Definitely. I can see them as both MPs and unique suits. If you want to write for it, iit's your call.

Sounds good, I think I'll start scratching down some ideas.

You guys have heard of armored core, right? When I think "realistic mechs" my mind goes straight to that. May be worth your time to wiki, as there are several hundred designs and ideas available through that IP.

Big fan of Armored Core but I'd hardly call it realistic save perhaps for AC5, which still has a bunch of insane stuff like the Overed weapons, while AC4 stuff is especially over the top. The most realistic depiction of mechs out there is probably Armored Trooper VOTOMS.

Gundam 08 MS Team, depicts Mobile suits in a more realistic manner. Interested in this

This sounds cool. There is something intruiging on huge metal (I mean both kinds of metal) colloses with extensive weaponry. I just want to ask, if there would be any problem with mech looking like this I know it doesn´t really into realistic/anime category but how can you not fall in love with such beast?

I can actually see that warhammer mech being in titan fall, if not more armored and less ornaments

You had me at mecha. I'll likely will be starting up my own Mobile Frame setting sometime next month, which I've booted up a couple times before. I'm always up for a good mech stomping. Now, since you've established that the setting is focused on real robots (thank God), we ought to set some parameters for the typical machines in your RP. How tall are they? What kind of engines are they powered by? How many weapons do they typically carry? Are they restricted to walking, can they skate with wheels on their feet, like in VOTOMS, or do they use some other form of propulsion? What kind of armor are they equipped with and what can they withstand?

All these questions add to the depth and realism of the setting, and it's the nitty gritty that makes real robots enjoyable. Maybe some ideas can be had in the description of the mechs for my Mobile Frame setting:

"Mobile Frame" is the name attributed to the bipedal machines used by humanity. These frames are used in many aspects of life, from construction, to agriculture, to warfare and so on. Frames vary in size depending on their purpose, although most military frames top off at five meters in height. Deviations are rare, but some experimental frames may be taller or shorter than the norm depending on their intended role. The latest military frames are powered by miniaturized, thermonuclear reactors and held together by an internal skeleton of sorts, to which armor and components are attached. Myomers, thin tubes of artificial musculature, sheathe actuators, which are the joints of a frame. This allows frames to perform precise movements and to an extent, mimic that of the human body. Multiple layers of laminated steel and composite armor protect the frame's internals.

The cockpit of a frame is located in the torso, and allows the pilot to perceive the outside world through electronic monitors. These displays are connected to various cameras fitted on the frame's body, the main of which is typically mounted on a head unit. Cockpit designs closely resemble that of jets, having control systems that make use of combinations of joysticks, throttles, and foot pedals. Overall appearances and controls may vary from one manufacturer to another.

Frames are semi-modular machines, allowing them to be equipped with a variety of equipment and weaponry. This commonly includes autocannons, in the form of frame-sized rifles, missile and grenade launchers. Most frames can carry around three armaments, not including smaller, antipersonnel or integrally-mounted weapons. Beam weaponry has not been perfected on a level required to be assigned as a standard-issue armament. Gauss weaponry remains an experimental technology, but that hasn't stopped some factions from slapping them onto their machines. While the combat protocol of most militaries pass the notion of hand-to-hand between frames as unrealistic and impractical, there are mercenaries who try to make use of melee weapons on their frames, whether for fun or fear factor. Their effectiveness is dubious, but that hasn't stopped them from trying.

Sorry for the delay. I've been preoccupied with exams, but my last one's tomorrow, and the OOC is well underway. I've had to rewrite and rework some ideas around, but I hope you'll like the results. I don't plan on making a hefty backstory, but the mecha frames and weapons are taking a while. I'll check back soon and hopefully by then the OOC will be up and we can get started.

When is this kicking off? I have a few ideas for a CS, but I have a quick question: What's the technological level of the world?

This is really, really interesting to me. Quick question, though: What about mechs with more than 2 legs, akin to spider tanks and the like?

@Kyelin - Plasma energy weapons and energy based power systems are commonplace in the setting. Flying mechas will be used, but they will mostly use thrusters for movement, meaning that they have to accelerate, brake, etc. Ask any questions on what is and is not acceptable and I'll answer them. As for the OOC, I'll try to have it up soon, but real life isn't being very accommodating right now.

@Zeratul2k - Yes, that's fine. Just remember to make comments about its movement options in the CS, which will be up soon.

Doing my best to work on it when I can. Unfortunately, that isn't very often. I don't blame anyone for losing interest.
