Hearing, but paying no heed to the many conversations that filled the air, Oren took his stroll at a leisurely, almost lazy pace. With his hands clasped behind him, his path took him through various rooms and down a seemingly endless hallway. The hum of machinery came and went as he walked down this stretch of the airship, and it was a nice break to the sound of conversation. Before long though, he could hear the sound of other students once again. Pausing to take a look outside, he watched the landscape move past before something wrenched his attention away. A mixture of sounds, none that boded well, filled the air and he pulled away from the window slowly. Unable to see what had actually happened, Oren moved away from the railings he’d been leaning on and towards the sound’s source.

As he rounded the corner though, Oren was forced to abruptly halt lest he bowl over the other student. The single optic on his helmet glowed softly as he looked at the student he had just bumped into. “My apologies,” he murmured, though the voice was somewhat muffled and distorted by the helmet. Not enough to sound completely inhuman, but it could be described as somewhat artificial as if trying to imitate a human’s voice. “Not a robot, just a suit,” was the reply he gave to her excited exclamation, as he turned his gaze away from her. Further away he could see the remains of a bench that had been completely demolished to pieces, and judging from the students’ gazes that were just turning away, this girl was at fault. Well, that and the brief expression of guilt he had noticed before it changed into pain and subsequently awe. It wasn’t his concern though, so Oren didn’t bother mentioning anything as his curiosity was satisfied.

“If you’ll excuse me.” It was hard to express any sort of tone when his voice was altered, but the words might have just sounded polite. Stepping beside her, Oren figured he would continue with his wandering of the ship. There seemed to be nothing different in here, simply more students mingling about with one another. A drink bar was present in this area so he did make a mental note of that, although he didn’t think he would be making use of it.
There was one student who stood out amongst the students on the airship simply because of their appearance. It wasn’t possible to tell their gender because of the powered armor that clad their entire body. The white and black colored armor plates along with the blue glow that emanated from the chest piece and helmet were reminiscent of the Atlesian military, but the armor’s design was nothing like the standard fare worn by infantry, looking a great deal more advanced. A gentle hum filled the air around this student, no doubt the result of the Dust core that powered the entire suit. Its wearer had done little during the flight so far, preferring to lean back into the cushioned seat and swing its one-eyed gaze around the room occasionally.

If there was something else unusual about the student, if the individual even was one, it would be the small locker that had been set down beside him. It looked to be a smaller version of the weapon lockers found in a variety of places, complete with a whole myriad of security measures. A fairly unusual piece of luggage to carry around given how Hunters’ weapons could generally be folded and shrunk down into something more easily carried. It had been brought onboard the student’s back, likely attached through magnetism before being set down and left untouched so far. All in all, while there wasn’t an intimidating presence to the individual, the sheer oddness kept most others away so far.

Frankly, Oren didn’t really have a problem with being left alone. It was pleasant, and if he had managed to fall asleep then things would have been perfect. Unfortunately, his habits simply didn’t allow for him to nod off during the day and he had yet to beat that conditioning out. Thus he had passed the time looking at things he had already seen many times over and meeting the curious looks of other students. It was about as expected that this would happen, after all that was the point of having him wear the armor to Beacon in the first place. Reluctantly, he had agreed to don the suit for his journey to the school for Hunters after some coaxing from his father and command. Something about how it would represent the Atlesian military and do them proud to have one of their own joining such a prestigious Academy. He didn’t really feel the same way, but nonetheless agreed; in the end it was a small thing.

Finally deciding to do something aside from just sit around, Oren stood from his seat in a smooth and silent motion. The core brightened for a moment as power fed into systems that had gone into standby before regulating itself once more. Glancing about slowly, with a shrug he picked a random direction to head off in. In all likelihood there wasn’t much to see that he hadn’t already seen before, so where he explored didn’t matter to Oren. It was simply something to do rather than sit around in same room until arrival at Beacon. The locker was left behind. He doubt anyone would try to break into such a thing in the open and even if they did… well, military grade protection.
There's really nothing for everyone else not associated with Ebony Strykers to do given the announcement.

Unless of course everybody decides to ignore it for some reason.

Bio: The first thing most people notice about Owen is the discipline he has, the certainty in every movement he makes. Confident, he faces whatever life throws at him as unflinchingly as he can. He gives off the impression that he might be stuck up, but thankfully he keeps his mannerisms to himself and doesn’t expect them of those around him; understanding others’ situations obviously differ from his own. Keeping things brief is something of a habit for Owen, even in his free time and frankly he isn’t much for small talk. He won’t tell you off for trying to strike up conversation, but don’t expect too much from him.

While he wasn’t drastically different before, the few years he served in the Atlesian military prior to Beacon did mold him somewhat. On the topic of his service, it was something his parents required of him before they allowed him to pursue a life as a Huntsman. Frankly, it was safer and if he couldn’t handle it than Beacon likely would have killed him. As it was, Owen had little troubles, most of which had to do with his age, and left the service with more friends than he joined. His father even arranged for a special gift to be given to the defender of humanity in-training.

Prior to those three years, he had spent his time at a combat Academy in order to prepare for Beacon. His parents had allowed it on the condition that he first serve the kingdom before he left, and he saw no reason to refuse. Both were places and positions he could earn valuable experience at. He crafted a weapon for each year he attended the Academy, Sonig during his first, then Elemen, and finally Analdfflam during his final. It was also here where he first had his Aura unlocked and discovered his Semblance.

Weapon: He’s more like a soldier in this regard than his peers, but Oren carries multiple weapons with static forms rather than a single weapon that can shift between a number of forms. He denies any accusations of lacking craftsmanship and says, “They’re more reliable this way.” Aside from the custom weapons he's made for himself, Owen also has a number of standard Atlesian infantry weapons that he maintains and practices with.

Analdfflam is his primary weapon of choice. Its edge is sharp and doesn’t dull easily, though the weapon as a whole is exceptionally sturdy in construction. The weapon’s active ability is powered by fire Dust, with the canister inserted at the hilt. When used, fire bursts forth from between the two blades. Contained, the intense flames extend the sword’s reach by a good foot while heating the metal red hot, allowing it to cut more easily.

Sonig is Oren’s backup weapon. A small combat knife, its effectiveness should not be underestimated. The piece that looks like a pistol barrel at the top of the blade is actually a Dust container. The Dust stored within can be converted directly to kinetic energy which causes the blade to vibrate at high intensities, allowing it to carve through Grimm with surprising ease. The small size means that the function cannot be maintained for long though and will not last in prolonged fights. Nonetheless, even without its additional function, the knife is a good, if last resort, weapon.

Elemen is the name of Oren’s pistol. It fires large caliber rounds that are capable of putting down Ursas with little problem. Holding seven rounds per magazine, the two slides on the side of the weapon can hold a mixture of Dust and other substances. Upon chambering, a layer of the mixture can be used to coat the round before it is fired to imbue it with potent effects, in addition to whatever Dust the round may already contain. Normally, powdered Dust inside a firearm chamber would be the peaks of stupidity, but the mixture stabilizes the volatile material until it impacts.

His favorite piece of equipment offered by the Atlesian military would probably be the HTEC Heavy Assault Rifle. In contrast to the normal ARs carried by infantry, the HTEC boasts greater performance in almost every way. The caliber is larger for better stopping power, while stability has been maintained with minimal loss to accuracy. Firing rate is about the same, but with the larger rounds a maximum rate of 600 rounds/minute is still overkill in most circumstances. Magazine size has actually been increased to hold a total of 45 rounds, which contributes to the greater overall weight of the weapon itself. Highly reliable on the field, the weapon takes very little maintenance to ensure functionality and can go through hell and high water.

Semblance: Shatter, the Pieces Lay. His Semblance is capable of affecting any surface to render it fragile and weak. Thicker materails resist the effect well though, as only the surface will be changed. The interior will still retain the material’s durability and thus Owen would have to apply his Semblance numerous times and chip away. The cost depends on a number of factors including how much he is weakening the material by, the amount of area affected, how far from the target he is, etc.

Strength/Weakness:
Skill: He spent three years at an Academy equivalent to Signal and Sanctum. Another three years service in the Atlesian military. A good deal of the time spent not on base, but out in the field, clearing and driving back Grimm. Even fought against the White Fang on a few occasions. Thus, has a wealth of experience against both man (Faunus incl.) and beast, both with Aura and without the shield of his soul. Also fairly competent with more mundane weapons in comparison to what Huntsman and Huntress use.
Knowledge: Refer above. Six years of training, including at least a year of actual battle experience. Keen eyed, level-headed, and adaptive, Owen is one to watch and learn even as the fight rages on around him.

Aura: His Aura isn’t necessarily weak, but the three years he served, he rarely drew on the power of his soul. As a result, he isn’t as efficient with it as he would like to be and wastes far more than he needs to protect himself.
Semblance: Owen has no problem controlling his Semblance and is quite capable of fine precision. The drain is quite noticeable for simply using it though, and only gets worse the more he tries to do with it. Most of his uses in the last three years were small pinpoint areas for concentrated fire.
Nine in total, eight others beside him. His quick look around told him he was probably one of the older individuals here, with the majority being young adults… if barely. He only recognized Yuno, who was beelining for the castle at the moment, which was a relief in itself. Considering they were right next to each other when this had happened, it didn’t seem too odd that she had ended up here. If everyone else had been someone he recognized as well though? That would have just been too odd. Not that the situation in itself wasn’t odd enough… Sighing, he cut himself off before his thoughts could run wild and refocused.

He raised a hand and nodded towards the brunette as a reply to her greeting, but what was supposed to be a pleasant expression darkened quickly. Turning away from the girl, he hadn’t meant to direct it towards her after all, he found himself looking at the castle that was supposed to be his destination. Call it an instinct, but he had a distinct feeling of being watched. Logically he knew there was no way for him to notice anything at such a distance, but he scanned the walls nonetheless. A flicker caught his attention, and though Adam knew he had seen the gleam of light the moment he had blinked it’d disappeared. “Tch.” Displeased, he schooled his expression before turning back to the group.

Ignoring the little spectacle with the three on the ground, he let his eyes pass the group by before settling on another individual. She was young, probably one of the younger, but he didn’t judge her solely on that. If he were to comment on his impression, he’d probably liken her to an officer cadet. Not quite there yet, but nonetheless deserving of respect. Not that any of that bled through when all he did was give a shrug that said, “Basically," as an answer to her question. He would have turned for the castle at that moment, wanting to figure out what this was all about and settle the uneasiness that had seeped in after his little observation, but he didn’t. Instead, he walked up to the orange haired young lady; just calling her girl didn’t seem appropriate. "Can I take a look?” With hands in his pocket, a cool tone as he asked, it wouldn’t be hard to see Adam as being indifferent. He did care though and hoped it was nothing more serious than a bruise. Anything else would most likely have her resting the arm for a few days.
S'up.

Somewhat? Not too sure if I'm joining, but I'm interested in what you have to put up at the least.
