Baah I can't figure out where to start. So many ideas...
Sorry I haven't posted in this yet- I had a short hiatus due to family problems. Where's a good place to start my characters?
Abigail: *Is sitting on a bench, eating a sandwich and kicking her feet* *Looks around at everything that's going on, but doesn't seem to care*

Cassius: *Is sitting cross-legged next to her, eyeballing the sandwich* Bwup...
Name: Abigail and Cassius

Age: Collectively, 22. Individually, 14 and 10.

Appearance: Two entities. The first is the teenage girl Abigail Satterfield, who is for all intents and purposes human. Abigail is ethnically Russian and American, although her parents have both been dead a long time now. She has black hair tied into a ponytail with a green clip, and generally seems to enjoy wearing frilly green dresses as part of some fixation with the color. Abigail is noticeably malnourished and short for her age, probably due to the draining force of the other entity in the pair.

The second entity is the being actually known as Cassius, who exists by feeding off of Abigail's life force. At first glance 'Cassius' itself resembles an older teenage male with blonde hair, but has several noticeable deformities. First, what appear to be pair of round, cracked glasses on his face are actually its eyes, and are irremovable without causing severe damage to the creature. Its 'clothing', a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt featuring a toothy mouth also appear to be a part of its body. The mouth on its face is perpetually stuck in a Cheshire cat grin. This mouth has no internal component, so it doesn't appear to be functional at all. Cassius eats and communicates with the mouth on its 'shirt' instead.

Abilities:

Abigail- Has the ability to summon things she visualizes in her mind, however this has very warped consequences in practice. Due to the deficiencies of the human brain as well as her clinical insanity, the products of her mind do not translate well to reality, and may be non-functional or extremely different then intended, often even dangerous. She may occasionally conjure items by accident when roused to a state of high emotion, and in this case the warping tends to be much worse. Another rule is that the longer it has been since she last seen an object, the more warped it will be when summoned.

Cassius- Non-aging, and inhumanly strong. The teeth on its stomach mouth are capable of crushing and destroying most material, and it often seeks out nourishment from humans and other living creatures in order to provide energy for both it and Abigail. It seems to enjoy devouring books as well as anything containing print, and may be offered these as a substitute for eating humans. It may occasionally decide to devour the human offering the book anyways, depending on how hungry it is.

Bio: Abigail was born to a Nata and Tanner Satterfield, two scientists who had met and fallen in love while traveling abroad. She displayed her powers from early on in life, but at that age her knowledge of the world was severely limited, and so the things she summoned where somewhat warped but generally harmless. Her parents kept quiet about her power, but only for her protection.

At birth, she had one older sibling, a brother named Ilari. However, by the time Abigail was six years old, Ilari was already in the final stages of a terminal illness which would eventually claim his life. Tanner Satterfield suffered from latent mental illness, something he would pass on to his daughter, and the death of his son drove him to the brink of insanity. There was no way for science to resurrect the dead, but Tanner was blinded by his grief and tried in vain to bring Ilari back. This brought the entire family great suffering, alienating him from Abigail and Nata and occasionally causing him to become abusive.

Abigail suffered emotionally in particular. As her world had grown with age, so did her instability, and the dangerous nature of objects she summoned. Gradually, the idea formed in her head that the only way to bring back Ilari and restore her family's happiness was to summon him from her imagination. She looked deep into her thoughts for the memory of Ilari, but by that time she was much older and her memory of him had faded to the point of being near unrecognizable. Was it a print of the batman logo on his shirt, or had it been a mouth? What exactly had his eyes looked like behind those glasses? She remembered he had a wonderful, warm smile, but couldn't quite remember the specifics. She remembered that he loved to read, but she wasn't sure she liked that. Abigail hating reading.

She had been so excited to show her parents, and then her new big brother had eaten them for lunch.

______

Weapons: Neither of them really have need of weapons.

Weakness:

Abigail- is no stronger then a normal human her age, and could be killed easily if not for the fact that Cassius will go out of its way to defend her. It's not clear if Cassius would continue existing if Abigail where to die, but probably not.

Cassius- Cannot physically travel more then three meters from Abigail's side at any time, and seems to be a part of her being.

Other: Cassius can't really talk, and only communicates through babbles and gurgles like a baby. It's roughly as smart as your average dog, and has a dog-like sense of loyalty to Abigail.
This still open? I have a couple of Creepypasta OCs, they're very messed up and disturbing so I think you'll all enjoy them.
Character Sheet:

Name: Martin Leeds

Age: Looks 26, but is actually over a hundred years old.

Appearance: An all around small person, but a bit on the chubby side, with a bush of blue-black hair. He wears a pair of huge, dark shades which hide the fact that he doesn't have any eyes, but gets around fine and doesn't appear to be blind. In fact he isn't even aware of this trait yet himself. His polo shirt and pants have the same white and red stripe pattern, and around his neck he wears a blue scarf.

Race: A 'Monster'; he's the 12th of 13 children born to Madame Leeds, which makes him the Jersey Devil's older brother. He's unique in the sense that none of his siblings are exactly like him, but they all share a handful of traits such as combining features of various hoofed animals when in monster form.

Other: He has a yet undiscovered monstrous form that's a hideous gryphon like creature with the body of a goat and the head of an ostrich. This form retains the eyelessness and overall isn't very powerful. All in all he's hardly threatening, and out of all of the Leeds children he's probably the weakest as well as the most genial. He's excitable, high strung and has a lot of extra energy all the time.
Brovo said Real life and classic mythology. Some dungeons and dragons, pathfinder, and rolemaster. Sometimes just straight up brainstorming. It's led to lesbian queens, drow vampires, orc knights, shapeshifters that base their life around judeo-christian mythos... Loads of goodies.

I think after all this time that the most interesting thing to come out my brainstorming sessions is Selkie/Skinwalker hybrids. They're two mythological races from different cultural backgrounds that actually have quite a bit in common (although the former is usually more benevolent then the later), but I'm not sure I've seen anyone else cross them.

The biology is a bit different to mesh because you're combining one kind of shapeshifter with another that can only turn when certain conditions are met, so finding a happy medium was a bit difficult but a lot of fun. It also led to my twin hybrid characters being born with a single snake skin tied around their necks and nearly strangling to death, but...

So where do you guys get your inspirations from? I get mine from Mobile Suit Gundam, LOTR, GOT, various animes like death note, and historical people.

I do a lot of historical fiction, along with the various flavors of anime. I don't write anime characters exactly, but I draw in that style, so there will always be a flair of it in my work.
I feel like a horrible person, not showing up on RPG for weeks at a time like I do occasionally, and letting RPs that I'm in die off. It doesn't matter that I have perfectly reasonable excuses like getting ready to go off for college and my grandmother being in the hospital, it still makes me bummed out.
Alright, thanks, that's reasonable. I'll make my CSs now~

Name: Murray Faulkner
Age: 88, looks 30 or so. He ages, but very slowly.
Gender: Male
Appearance: A mountain of a man, broad-shouldered and well-built, although his body is unusually battered and worn from a difficult and active life. He has a relatively small face and boney cheeks; his black hair is short, and straight. He tends to be scruffy a lot, and usually has a beard no matter how hard to tries to stay clean shaven and up to code.
Nationality: American
Allegiance: Allies
Powers:

-Inhuman Strength
-High Endurance
-Longevity
-A minor thing, but it seems like he could literally stuff his face with food all day long and never be done eating. A literal bottomless pit, it's unlikely that winning eating competitions will help him beat the Nazis, but who knows.

Equipment: One half of a pair of dog tags, an M1 carbine rifle, reading glasses.

Personality: Outwardly outgoing, friendly, and upstanding. Could easily be called a gentle giant, although he is generally aware of his strength and tries his best to not accidentally harm people with it. While not brilliantly book smart, he is also reasonably intelligent when it comes to practical matters from his years in the military. On the other hand, while he is reasonably warm to everyone, only a few people are truly close to him. He suffers from hair-trigger rages that have alienated several of the people he once considered good friends, as well as his ex-wife and children. When angered this way, Murray loses any pretense of self control and can be extremely dangerous to anyone who gets in his way.

History: Murray has been around for a very long time- he first fought for the Confederacy as a young boy in the American Civil War. Since that time, he has felt obligated to use his slow aging and inhuman endurance to serve his country every time it went to war. Although he had the best of intentions, this constant lifelong struggle has had a troubling effect on his mind and body, and he's starting to show symptoms of arthritis as well as the disorder that will eventually come to be known as PTSD. Still, when duty called, he came to fight again, knowing that world safety could hinge on an allied victory and wanting to be there to help ensure that happens.

______

Name: Mendel Wallach
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance: A youthful looking man with short brown hair and messy bangs. Not at all short, but his personality can make him seem like a small shadow in the presence of more lively people, and so 'shadow' may be the perfect way to describe him. He's as pale as a ghost, and there's a quiet sickness in his eyes blatantly suggestive of the things he's seen.
Nationality: Polish Jew
Allegiance: Allies
Powers:

-A wolf man, if not a fullblown werewolf, and has the ability to shift in and out of this state at will. Hampered by the fact that he rarely has the presence of mind once shifted to change back, and can be uncontrollably violent. He also doesn't seem to remember much from his rampages afterward, and ends up dazed and confused.

Equipment: The other half of a pair of dog tags, M1 Carbine rifle. The dog tag has the phrase 'save our souls' etched into the back of it with a sharp piece of rock.

Personality: He's incomparably quiet and bookish, and yet his presence seems to be as big as whatever room he's in. Ever since his escape, he's been playing it safe by staying under the radar and playing second fiddle to Murray. The truth is though, under his withdrawn demeanor is the heart of a fighter, and Mendel is nothing if incredibly brave and reckless. There's an inner fire that motivates him to great heights, although it sometimes also puts him in harms way. He almost always seems to be on the edge of seething over, as if he's carefully waiting for his time to take revenge for what was done to him in the past. Still, he was very young when the war began, and his inexperience still shows. He's bound to make all kinds of harrowing mistakes on his path to comeuppance, and only time will tell if he can learn enough to make it out of this alive.

History: Mendel was born, an average human, in southern Poland what must seem to him like centuries ago, to a rather large but average and decidedly happy family. To the Nazis he was simply another soul to crush, and he along with the whole of his family found themselves directly in the center of the horrors from this war. However what Mendel didn't know at the time was that his suffering would take a drastic turn toward a whole new level of sinister. Hitler wished to use supermen to rule the world, but not before he used so-called 'sub humans' to test the lethality of his soldiers. An entire mob of them where let loose on the camp where Mendel was imprisoned, free to do what they wished to the people being held there. In the ensuing chaos, Mendel was savagely attacked by one metahuman in particular, a man who resembled a monstrous wolf.

He thought for sure he was going to die, and indeed that was probably very much the intention. As he lay there bleeding to death, he lost consciousness. He didn't know how much later it was, but he awoke to the smell of fire and burning bodies. All around him, prisoners and Nazi soldiers alike had been viciously murdered, and several tankers of gasoline had somehow ignited to form a massive explosion. Whats more, he was still near death, in no better condition then he had been before. Then, out of nothing, a hand reached out and grabbed him, pulling him from the fiery remains of that tragic place.

______

(And a bit of shared backstory here)

And semblance of a relationship between Murray and Mendel has been a long time coming, but the shared bond of war has kept them together through everything despite their differences. When it became clear that Mendel wanted to fight, Murray taught him to use a gun and mobilized him as an American soldier, helping him develop fake identities to stay hidden from the Nazis. They are brothers, and their ability to work together in the field grows stronger with each combat situation they find themselves in. Mendel still wishes to discover the truth about what happened to him at the camp and the true nature of his powers, something which Murray is attempting as much as he can to assist with.
