Sid offered Citrine a simple nod as he headed up the rear of the group. He peered one of his pitch black eyes over his shoulder as he listened in on the distant sound.

Mental sat on a large rock from a distant, he was laying on his stomach and his head in his hands. "Looky, looky, looky!" he said happily, summoning his knife and rubbing it on the sand boulder. "The GEMS are coming! The GEMS are coming! How lovely!" he said, rolling over onto his back. He started the stabbing the sand boulder, cutting through it swiftly. "Now I get to stab, stab, STAB!" he said, chuckling merrily before jumping from boulder to boulder, staying careful to stay out of sight of the gems, but still able to be close enough that he could make each of them out.

Sid shook his head slightly as he watched the two, he knew this routine all to well and he knew it would end with the usual pointless fight. He set his ebony eyes behind him as he continued to listen for anything that may be a danger to the group.

Mental saw that Citrine was carrying Topaz on his back. "Oh, looksies!" he said in a nasty giggling fit. "Citrines giving Topaz a PIGGY-BACK RIDE!" he said, now rolling over on the sandstone, laughing with incredible ferocity.

Mental heard the rumbling. "Oh, goody!" he said, while laying on his back. "Something is coming, SOMETHING IS COMING!" he said while in a giggling fit, stabbing through the sandstone. "I hope whatever the rumbling is doesn't kill them... that's my job!" he said as he collapsed on the Sandstone in an intense laughing fit.

Topaz was saying something in protest but being entirely drowned out by the rumbling. He yelled louder trying to get above the sound. "THIS is no time to have a laugh at my expense!" He clamped his hands over his ears.

"Oh, no!" Mental said. "I better catch up, the little gems are speeding away!" he said sarcastically, giggling. He rushed forward to different Sandstones, so that he could continue following them. "Ring around the rosies," he said merrily, "Pockets full of posies," he continued. "Ashes, ashes, THE GEMS DIE NOW!" he shouted over the rumbling, loud enough so the gems could hear it. He jumped ahead of all the gems, allowing them to see him. "Well, well, well!" he said in a giggling fit. "It looks like the GEMS are here! How lovely of you all to show up!" he said, now laughing hysterically.

Mental laughed and caught the arrow with his teeth. He chewed it up and ate it. "Thank you! That sure was a tasty treat!" he said, continuing to laugh hysterically. "It seems you're trying to get away from the little rumble?" he giggled. "Well, I apologize, but I think I might delay your progress!" he said, laughing maniacally, then jumping forward and cutting Citrine's cheeck, lightly, just enough that a drop of blood came from it, and just enough that it would sting, a little. He landed on Citrine's head and then kicked off and back to where he was.

Sid's eyes narrowed as he drew his scythe from his gem. He wasted no time to attack. He throw his scythe, which began to spin much like a boomerang, and it was aimed to knock Mental off his feet. He then launched himself forward, his foot extended to kick Mental in the chest.

Mental laughed at jumped on top of the scythe, and did some footwork so that he was on top of it as it was goin, when Sid got close enough to kick him in the chest, he thrusted backwards and jumped, landing on leg and then kicking off. "♪The Gems are going to die this day, die this day, die this day! The Gems are going to die this day!♪" he landed on the ground. "♪MY FAIR LADY♪" and with that he sprinted forward towards the Gems.

(( to the tune of London Bridge is falling down, he also sang that with a fake British accent ))
