The mutant bit... I'm not sure if it was decided to be cannon or not, but apparently during the Brotherhood's expansion to the east there was a crashed vertibird in the midwest-ish area... They apparently accepted even super mutants into their ranks because they were so few in numbers... (was reading the fallout wiki's brotherhood article when I read that bit)

That explanation sounded like absolute shit but... yea... the remnants of the master's army supposedly spread east too... But it seems that those in DC had no affiliation with the master, as they have barely a fraction of his intelligence, and the FEV seems far less stable (leading to even more mutation over time causing behemoths and the like which aren't even mentioned out west)

Also... I just have to point out this minor plot hole... >.>

the power stations ONLY power the rails in an eastern direction? meaning that this quest could ONLY be done like this from the west coast starting in New Vegas? we couldn't start in say... Philly and propel the thing to Pittsburgh and then so on?

Sorry just had to point that out... I kept tripping in that plothole and I think I twisted my ankle... had to bitch about it a little <.<

Sshhh.

House recovered some trollies and had them sent to New Vegas. He restored them, and so those are the ones we can use, from there.

Don't think about it too hard. >.>

The DC Supermutants are ENTIRELY unrelated to the Master. They are all products of Vault 87 - they have nothing at all to do with the Master's Army or the First Gen supermutants, the end.

Or settled down like at Jacobstown. There's a few very intelligent mutants in the first generation bunch. Like for Jacobstown they may have settled down somewhere in the Sierra Nevada maybe, or in some ruins and spend their time herding other lost mutants towards them. With civilization sprouting up in Nevada too there's a possibility that the intelligent muties may see signs that threaten them and move out, taking who they can.If Jacobstown isn't steamrolled by robots, Marcus could have just as well took everyone out and away at a sign of trouble. He's not a character who would want it.

Of course, but Marcus is an established character; any mutie who traveled that far East/North obviously wasn't the cream of the crop if they couldn't find anything closer. If we WANT to have a society of Super Mutants to the North that's awesome but there's nothing from the games that support them being there, dig?

One last note, I realize Scrap carries his junk in a sack but I prefer calling it a satchel. "He hoisted his junk sack" makes me feel like an eighth grader writing smut.

Actually, the rails start in The Boneyard, where Tenpenny was originally operating from. That rail, the western anchor station, is already active.

If say, I had decided to launch this game from New York City, then that eastern anchor station would propel us westward.

Is there a problem?

My two votes settle for green or blue.

Personally, I like green because we get to see Chicago, which is were the original Eastern Chapter of BoS crash. However this also is the area of the game Fallout: Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel (iirc) both games I don't personally consider Fallout canon because they just throw everything upside down (Much like Fallout 3, but it wasn't so... poorly done imo).

We also get to interact with Pup's Pitt and New New York, which would be VERY interesting for my own character development, as Joshua comes from the Pitt, but knows nothing about it beyond a few wild rumors.

Blue, for me personally is my <3, because it just so happens to track though areas I know, and places I've made Fallout lore for.

I made some Fallout lore centered around Iowa, which, like much of the Midwest, is spared from total nuclear devastation, but suffers from dust storms for many decades after. However following that, the area has rainfall, though it isn't much, it allows for more bountiful crop yields than most places in the US currently. A Kingdom of Iowa has claimed a good portion of Southeastern Iowa, and in my lore was fighting an ever larger series of battles with the native residents mutants of Omaha. There was also a solid Brotherhood of Steel presence, which was at a very, very uneasy peace with the KoI. I also had some silly Nazi slavers for fun thrown around.

It also passes though Missouri, which I know the general terrain (It fucking sucks balls), plus I know the cities of Cincinnati. However it passes though the cool places like Pitt and New York.

I'm torn D:

I have detailed lore for most of Missouri, and for reasons* I'd prefer to leave the Blue line for later.

Playing New Vegas has made me really hate Southwestern geography, so I vote Green line.

imo the games that take place in the Midwest are shitty.

When you try and connect the Eastern and Western lores, the Midwest just... just feels out of place.

Does it almost make you wish FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER?

Also, i just had an interesting idea for a post-apocolypse like story

It set about 10-30 years after/during some form of apocalypse. (Most likely power-outage. like revolution) and it's a story about the world recovering, and about people recovering. It isn't this giant like civil war, or evil company (Villains would be nice) but about the world picking itself up after this said apocalypse. And the villain would be this like, group of people that want to control the populus of a certain area the story is set it, but the people of said area don't need it.
