replies today.

Bio

My timezone is Eastern Standard, in case you need to know that sort of thing. I am very much a nerd, I like videogames and comic books. If you just want to chill and chat with me about videogames and comics, I'm totally down for that. I am more knowledgeable about the DC universe, when it comes to Marvel I know very little. My favorite Superhero is Superman and my favorite Batman villain is Mister Freeze, but I pretty much love all characters in the DC universe. As for video games, I usually stick in the range of anything with a good story. I've played the whole BioShock series, some of the Final Fantasys, both Portal games, all three of the Batman Arkham series and a whole bunch more. Right now I'm working on completing Persona 3 and 4, and Dragon Age Inquisition.

Leonel stiffened when he felt the cold metal press against he back of head. He stared at his father horrified at what was about to happen. He knew about the beast project and how most of them worked. These people were frightening, and terrified him the most in the world. They were only trained to kill, they were never given a chance at a life other than that of killing and being test subjects. It was wrong, yet it happened in the place that Leonel was forced to call home. He always wondered what would happen if he was actually able to talk to these people, and if there was even a sense of humanity left within them. He figured that there was nothing left, if they grew up on being trained to kill and that was all they knew. That's what terrified him the most, knowing that these people were completely human, but they might not even have a sense of what it really meant to be human.

"P-Please, not my son...just let him go. He has nothing to do with the government. He's completely innocent," Leonel's father begged, "Do whatever you want to me, just...leave my son alone."

Leonel stayed as still as he could, tears started to form in his eyes as he realized that at any moment his life could be over. Though, he didn't like what his father was saying either. He didn't want to be thrown out and lose everything he had, he just didn't want to know what that was like. He swallowed down the lump in his throat and found his voice again, "N-no...I'd rather die than be left alone." His voice was shaky and it came out just above a whisper. He had looked his father straight in the eyes as he had said what he just did. His father's face was full of shock and fright about what might happen to him after saying such a thing. "I don't want to be left caged up in that government facility for the rest of my life. If you're going to kill my father, then kill me too," Leonel continued when he saw that slight questioning look in his father's eyes.
Also, if you need a first name for Leonel's father ever, I'm going with Henry.
Leonel started to count in his head, of the seconds that passed by after the creak in the floor boards had passed. With every second he started to relax, nothing was happening. The place was safe. He let out a sigh of relief as he figured out that the beast was not there, but he suddenly remembered that was a bad thing. If the beast wasn't around that meant that his father wasn't around either. He looked at the ground for a few moments wondering if he could get to any other abandoned buildings in the area fast enough to save his father. If he could save his father. He just remembered how bad of an idea this was, and he couldn't exactly remember why he had decided to do something so dumb in the first place. Sure, he wanted to save his dad and that was the only family he had left, but there was no guarantee he could just walk out alive with his father. That was the least likely outcome ever.

He looked up again, and looked around one last time. He gasped when he saw exactly who he was trying to find, there was his father unconscious, and laying on the floor. Without even thinking, he ran up to him and knelt down next to him. "Dad...dad...wake up!" Leonel shook his father gently and tried to wake him up. Everything that had made him frightened to come into the abandoned building in the first place had completely vanished from his mind. He found who he had been looking for and that was what brought a sudden smile to his face. He thought he was victorious. He thought that this could change everything, maybe they could just leave the government and live like normal people.

His father's eyes opened slowly, and there had been a small smile that had came with it. It lasted for maybe a few moments before the doctor realized that he wasn't at home and that his head ached. He quickly realized what was going on and looked around for the beast that had taken him. He sat up and grabbed his son by the shoulders, "Leonel, what are you doing here? Run, get far away from this place," He whispered rather harsh and urgently.

"Wh-what?" Leonel questioned, confused about what his father was so panicked about. "Dad, I came here to save you. They weren't going to do anything about you missing and they knew that a beast had taken you. They were just going to let you get killed, I had to come and save you."
I don't mind sharing side characters, so go ahead and do what helps move the story along, or just use whatever side characters you need for that post.
Yeah, I started us off already.
It's fine! I hope you food was delicious.
It was late at night, his father had been missing for a while now, and the government clearly wasn't going to be doing anything about it. Leonel decided to take matters into his own hands, he slipped out of the facility without an issue. He wore a black cloak to help fight the cold wind, that signaled winter's beginning, and be able to blend in with the darkness of the night. He knew better than to let someone see him, there were people that might recognize him from school or there might be government officials that will know that he's not supposed to be running around town alone. He was only outside because he wanted his father back. He didn't care that a beast had him, or that this beast could easily kill him, he wanted his dad to be safe. He didn't have anyone else in the world, and he wasn't about to lose his father because the government couldn't keep a handle on their own projects.

The young man walked through the alleyways. He had these maze like alleyways memorized after a few years of sneaking out by himself. He now crept slowly through the maze, checking every direction as he went to make sure he wasn't being followed or get spotted by another person. Everything felt so silent and eerie that night, it made him want to just run back to the only place he knew as his home, but he continued to push himself forward. The moon was high, and he didn't have that much time to be running around looking for this beast. He could only search where he thought the beast might hide. The same sort of places that he had passed by when he would sneak out of the facility and thought would be great for hiding away from this government. Places that he and his father could move away to and just live normal lives again. He knew that his father would have never allowed such a thing, but the boy used to wander around and think how easy it would be to get away from these terrible people.

He finally found himself in front of an old building that had been abandoned for quite some time. He stopped dead in his tracks and saw that the door he was sure had been boarded up before, was now completely bare. The windows still were covered with wooden planks nailed in and were left completely untouched. It didn't really make sense, but still it brought a small smile to Leonel's face. He tried to look through the cracks between the planks on the windows, but he couldn't even see a sliver of the inside through the glass. He sighed, the only way in was through the front door. He would have to take it. His dad might be in there. Leonel pulled the cloak around him and made sure the hood was pulled up and covered his face in shadow. Not that it really mattered, he was sure the beast had no idea who he was, and he was just there for his father. Finally, the boy went up to the front door and slowly opened it. His hands shook with fright, he knew that this was a stupid idea, yet he still continued into the abandoned house.

He slowly moved forward, his breath shaky and his eyes searching for something, anything. Leonel froze in place the moment he heard the loud creaking floor board after he took another step forward. There was no way he wasn't heard. He was going to get killed for sure now, if the beast was here.
"Hayden, explain why we didn't come here in our armor?" One of the male knights questioned as the walked behind the centaurs and were getting a good look at the place already. There were plenty of creatures that looked dangerous and were a lot bigger than they were. Hayden was too busy staring forward at their destination to pay attention to the knight's question. That's what it looked like at least, it was more like Hayden was panicked himself. He had no idea these creatures would actually look so dangerous and look as if they were ready to kill them on the spot. They hadn't done anything to them, and they were planning on doing anything to them, so such hostility didn't seem possible to Hayden. Now, he was regretting leaving the armor behind, they could be in real danger. Not only that, he was the one that suggested they look as harmless as possible, so it was his fault if they got attacked. While his thoughts were all over the place, all anyone could see was a calm and focused look on his face.

Once they got to the town square, and were greeted by even more hostile looking creatures, the group just became more uneasy. Hayden looked around them and had already calculated that they'd be killed rather quickly if anything came in for a kill. Their weapons weren't even on them, they were hidden away in their bags and backpacks that they had carried with them. None of them would survive and that frightened him. He pushed Irina behind him, knowing full well that she wasn't the best fighter and needed more protection than the others. Hayden took a deep breath and folded up the paper after showing it off again. He stuck his hands into the pockets of the camouflage jacket he wore over his plain black t-shirt. "We're here to-" Hayden was cut short by the new person that came into the town square.

Before they had a chance to explain what they were doing, they were already dismissed and forced to follow this new guy to the place they were supposed to stay. The five knights walked behind this guy, feeling as if they were getting pushed and pulled in every direction right as they had just gotten there. Hayden had relaxed a bit, knowing that there was at least one friendly person in the kingdom, and that's all that they really needed. He wasn't sure how they were going to convince a whole great kingdom that their ways were wrong, or that they needed to change. It was going to be even harder when everyone was uncomfortable with them being there. He wondered if there had been some sort of war or disagreement that had happened between the two kingdoms before hand.
bump
"Being outside of the kingdom seems so...unnatural," One of the knights groaned as they walked through the forest path. There were five of them in all, and were on a top secret mission. This mission was given to the highest ranked member of this team, Hayden, who wasn't extremely high in rank and the only reason he was higher in rank was because of that time he saved the king. He wasn't too excited about being promoted, and the team he had brought with him knew it quite well. Since it was all up to the highest ranked member to decide how the mission was played out, they all were in average clothing, so they wouldn't look intimidating to the kingdom they were visiting. Their armor was left at home and their weapons were packed away in their bags.

"It's fine Irina, we don't have that much further to go. The Serji kingdom should be just up ahead," Hayden sighed. They hadn't taken any breaks, Hayden didn't like them to begin with, he felt that they could get things done faster if they didn't take so many breaks. He was more for getting his work done, rather than sitting down and eating. This left most of the team tired and hungry even though noon had just come upon them, they were getting used to the luxuries given to them at the castle and found it unfair not to be taking a break for lunch. Irina had been the only one on Hayden's side who wanted to push forward as well. It was rather predictable though, Irina always took Hayden's side on any argument.

A while later, the forest seemed to change. None of them would have been able to describe it quite well, since they had never come in contact with something so odd. It was the air around the forest, it didn't feel so average anymore. It felt like there was just something different and that was all they could figure out. As they continued things started to change more, there were creatures they had never seen before running by, and sudden things that couldn't be explained away as a simple coincidence. Finally, buildings started to come into view and they were stopped by a few terrifying looking guards, They looked human, until someone looked down, where they would see a horse's body attached. They were much larger than any of the people in the group of knights and didn't seem too friendly either.

Hayden, being the only one to keep a calm face, "We are here under orders of our king. There was an agreement that we could come in and conduct our business." Hayden pulled out a piece of paper from his back pocket that was supposed to get them through. It did. They found themselves in the kingdom of Serji, shocked and confused about what was going on. They had no idea such a place like this one existed and wasn't too sure where they were supposed to start in this mission they were given.
