Well Gavin ran into Atlas.
Unable to do much, Perry watched from the ground as the other students fought against the Grimm. With the Taijitu’s attention elsewhere as it fought or died, he finally managed to pick himself up. Wincing as each breath stung, he still managed to refold Blast Bicell into its storage form and clip it behind him. Hands free of the massive weapon now, Perry took another survey of the situation. It was faint, but the other four students seemed to be dealing with the Grimm in the forest just fine. One of the Taijitu was dead, and the other one was being dealt with at the very moment. He didn’t see his partner anywhere on the battlefield oddly enough, though the chaotic nature might have obscured the other student’s prone form if he was unconscious.

Limping away, sore but not broken from the large Grimm’s blow, he reached and leaned against a tree just in time to see the last Taijitu die in a particularly messy manner. He sighed as he slumped to the ground, but before he could actually relax a shrill hiss filled the air. Head snapping to find the source, he saw the spider-like Grimm leap into the air with a student on its back before it began its descent. Towards where most of the others were gathered, apparently in a suicidal action. While he was not in any immediate danger thanks to his distance from the others, there wasn’t much he could do but watch and bite his lip in frustration.

In the end, it seemed that everyone managed to escape without too much injury, albeit some were unceremoniously thrown out of the way via bursts of wind. His eyes narrowed before widening as he finally figured out where his “partner” was.
“Fuck.” He wasn’t certain if he’d make it given how standing up took far longer than it should have, but he wasn’t going to just sit on his ass and watch someone dangle from a cliff’s edge.

Fortunately, it seemed that he was not the only person who’d noticed the student’s plight. Shoulders slumping as he sighed, he watched for a moment after his partner’s savior left just to make sure the Faunus didn’t collapse. When it seemed that everything was alright as it could be, Perry turned and trudged over to the waiting airship.

Getting onboard, he wasn’t too surprised that he was one of the students taken aside by the medical staff. Guessing that they had been monitoring the student’s Aura levels, Perry let the staff run their tests, drank a few disgusting liquids, before finally being released from their care. Despite being sore and wanting nothing more than to take a nap, there were a few things he needed to attend to first.

There was only so much that could be done for his appearance on the airship, but at the very least Perry had managed to clean himself up somewhat. His clothes were still destined for the trash or burner, but at least he there wasn’t a filthy mix of blood, dirt, and ash on him anymore. A slight bump signalled the airship’s arrival at Beacon, and with a sigh Perry left to go join his fellow students.

Blinking slowly at the announcement, Perry resisted the urge to slap his hand to his face. Why he had been made leader when he’d almost gotten himself, and his partner by extension, killed was beyond him. Nonetheless, he smiled at the applause and took it with a nod before making it off the stage for the teams still yet to be formed. Thankfully nobody seemed to make a big deal about his appearance, probably understanding that stuff tended to get torn or ripped when fighting with the Grimm.

To his unsurprise, his “partner” stormed off from the group almost immediately once they were off the stage. While he hadn’t exactly hoped, Perry had thought that he might have at least tried to interact with Schwarz at the least. Apparently not though, and now that he wasn’t in front of everyone he finally let out a resigned sigh before turning to the others. And blinking when he realized that Schwarz had already left to follow after Kuhaku.
“Well shit…” he murmured uneasily as he watched one Faunus trailed after the other. Running a hand through his hair, he shook his head and decided the two could figure things out on their own; they were old and mature enough to do so. . If it turned out for the worse, then he'd deal with it afterwards. Turning back to his remaining team member, one Ravira Tudious, he said, “Well, Ravira, it’ll be nice to work with you. Just to let you know though, Kuhaku seems to dislike humans with a passion, even if he can work with them. I doubt he'll want to be friends. Shall we find our dorm room for now?"
Just waiting.
Cool. Added in a short bio.
Sup...
Descartes said But Vita, he can't even be comedy relief? What would KLK be without Mako?

Probably marginally better at times.
As he calmed down, it became pretty clear that he wasn’t the only person around. When he stopped moving and his ears weren’t filled with the hammering of his heart, Gavin could just barely hear another person’s voice and footsteps as they walked over grass. Opening his eyes, he also noticed the ambient light coming from a few houses down the street. While a small part, the one that remembered the horror movies he’d watched, told him to ignore the light, the need to know he wasn’t alone made Gavin step forward.

Leaving the immediate area in front of his house, the eeriness of the situation struck Gavin once more. Without the flashlight he didn’t know if he would have been able to see more than a few feet in front of him; if the stars were out then they were certainly being obscured by thick clouds. Swinging the beam of light side to side, he couldn’t help but shiver a bit at what was revealed. An empty car sat in the middle of the road, idling in silence somehow, waiting for a driver that’d disappeared. A door halfway open to a house, with its curtains fully drawn, he walked by. Odd things that simply didn’t fit in.

He didn’t want to risk calling out in such an odd situation; using the flashlight probably attracted enough attention as was. So to compensate as he didn’t really want to sneak up on anyone and surprise them given the situation, Gavin moved bobbed his flashlight around. Apparently he’d caught the person’s attention, getting a flashlight beam to the face when he turned around the corner. Turning away slightly as he shielded his eyes with the hand holding the wrench, he aimed his flashlight down at his feet and away from the other person.
“Dude, be quiet. Are you trying to attract attention?.”

Despite his tone, Gavin was actually fairly happy to have found another living soul. Granted the other person sounded panicked, so whether it was actually a good thing or not Gavin wasn’t sure, but it was something at the least. “Can you get that out of my face?”
S'not even been a day yet, s'all good (by me at the least).
Still have to work on Brief Bio, but just curious if there's even any chance of this passing. I can understand if his abilities need to be dialed down.

  • Appearance:
  • In a word? Massive. At slightly over 10’ tall (3.1m), nearly 6’ (1.8m) broad at the shoulders, and with an arm length of 7' (2.1m) Eise’s appearance reflects his original purpose. Namely something not to be trifled with lightly. His mechanical hands are huge, with the longest fingers nearly 2’ (.66m).

Despite a design similar to a gorilla’s, Eise is nonetheless able to walk around like a regular human would. More often than not though, he also uses his hands as to better distribute his weight. Several tons on only two feet is more than enough to break through floors or ruin roads.

  • Name:
  • Eise Herze
  • Age:
  • ???
  • Gender:
  • Doesn’t really have one, but masculine.
  • Race:
  • Artificial Golem

  • Personality:
  • Eise can be described as cocksure, even if he isn’t a very vocal individual. It’s not his status as a Golem, but rather the strength that comes alongside it that gives him the confidence. As previously mentioned Eise doesn’t speak much, preferring not to as his voice is very mechanical and even stilted at times, but can be very expressive for what was once a mindless construct. Scoffing or flicking dismissively are some common gestures one might expect, alongside incredulous tilts of the head, a lack of care, and bored expressions.

Despite that, he isn’t all annoyance to deal with. Either as a result of some remnants of programming or simply his personality, Eise is can be a fairly protective individual. And despite it being his source of confidence, he’ll never belittle someone’s lack thereof. Their stupidity, recklessness, or whatever other factor made them in need of rescue is certainly fair game though.

  • Brief Backstory:
  • Forged by a Singularity innumerable years in the past, ever since its creator's fall from their Pantheon the golem has been inactive. Without a flow of energy from its master, the golem's own core was enough to sustain the barest minimum of activity to keep itself from completely shutting down, yet little more than that. Life does work in strange ways though, and as more and more years passed the thrum of this creation's "heart" only grew stronger and more vibrant rather than duller and weak.

Eventually it reached such a point that, with a blinding burst of light, the golem reawakened itself as magic surged through ancient veins long deprived. Its directives long eroded and without a creator to serve, the golem did something unthinkable. It mused on its situation, pondering what to do next with sentience that should not have existed. It seemed that the long years had not only strengthened the core, but formed a mind that simply needed to be jolted awake.

Eventually though, the golem fashioned a name for itself and left the tome of its long dead creator behind. No longer shackled nor chained, it hadn't fallen like the creator's other creations for some reason, so it would find its own purpose now.

  • Abilites:
  • As an Artificial Golem, Eise isn’t really susceptible to the requirements creatures of flesh have. Sleep or sustenance aren't required, and he doesn't seem to require any maintenance to function either.

Incredibly durable and capable of great feats of strength, there’s few creatures of his size that could match Eise in strength. Powered by magic, he has a lot of energy in reserve but can be costly (in terms of time and/or requirements) to recharge fully.

Designed for combat, there were certain safety features implemented during Eise’s creation. Firstly, his body is made out of a special alloy that has the property of absorbing magic and using it to supercharge the material. Normal supply is not enough to activate this special property, but provides enough for function. During combat, excess is bled off after being rendered inert, though this can be overwhelmed. Nonetheless, this means that Eise has a fairly hefty degree of magic resistance.

In addition to this, despite never intending for it to develop a mind, the creator imbued Eise with various protections against magic and abilities that would affect the golem’s control system. These have shifted over to Eise’s “mind” and render him resistant to abilities that would affect the mind such as spells that might induce emotion or simply mind control.

Normally Eise cannot really move faster than a human when travelling which, considering his larger size, is rather bad. In short bursts, like a combat situation though, he's capable of launching himself into motion at speeds that surprise opponents. Granted he's not able to maintain this speed for more than a second or so, but it can easily allow him to close a gap of about a dozen meters.

  • Equipment, Items, and Other Belongings on Hand:
  • A money pouch that’s rather full with valuable gems and minerals. It’s easier for him to keep track of than the various currencies used in the world.

A massive wooden bo staff about 3m in length and 1.5 inches in diameter. He keeps it around mostly for when he just wants to injure or incapacitate. While capable of doing so unarmed, massive metal fists generally do much more damage than the staff. It does look a bit strange when held given how fragile it looks in comparison to his body.

  • Miracles:
  • A Quest for You. A Miracle that empowers those affected as long as they stride towards the goal given by Eise. Currently the boosts manifests itself as a slight increase in both physical and mental capabilities. “Quest takers” don’t become superhuman, but perform marginally better while under its effects. The Divinity cost is not a one time thing with this Miracle though as it drains Eise’s reserves for as long as active.

Clear your Head. A Miracle that imposes a mental time out on those affected. It disconnects them from the physical realm (senses are cut off as well) and allows them the time to freely think and sort out their thoughts and feelings. In the “real” world the effect is essentially instantaneous, but grants up to five minutes of time in the affected mind.

  • Domains:
  • Purpose. Tranquility.
Illuminated by the dull glow of his laptop screen, the university freshman reclined back into his chair as he browsed aimlessly. Jazz music played softly, contained to his room as to not disturb his parents who had already retired for the night. Though his body was ready to go to sleep, judging by the yawns he’d been making for the last hour, his mind refused to still and fall unconscious. So here he was, wasting away the night in front of his computer rather than underneath a warm, but certainly uncomfortable blanket. A yawn when the clock struck midnight and when Gavin reopened his teary eyes it was to the sharp light of his laptop screen, the only light in his room now.

“What the?” Shielding his eyes, he turned down the screen’s brightness before trying to figure things out. Tapping the power button on his desk lamp to no avail, he sat back down and scratched his head. That his laptop had lost internet connection wasn’t missed by Gavin either. That… was odd to put mildly. While he would have chalked it up to a blackout, he couldn’t think of any plausible reason for one to have occurred aside from a fuck-up at the facility. While not impossible, it didn’t seem all too likely, but there wasn't much else he could go with. Sighing in annoyance at the abrupt end to his plans for the immediate future, he wondered what to do next before something else apparently decided it for him.

Nearly bolting from his seat when a shrill noise rang in his ears, Gavin spun around to face his door with his heart pounding. Glancing around nervously, the 19-year old took a few deep breaths to calm down. It didn’t work… on the contrary a deep pit seemed to form in his stomach as he stared at the shadows in the corner of his room. “I’ve seen enough goddamn horror movies for this shit…” With that eloquent line, he powered off his laptop, grabbed his phone as a makeshift flashlight, and got up to leave the room.

What hit him first when he stepped out was the utter silence, though with the power out he supposed it made sense. The wooden floorboards were ice cold under his feet, but he managed to walk over them without even a single creak. A “skill” born from years of staying up late despite his parents’ disapproval. Pausing in front of the master bedroom, it only took a moment for Gavin to realize things were horribly wrong. His father wasn’t an obnoxious snorer when asleep, but it would be a far cry to describe him as silent. Yet that’s exactly what he heard at the moment. Uncaring of what his parents might say, Gavin opened the door slowly to be greeted with the sight of an empty bed. If his heart hadn’t been hammering before, it was certainly running at overdrive now.

Leaving the room behind quickly, he didn’t know what was going on, but suffice to say Gavin didn’t feel safe. Returning to his own, he slung his backpack before he headed down the stairs, the phone’s light at max brightness to illuminate the way down. Seeing nothing out of place on the first floor, but still unable to shake the eerie feeling, he paused only to pick up a few things. Soon enough he was out of the house with flashlight and wrench in hand, walking across his front lawn. Swinging the beam of light left to right as he advanced, the feeling didn’t abate even after he’d left the confines of his home. The silence was unsettling to put mildly, and the town seemed dead for a lack of better word. Even this late at night there were usually some cars he could hear running of in the distance, insects or small critters making some noise, really anything aside from dead silence.
