Raule was busy lounging around on the stage, legs swinging about idly, when Mr. Seor walked in from one of the many entrances. “Good to see you’re here early, not sure if any of the others plan on coming though, but I got a few maybes.” Nodding at that, Raule turned his eyes towards the stands where the fourth years fell in behind their teacher.

Clearing his throat, a sound that somehow filled the open aired arena, Mr. Seor turned to address their “audience”. “Good evening fourth years. I’m sure a few of you are wondering exactly why you have been called down at this late hour to watch fifth years give demonstrations. No doubt some of you are thinking, ‘How big of a difference could one year make?’ Well, a question then. When do you think most of the Academy’s students drop out?” He paused as he looked at the gathered fourth years, not expecting an answer, before he continued. “It is near the end of the fourth year surprisingly. While you may have taken various missions starting from your third year to ease yourselves into the expectations Gatekeepers are held to, I would warrant very few of you have actually ventured into Labyrinths as of yet. Perhaps you have dealt with the monsters that have been spawned in one’s vicinity, but if you think that prepares you for the challenge of clearing one I would suggest you throw those assumptions away. However, by the end of this year you will all be expected to step foot into one of these mysterious and dangerous zones. Some of you may not survive, while others may not be able to rise up to the challenge. Those that do complete it successfully will move on to their fifth year, like this man over here.” Raule raised a hand in a small wave when Mr. Seor mentioned him, but otherwise did nothing. “Tonight he will be putting on a small demonstration of what can be expected of a fifth year in the Academy.”

With that, Raule finally stood up and turned his back onto the fourth years as he stepped out into the middle of the stage. Mechanical hisses could be heard as segments of the floor shifted and moved, before his opponents for tonight rose up. Not the fragile wooden things that first and second years sparred with, these were fully equipped combat droids. Often sent ahead of actual Gatekeepers into Labyrinths, they were quite capable of clearing aside weaker monsters found closer to the surface, and were considered to be invaluable for supplementing numbers in the outposts. It seemed that Mr. Seor didn’t intend to hold back as surrounding Raule at the moment were 10 of the droids, and the vibrations underneath his feet told him there were more being readied if need be. With a deep breath he shifted his stance, spreading his feet wider, lowering his body, and nodded.

“Begin.” At Mr. Seor’s word, the droids came to life. A few reconfigured their hands into blades, others rushed towards Raule as they were, and about half hung back as their hands shifted into guns which began to spin up. Raule on the other hand exhaled slowly as a white glow spread across his entire body, originating from his chest. While he didn’t quite cause a sonic boom when he moved, he did manage to shatter the arena floor underneath him, cracks spreading across the surface. To the droid’s credit, even as Raule rocketed towards it, it managed to halt its advance and shift into a defensive stance. The overhead guard managed to hold against Raule’s axe kick, but the droid was unable to react when Raule grabbed its arm, ripped it from the ground, and hurled it towards the others like a projectile. Then he turned to deal with the others, but had to leap to the side as the spot he had previously stood was torn up by automatic fire.

The demonstration continued for a while before Mr. Seor finally called it off. It wasn’t that the droids weren’t useful, but against Raule they ran into the same issues as the stronger Labyrinth monsters. They could absorb an insane amount of punishment, so much that Raule had to pull out all the stops if he exactly wanted to break them apart, but their offensives capabilities fell far short in comparison. Their armaments were often too weak to hurt the larger monsters, or the more humanoid creatures, like Raule, simply moved too fast. He weaved in between their numbers, threw them around, before hopping away as the roar of gunfire trailed after him.

The droids picked themselves up, marched back to their starting positions, and powered down. Raule on the other hand sighed and let the white glow fade away, glancing down at himself with an annoyed expression. He’d probably need to visit the school store to pick up another set of clothes after this. While he wasn’t actually injured, beyond the superficial pain from the blows and bullets he hadn’t managed to dodge, his clothes hadn’t come out undamaged. It still held up fine, so it wasn’t like he was indecent, but he couldn’t imagine any teachers allowing him to come to class wearing something in that condition.

@Pyre, Kael might notice Francesca's in a rather skimpy type of outfit or something of the sort. Her "Ops Suit".

SKIMPY OUTFITS.
When the online brawl's over and done with, I'll still be around and waiting. Just saying.
He turned relatively quickly to the sound of someone’s voice, already guessing it wasn’t the person in question he was looking for. Surprise, surprise, instead of the rifle lady it was the bat girl that had gotten robbed on the Interstate. Raising an eyebrow, he stepped aside to let her pass as she ran up to smack the Walker that had been attracted by the sound of his voice. “I would, but that’s generally not a good way to get someone’s attention,” he remarked as he followed up behind her, crowbar ready to lend a hand in case things went awry.
Placing his other hand on the handle, Perry brought his weapon down in a powerful diagonal swing. Powerful enough that it had little trouble carving through two Beowolves without slowing in the slightest. Its tip buried into the ground, coming to a halt at last, and he let go of it to deal with the last Grimm. He blocked a swing of its clawed hands with his arm before sending it stumbling backwards with a sharp kick to its chest, leaning back as he did to avoid getting mauled. While it was trying to regain its footing, he wrenched his weapon from the earth and drew a large gash across the Grimm’s frame, carving it from hip to shoulder. It stumbled at the large wound not quite dead, but the lance tip that punched through its chest certainly finished it off. The corpse slid off as Blast Bicell folded back together. “No, they really aren’t.”

“Perry Symund, nice to meet you I suppose,” he introduced himself before turning to look around, “I suppose we should get a move on it if we don’t want to be last.” He hadn’t bothered trying to extend his flight time like some of the others, and it would appear neither had the other student. So they were likely one of the furthest pairs from the ruins where their objectives apparently laid. Yet the odd silence that ensued had Perry turning around in question. "What..." he murmured in confusion as all trace of the other student had basically disappeared. He hadn't been paying attention, but he was certain he would have at least picked up some trace of the student leaving. While he wanted to get a move on towards the objective, he couldn't just leg it without his "partner". Grumbling in a bit of annoyance, he walked over to the spot where the other student had stood for any traces of where he might have gone. Yet, despite his efforts, there was literally nothing, not even the slightest track on the forest floor. It was as if the student had been whisked away.by something.

He couldn't stay for long though, as a chill ran up his spine to reinforce that though. Looking around him and paying attention, he could hear the sounds of the Grimm all around him in the forest. Standing up and backing away from the spot slowly, he made his decision a brief moment later when the sounds intensified. If the other student hadn't revealed himself despite the heavy Grimm activity, Perry could only assume the worst. With a quiet curse, he turned around and dashed off into the trees.
Renose said This also makes using items a bit harder in combat. Granted you can hold things in your pockets (if they are small enough) but that may not be good for fragile items (like potions and such).

So if something were to hit your Inventory Items mid-combat would your items inside (like potions) shatter, or do they un-damagable while inside?

Uh, just to clarify but it was my intention to have Alex be around Michelle's area, who I assume is still some distance away from Charlotte, Lee, and Jagred. And the opposite direction Charlotte would want to travel if trying to help Jagred. Or she'd have overshot Jagred by quite a bit.

But whatever, that's only my mental map of what's going on and what everyone's positions are.

As for the weird stat sure. I suppose it could just be stuff like being unnaturally hard for the Walkers to notice, or perhaps being stronger the more in the immediate vicinity. Explain it as the dormant virus nonetheless continuing to mutate and side effects as a result.
Apparently luck, or at least one aspect of it, was with Alex today. The alley did in fact seem to be clear and through the various turns he made there wasn’t a single Walker in his path. It was a bit hard at first to tell if he was getting closer, given how the walls bounced the alarm’s sound, but it couldn’t fully muffle the climbing volume as he got near. He slowed to a walk as he approached another corner ahead, and gave it a wide berth as he looked around it. Last thing he wanted was to hug the wall, peak around, and get a Walker to the face. Not that that would have happened though, given how the alley was clear as well. The street that laid at the end of it? Not so much. Stragglers occasionally shuffled past the entrance on their way to the car alarm, so while Alex didn’t think he’d get overrun the moment he stepped out the chance of him having to fight was basically 100%. That, and he couldn’t be certain which building housed the rifle-toting lady, though he was fairly certain he was in the right area.

What he was about to do was probably stupid, but only marginally more than trying his luck by heading onto the street. Breathing deep, tossing the crowbar hand to hand, he called out, “Anybody around?!?” Now hopefully it wasn’t only the Walkers that had heard him. He was fairly sure that any in the street had heard him, but the car alarm a bit off probably drowned out his voice before it traveled too far. If he was completely off and the rifle lady wasn't nearby at all, he could always book it back down the way he had came. There hadn't been any Walkers on his way here, so with any luck there wouldn't be any if he needed to back off, but even if there were it'd probably be far easier to deal with than the mini-horde he might have just attracted.
Given that the introductions seemed to be over with, Mushi figured it would be best to get things rolling quickly. “Party Creation,” he muttered and when no keypad appeared with the notification, “Trial of Beginnings.” Tapping the yes button on the window that popped up afterwards, he blinked in surprise when no changes occurred. Normally you’d get at least a list of names on the side of who was part of your party, but he supposed it was another feature the design team had set aside for more realism. With a sigh, he turned to each of the other five individuals and murmured, “Invite to Party [Trial of Beginnings].” Hopefully that was satisfactory enough.

While he waited for the others to accept or decline, he got back to familiarizing himself with the various windows. Dismissing them after he had a quick glance through, he pulled the [Basic Wand] free of its holder. Twirling the small wand around for a moment, he stopped and held it for a moment, examining the piece, before placing it back. Last but not least was the [Sack] that he had on his back. It was an interesting choice to make it so players had to actually manage their inventory physically instead of through a window, but Mushi could see it becoming an annoyance down the line. Seeing as there was only a [Money Pouch] inside at the moment though, he closed it back up and reslung it onto his back. With that, he was pretty much ready to head through the door and start the quest, but was waiting on the others.
